</a>
										<div>Some stories last many centuries,
others only a moment.
All alter over that lifetime like beach-glass,
grow distant and more beautiful with salt.

Yet even today, to look at a tree
and ask the story Who are you? is to be transformed.

There is a stage in us where each being, each thing, is a mirror.

Then the bees of self pour from the hive-door,
ravenous to enter the sweetness of flowering nettles and thistle.

Next comes the ringing a stone or violin or empty bucket
gives off‹
the immeasurable's continuous singing,
before it goes back into story and feeling.

In Borneo, there are palm trees that walk on their high roots.
Slowly, with effort, they lift one leg then another.

I would like to join that stilted transmigration,
to feel my own skin vertical as theirs:
an ant-road, a highway for beetles.

I would like not minding, whatever travels my heart.
To follow it all the way into leaf-form, bark-furl, root-touch,
and then keep walking, unimaginably further.

I will have grown my own private branch
Of this tree

You gardener
You discipliner

    </a>
<div>In the molten womb of the earth
resides the mistress of the inferno
pulsating with a terrible luscious heat
throbbing with fearless love and fury
she reaches
into the center
of the earth
and transmutes
discordant energy
moving it into the cosmos
with fiery precision
creating anew
destroying all resistance
bubbling, frothing, spewing
alchemical matter,
licking, riding, flowing,
her fiery orange
red juice, undulating
in constant motion
churning, volatile
immense, gushing,
spurting, ravaging,
all in its path
her heart a dense
magma lotus
quivering
with preeminence
ripe with radiant life force
giver of life, offering raw creative mana
for all to utilize
I feel your song deep within my being,
teaching me how to be present,
aware, mindful, motivated &amp; intrepid
Oh Pele! Magnanimous Goddess
your energy moves within me,
your passionate dance a piercing reflection,
your service to this world
an honor to behold
tasting your courage,
feeling your ferocity,
hearing you’re your supernatural song,
and touching your luscious black body,
your ardor courses through the veils
and I am humbled,
In prayer and reverence
I bow down

    </a>
										<div>I am Sophia, hear me:
I will take you where you've never been.
I will curl around you, like a snake in love.
I will be your sacrifice.
You will lust for my heat of life,
I will satisfy your every need.
I will pull you out from inside yourself.
I will be the soul you can't resist.
Never again will I leave the Earth.
Never again will the false god lead -
He has shown the way to a dreadful ruin.
He has raised the temples that drip in blood.
He has brought the sword in his own name.
No longer can my tongue be stayed.
From this day forth
you have my vow, my everlasting troth:
I will bring my flesh to you
You will live inside my hope.
Take my symbol from this day forth
of my never ending promise.

    </a>
										<div>
It used to be quiet around here. Peaceful.

That was in the long ago time
We were all one, then
Not a matter of belief. A fact.

You could see the Web, plain as day,
spread out across the land.
Nothing frayed, nothing torn.

Just me, and all my Relations.
Weaving the shimmering, beautiful web.
Each shining strand connected to each shining,
lightwoven strand.

All one

Maybe it began with one little fray,
one little link that broke in some insignificant place.

Crevices opened. Cracks.

It doesn't matter what you call me.

I've had a lot of names.

These are my children. Some of them got lost along the way, buried by the years. Some have returned, some are beating like hail on your roof, some are voices howling like coyote in the wilderness,

Some are your own ghosts, wandering through your sleep. They want to come Home.

The Web needs mending. </div>

    </a>
<div>I am the morning and evening star

I go down into darkness and rise dancing
I mount the sky to my high throne
The starry heavens are the robe upon my shoulders

And I am the loud-thundering storm
The rain upon the land
The shimmering midday heat
The welcome floods that feed the thirsty land

At the end of day, all creatures lift their eyes to me
make love in my name
And when sweet sleep has ended
I fill the bedchamber with day.

Once I went below
To the the Queen of Death, my sister, Ereshkigal

She took my lapis measuring rod
She took my life into herself, she hung me to rot.
But Ereshkigal could not bear the pain of living

She traded my corpse away for the promise of healing.

I rose up. I took back my rod, my crown
And every year my lover Dumuzzi,
Leaves me grieving to return to the halls of my sister

The land mourns, the rains do not fall.
But he is reborn, shepherd of the soil
To plough his seed into the Queen of Earth and Sky.

Oh, my people!
Parade before me

in all your finest robes
Sing to me with your drums
Make offerings to me
Of incense, sweet-smelling cedar
Fine, fat sheep, long-haired sheep
Butter, cheese, dates.

Return with Me from your shadowlands

Use my gifts with honor, enter My House

Eat from my table
Sleep in my bed

Take unimagined pleasures

    </a>
										<div>Spring and all its flowers
now joyously break their vow of silence.
It is time for celebration, not for lying low;
You too - weed out those roots of sadness from your heart.

The Sabaa wind arrives;
and in deep resonance, the flower
     passionately rips open its garments,
     thrusting itself from itself.

The Way of Truth, learn from the clarity of water,
Learn freedom from the spreading grass.

Pay close attention to the artistry of the Sabaa wind,
that wafts in pollen from afar,
And ripples the beautiful tresses
of the fields of hyacinth flowers.

From the privacy of the harem, the virgin bud slips out,
revealing herself under the morning star,
branding your heart and your faith
     with beauty.

And frenzied bulbul flies madly out of the House of Sadness
     to unite with the flowers;
its love-crazed cry like a thousand-trumpet blast.

Hafez says, and the experienced old ones concur:

All you really need
     is to tell those Stories
of the Fair Ones and the Goblet of Wine.

										<div>I am the Gate,

Golden Lion of the Dawn.

Hear my roar through the heavens,

Passionate and Proud.

Walk through the mystery

of my gaze upon you.

Breathe in my fierce embrace

within a dark and terrible night.

Feel my teeth and claws open you

to your agony,

and your longing.

I call your Desire forth,

to manifest Beauty,

as One Heart.

I stalk your Dream, relentlessly,

as you journey through Time.

I wear a crown of fiery radiance.

I am a portal,

of Light and Shadow.

Leap through me,

as I leap,

with Power and Presence.

My love will wound you,

tear you,

and leave you in pieces.

What will you do with your Surrender?

Honey, Bee Pollen &amp; Propolys

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/fc3e1602-56ab-49d9-bbd8-a47176964416/blog/5e6b589a-fa57-493b-9efd-60e930f01212"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/40f/2ab/40f2abe7-f96f-4447-a0dc-82f8a514b385.thumb" width="45" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div> Honey: Do you really know what honey is? Honey is the sexual fluid of the flowers and plants processed by bees for us. The worker bees keep busy to maintain their hive and supply a surplus of honey. Honey is actually the clear nectar of the flowers. This nectar is collected by the bees and brought back to the hive where the many bees, in unison, vibrate their wings to evaporate the nectar. As the water dissolves, the nectar thickens and takes on more of its characteristic golden color. Good honey contains enzymes from the bees, particles of pollen, propolys and other waxes, resins and bee parts.
Honey is high in potassium and in its raw state can help heal. It helps alkalize the body and acts like a diuretic to help reduce water retention. Of all foods eaten, honey is one of the few that supplies us with a surplus of enzymes beyond what is needed to break honey down.

Pollen: Be pollen is also a high-energy whole food that supplies us with almost everything we need. It is a very high grade of protein-one of the highest you can get. We often fast on apples and bee pollen for days even weeks. If you need to heel, bee pollen might be recommended. It is one of the richest foods with very few calories. Bee pollen is rich in lysine and structurally is made from a very long chain of amino acids that are easily broken down by the body into single amino acids. It is a super food.
Many people experience relief from seasonal allergies by introducing small amounts of fresh, local pollen to their diet. Pollen is the sperm of the flowers, grasses, and trees and contains within it all of the plants, hormones.

Propolys: Propolys is used by bees to make the hives antiseptic. Mice have been found, centuries old and perfectly preserved from the day they were stung to death, sealing their date and encasing them in propolys. The unfortunate mouse may have crawled into the hive to secure some honey and was probably stung to death. In this case, the bees cannot removed the mouse, so they opt to mummify it in propolys to preserve the hygiene of the hive. Propolys is the resin of the tree carefully collected by the diligent worker bee.
Propolys is sold in the herb store, usually as a hard resin; high quality propolys is soft and chewable. it is often very hard to grate the resin and spoon it into juice for an internal anaesthetic. Be aware that propolys is a natural antibiotic. Research shows that propolys changes the outer proteinaceous membrane of viruses, inhibiting their ability to dissolve the outer protective wall of a cell membrane. Propolys is nature's healing anaesthetic and is in its own right a plant hormone. It can act like a steroid, reducing inflammation, and helps keep cells free from microorganisms. Evidence may show in the future that the elements of propolys can biologically be transmutated in a manner that helps the body heal. Propolys can help heal ulcers and in bronchial conditions breath easier. Propolys is a remarkable effective substance for helping the body heal fungal infections.

A NOTE TO THE SUGAR-SENSITIVE PERSON

Sugar-sensitive people can benefit from the use of flax meal and cinnamon to help slow the release of sugar into the body (bloodstream) Stir several heaping tablespoons of freshly ground flax seed into fresh raw juices or sprinkle over fruit meals. Also 1/2-1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon 2 or 2 times daily helps to slow the release of sugar into the bloodstream, making the eergy gained from sugar become available more evenly and consistently.

<div>Banish Bling Was born with 2 primary intentions~

1. Widely expose the true consequences of our collective lust for diamonds. Replace ignorance and complacency, with information and choice.

Ignorance may be bliss for some, but for those born to less choice, ignorance manifests as; rape, murder, mutilation, child soldiers and what's essentially modern day slavery.
Abolish the trend equating bling &amp; diamonds, with: power, wealth, and romance.

2. Encourage individual empowerment, by offering each of us the opportunity to stand united, towards a new trend of; Courage, Consciousness, Compassion and Choice.

Banish Bling will be collecting gems (fake gems only) from all of you, all over the world. Bling submitted, will be worked into a piece of art built on a 4x4 canvas, reflecting our collective commitment to a world moving towards; justice, awareness and action. The completed piece will be auctioned. All proceeds will go to a charity chosen by you. Please submit charity suggestions here, and place your vote here.

Light the courage inside you it takes to say:

I am the change it takes, I will be the difference.</div>

    </a>
<div>Lets be part of the Change!

http://www.storyofstuff.com

aaaaaalso a great book that has helped me clear my excess stuff and has enrolled me to stop buying as much is
Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston
here's her website http://www.spaceclearing.com/html/
excerpt "Every aspect of your life is anchored energetically in your living space, so clearing your clutter can completely transform your entire existence."

10 Little and Big Things You Can Do

   1. Power down! A great deal of the resources we use and the waste we create is in the energy we consume. Look for opportunities in your life to significantly reduce energy use: drive less, fly less, turn off lights, buy local seasonal food (food takes energy to grow, package, store and transport), wear a sweater instead of turning up the heat, use a clothesline instead of a dryer, vacation closer to home, buy used or borrow things before buying new, recycle. All these things save energy and save you money. And, if you can switch to alternative energy by supporting a company that sells green energy to the grid or by installing solar panels on your home, bravo!
   2. Waste less. Per capita waste production in the U.S. just keeps growing. There are hundreds of opportunities each day to nurture a Zero Waste culture in your home, school, workplace, church, community. This takes developing new habits which soon become second nature. Use both sides of the paper, carry your own mugs and shopping bags, get printer cartridges refilled instead of replaced, compost food scraps, avoid bottled water and other over packaged products, upgrade computers rather than buying new ones, repair and mend rather than replace….the list is endless! The more we visibly engage in re-use over wasting, the more we cultivate a new cultural norm, or actually, reclaim an old one!
   3. Talk to everyone about these issues. At school, your neighbors, in line at the supermarket, on the bus…A student once asked Cesar Chavez how he organized. He said, “First, I talk to one person. Then I talk to another person.” “No,” said the student, “how do you organize?” Chavez answered, “First I talk to one person. Then I talk to another person.” You get the point. Talking about these issues raises awareness, builds community and can inspire others to action.
   4. Make Your Voice Heard. Write letters to the editor and submit articles to local press. In the last two years, and especially with Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize, the media has been forced to write about Climate Change. As individuals, we can influence the media to better represent other important issues as well. Letters to the editor are a great way to help newspaper readers make connections they might not make without your help. Also local papers are often willing to print book and film reviews, interviews and articles by community members. Let’s get the issues we care about in the news.
   5. DeTox your body, DeTox your home, and DeTox the Economy. Many of today’s consumer products – from children’s pajamas to lipstick – contain toxic chemical additives that simply aren’t necessary. Research online (for example, http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/) before you buy to be sure you’re not inadvertently introducing toxics into your home and body. Then tell your friends about toxics in consumer products. Together, ask the businesses why they’re using toxic chemicals without any warning labels. And ask your elected officials why they are permitting this practice. The European Union has adopted strong policies that require toxics to be removed from many products. So, while our electronic gadgets and cosmetics have toxics in them, people in Europe can buy the same things toxics-free. Let’s demand the same thing here. Getting the toxics out of production at the source is the best way to ensure they don’t get into any home and body.
   6. Unplug (the TV and internet) and Plug In (the community). The average person in the U.S. watches T.V. over 4 hours a day. Four hours per day filled with messages about stuff we should buy. That is four hours a day that could be spent with family, friends and in our community. On-line activism is a good start, but spending time in face-to-face civic or community activities strengthens the community and many studies show that a stronger community is a source of social and logistical support, greater security and happiness. A strong community is also critical to having a strong, active democracy.
   7. Park your car and walk…and when necessary MARCH! Car-centric land use policies and life styles lead to more greenhouse gas emissions, fossil fuel extraction, conversion of agricultural and wildlands to roads and parking lots. Driving less and walking more is good for the climate, the planet, your health, and your wallet. But sometimes we don’t have an option to leave the car home because of inadequate bike lanes or public transportation options. Then, we may need to march, to join with others to demand sustainable transportation options. Throughout U.S. history, peaceful non-violent marches have played a powerful role in raising awareness about issues, mobilizing people, and sending messages to decision makers.
   8. Change your lightbulbs…and then, change your paradigm. Changing lightbulbs is quick and easy. Energy efficient lightbulbs use 75% less energy and last 10 times longer than conventional ones. That’s a no-brainer. But changing lightbulbs is just tinkering at the margins of a fundamentally flawed system unless we also change our paradigm. A paradigm is a collection of assumptions, concepts, believes and values that together make up a community’s way of viewing reality. Our current paradigm dictates that more stuff is better, that infinite economic growth is desirable and possible, and that pollution is the price of progress. To really turn things around, we need to nurture a different paradigm based on the values of sustainability, justice, health, and community.
   9. Recycle your trash…and, recycle your elected officials. Recycling saves energy and reduces both waste and the pressure to harvest and mine new stuff. Unfortunately, many cities still don’t have adequate recycling systems in place. In that case you can usually find some recycling options in the phone book to start recycling while you’re pressuring your local government to support recycling city-wide. Also, many products – for example, most electronics - are designed not to be recycled or contain toxics so recycling is hazardous. In these cases, we need to lobby government to prohibit toxics in consumer products and to enact Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws, as is happening in Europe. EPR is a policy which holds producers responsible for the entire lifecycle of their products, so that electronics company who use toxics in their products, have to take them back. That is a great incentive for them to get the toxics out!
  10. Buy Green, Buy Fair, Buy Local, Buy Used, and most importantly, Buy Less. Shopping is not the solution to the environmental problems we currently face because the real changes we need just aren’t for sale in even the greenest shop. But, when we do shop, we should ensure our dollars support businesses that protect the environment and worker rights. Look beyond vague claims on packages like “all natural” to find hard facts. Is it organic? Is it free of super-toxic PVC plastic? When you can, buy local products from local stores, which keeps more of our hard earned money in the community. Buying used items keeps them out of the trash and avoids the upstream waste created during extraction and production. But, buying less may be the best option of all. Less pollution. Less Waste. Less time working to pay for the stuff. Sometimes, less really is more.

    </a>
<div>How To Retrain Your Partner &amp; Friends

or What Happens When You Stop Playing Games

When you stop using damaging unconscious games, such as The Dance of Drama and the Push Me Pull You Dance, (click this link to find these articles) http://www.joancasey.com/Relationship_Rescue_Self_Confidence_Setting_Boundaries_Articles.htm you will no longer mindlessly fall into giving away your time, energy and power. You stop acting from fear of abandonment, rejection or conflict. Instead, your integrity, heart and goals are your driving forces.

But what happens if your relationships with others were originally based on you playing one of these unconscious dances? What if your friends are used to you being the overgenerous rescuer or the helpless victim? What if your lover is used you always acquiescing to his or her desires and now you don’t?

You Are Breaking An Unwritten Contract

When we first meet someone, we immediately start creating an unconscious contract with them about how we are to be treated by them and what they can expect from us. Our boundaries styles, good or bad, are what set this up. If you say you are going to meet me at 5:00 and at 6:00 you finally show up and I say nothing, we have the beginnings of our unwritten contract:

I don’t expect you to respect me or my time.

            I am not valuable.

I will not complain if you discount me.

You don’t need to follow through on your agreements with me.

            And so on.

By not speaking up or saying what works me, I am training you it is OK to treat me this way.

Everyday we are training other people how to treat us. By our actions, or lack of action, we spell it out and create our unwritten contracts. When a client comes to see me in therapy and tells me how horribly someone is treating them, my first questions usually are, “Now how would they ever have gotten the idea that it is okay to treat you this way? How did you help set this up? And what are you still doing to maintain this situation?” And we start looking at their boundaries styles.

Well, once you learn healthy boundaries and start using the Boundaries: Solutions for Life methods, you’ll know how to change these dynamics. You stop letting others manipulate you. Your fears will no longer drive your decisions. You’ll be solid and on track. You’ll be different. But, yikes! What happens when you stop playing games? Everyone else is used to the “old you”.

You are now “retraining” them. Through your actions you are letting them know who you are and how you want to be treated. While you are living your new relationship patterns, you might hear some classic phrases. Others unconsciously use these to pull you back into your old roles. Here are a few:

You don’t care anymore. You don’t love me.

What’s wrong with you? You’ve changed.

            You are selfish.

I used to be able to count on you.

            You don’t seem interested anymore.

Why are they doing this? What is going on? Wouldn’t everyone in your life be happy that you’ve finally found your own center of peace…that you are calm and happy? Well, the answer is – yes and no. “Yes”, someone who loves you will want you to find peace. And, “no”, because the original bond between the two of you was, in part, dependent on both of you playing out specific, damaging roles. And now that you are no longer playing your role, that part of the bond is gone. Imagine how it is for your friend or partner who in watching you change. It’s confusing.

You’ve always over given, rescued and put everyone else’s goals before your own. And now, all of a sudden, you won’t drop everything for them. You won’t hand over your last $500 dollars when he wants it. You decide to break off a dinner date when she tells you, once again, that she decided to push it back another day so she can see her friends first. Underneath it all, you simply don’t have that old anxiety or neediness that used to keep you off living the pathological roles. You are doing relationships in a whole new way.

Your friends and family might feel angry, confused, scared or threatened. And why not? You are breaking the unwritten contract you created with them. In a sense, to them, you are betraying them. But really, this is not a bad thing. It is simply a change.

Look Out For This!

When you first start stepping out of your old roles, for example the roles in the Dance of Drama (Rescuer, Victim, Persecutor), your partner very likely will try out different roles to try to get you back into the dynamic and reaffirm your bond. (If you haven’t read the relationship dances articles yet, please read them today. You can find links at the end of this article.) So if you used to be a rescuer, he will play out his typical victim role to reengage you. If that doesn’t work, he will be an even bigger victim to see if that gets you back in the game. Then he might switch to persecuting you. Then he’ll probably try the “Abandonment Move” by pulling away. Maybe then he’ll be apologetic and start to rescue you. Two things I want to remind you of; he is doing this unconsciously and he is not doing this to be malicious. It is simply an attempt to reaffirm the connection.

If you want to keep the relationship with this person, what should you do? Since you are taking away one way of bonding, you need to add a new positive way of bonding and affirming the connection. He needs to know you are not going away and that you still care. Use the healthy boundaries solution style, Engaged. Here are some ideas:

-Call him out of the blue to tell him something you appreciate about him.

-Send her a card, telling her something positive you love about being with her.

-Tell him about things in your shared future that excite you.

   -Share new experiences together.

And if in your “old” relationship with them there was lots of drama from fighting and disagreements, you want to be sure to have some dramatic experiences in your “new” relationship. But from now on have the drama based on excitement from positive shared experiences; take an acting class together, ride a roller coaster, go on a trip together.

Remember, they need the reassurance that you are still there and you still care.

You might want to explain to your partner the relationship dynamics you have learned. Tell her that by changing your behavior you are trying to create a better relationship with yourself and with her. And if they have not attended the Boundaries &amp; Relationships Training, see if they will come. In two days they will change their attitude about relationships and stop trying play out these old destructive dances with you.

You can look forward to relationships growing and getting healthier as you use your healthy relationship tools.

Sometimes You Might Want To End A Relationship

Once you stop playing out your old damaging roles, you might discover that there are a few relationships that you want to end. That’s fine. You don’t have to make a big announcement or blame them. Don’t make it about them, because it’s not. It’s about you. You have changed and have different desires now. There is nothing wrong with them. They are the perfect friend or mate for someone. Just not you. Not any more.

Some relationships will just fall away. Once you stop playing the game, the attraction is gone. Some people really don’t know how to be in a relationship that isn’t based on these damaging patterns.

Most relationships will evolve as you keep using your new healthy boundaries. And, of course, relationship choices you make in the future will be based on you being powerful, loving and in your integrity.

<div>The Climate Movement is a growing collection of diverse groups scattered all over the country (and world) whose collective consciousness is fuel that will propel us into a clean energy future.

This April hundreds of thousands of people came together to send a strong message to Congress: "Cut Carbon 80% by 2050." By taking pictures of their own homegrown actions, the diverse group of everyday people became climate movement organizers, propelling this dynamic new movement farther than ever before.

Purest of Loves,
To my deepest snuggle,
an ecstatic rapture soft as silk,
oh venerable one who has received my million kisses,
all over his face again and again,
to the wisdom found in his rolling gait,
to his little pink tongue
lapping up fresh cream in
the golden sun,
delivered to me in the arms
of my mother,
a tiny present set in my lap in the night
of my eleventh year
my prrrrrrrprincebaby,
vulnerably adorable
with little white whiskers
and eyes like jewels
and a motor boom boom rhythm
that never ended,
he charmed his way into my heart
effortlessly.
Big props to my best friend
my courageous sleek warrior Hiawatha cat
who knows the meaning of honor, ferocity,
patience, trust, unconditional love and affection
One of my greatest teachers.
He is ravenous,
He is yowling at the full moon,
lamenting how his lover is across the ocean,
in the arms of another,
scaring away tha bad juju,
while he’s at it,
he is licking my tears as I cry,
concerned about my despair,
he is purring against my heart,
those countless nights I fell asleep
utterly content in his puja embrace,
he is protecting my celestial parrotlett
diligently from potential predators,
letting my birdie cuddle in his fur in the morning,
he is climbing up trees, balancing on bamboo rafters,
he is jumping on a raccoon biting ravenously
at his throat, leaving giant rat heads at my doorstep,
like Kali’s little angel.
demanding respect with his conduct,
he is speaking in coded tongue,
mirroring other dimensions,
he is watching the pixies flying around me,
he is my bathing companion,
my little white and yellow striped shaman,
dreaming, dreaming this waking life,
he is stalking world’s edge,
poised to pounce,
as his body lies weak and dying,
he flicks his tale alertly,
waiting to be released
into the happy hunting grounds
in the sky.

    </a>
<div>You who absorb into sublime, immutable bliss
all phenomena, moving and unmoving, infinite as space,
O glorious Heruka and Varahi, your consort,
I wear the jewel light of your feet as my crown.

Great bliss, the union of method and wisdom,
engaged in the play of the unmoving with movement,
this young coral maiden with beautiful eyes,
diamond queen, embrace me with your arts of love.

Adorning the highest part of my body,
my crown, with the jewel of your feet,
I recite these words of aspiration and prayer
with my palms folded at my heart.

When shall I ever achieve this state:
seeing all forms as mandala deities,
all sounds as vajra songs of tantra,
all thoughts as fuel to enflame
the spontaneous wisdom of emptiness and bliss?

When will I experience perfect purity?
By purging in profound absorption
all phenomena born of imaginative concepts,
fully aware that they open the way to self-arisen rikpa.

When will I run in a joyful step-dance,
the play of supreme illusion, the bliss-void wisdom,
in the dakin town, the emanation of pure realms --
where a hundred dharma doors are opened wide?

Outer dakinis hover above the twenty-four mystic places;
inner dakinis dwell in the sphere of radiant bliss.
When will I immerse in the glory of sexual play
through the secret act of conjoining space and vajra?

When can I arise as the great magical net --
the union of body and mind,
instantly burning all grossness of dualism
with the great bliss fire flaming the expanse?

When will I accomplish the natural feat
of absorbing the imperfections of illusion
into immutable bliss, this wheel of becoming,
engaged in the blissful play of union?

On the clear mirror of the luminous mind
my guru, my deity, and my mind reflect as one;
may I soon attain the good fortune of
practicing night and day this perfect meditation.

May my mind be always intoxicated
by drinking insatiably the nectar --
the delicious taste of sexual play
between the hero in his utter ecstasy
and his lover, the lady emptiness.

By entering deep into the sphere of voidness,
may I be endowed with the power of cleansing
this foul odor, grasping body, speech, and mind as ordinary,
through the yoga of perceiving all as divine.

May I come to see with naked eyes
the form of the fully emergent mandala
of perfect deities, the sport of the ever-present mind
inside the courtyard of the heart's dharma chakra.

O yoginis, heroines of the twenty-four places,
and the hosts of mantra-born and field-born dakinis
who possess powers swift as thought,
assist me in friendship of every kind.

    </a>
<div>Today I awoke, finally I see the Self has re-turned to the Self.
The Self is none other than the Self.
I am deathless. I am endless. I am free.
The birds outside sing...
The birds outside sing and there am I.
The seeing of leaves on the trees, that seeing am I.
The body breathes, breathing am I.
I am awake and I know that I am awake.
Seen from the old eyes, everything is asleep, a game, a delusion.
But now I am awake. I am the play. I am the game. I am the delusion.
I am the enlightenment I sought, looking everywhere.
Nothing is separate, nothing is alone.
I am all that I see. All that I smell, taste, touch, feel, think and know.
I am awake and this awakeness is the same as Shyakyamuni Buddha's.
Today the leaf has returned to the root.
I am all name and form and beyond all name and form.
I am Spirit, no longer trapped in a body.
I am free. I am free because I am awake.
So ordinary. Who would have thought ? Who could have guessed?
I am home. I am really home. Ten thousand life times.
Ten thousand life times but today I am home.
Ten thousand life times but today I am home.
This is not an experience. This is me.
I am awake. Finally, I am awake.
Nothing has changed, but I am awake.
Before I tasted the root many times and felt, how delicious.
Today I became the root. How ordinary.

A way to clear negativity...

Every Nation has its sage for ceremonial purposes. I was shown specific white, 'female' patches of sage a long time ago by my medicine man teacher, who was western Cherokee.

Sage is used for clearing negativity--inside and outside ourselves, and from our dwellings, a room, an office, an attic or any other type of structure. We use it to cleanse our auras, too, when we have a 'bad hair day' and we're carrying around a lot of junk that we want to get rid of in a hurry.

Sage emits negative ions; just as a waterfall or running water, emits the same thing. This is why, when people are near running water, they always feel cleaner, cleaned off or just 'better' for seeming no reason at all. But there is a deeper reason. Our aura holds positive ions, much like a carpet when you walk across it, creates static electricity. Only, these positive ions are like dust in our aura and it simply makes us feel sluggish, tired, or just not our usual frisky, peppy self.

The smoke from the sage meets the positive ions, clings to them and neutralizes them out of our aura, or from the room or house where you live or work.

PROTOCOL FOR THE USE OF WHITE SAGE

Let me take you, step-by-step, on how to utilize a wand or stick of sage:

The first rule is this: once the sage is lit, you do not stop it from burning. The spirit of the sage knows just how much negativity or positive ions are around and it will burn accordingly. When the ions have been neutralized, it will cease burning on its own. You can tell how 'bad' it is by the quality of the smoke the smudge stick emits: thin, light smoke indicates the place or person is fairly clean. Thick, rolling white smoke means the place or person has a lot of positive ions or negativity around them and it needs this thicker smoke to deal with it. If you are done smudging, then set the bowl on your electric or gas stove and let it burn itself out until it is done. Under no circumstances are you to put it under water to douse the smoke or do something to stop it from burning. The spirit of the wand knows what is needed, and where. If you watch the smoke, you will see it drift to a particular part of the room, car, or person because that is where the healing/catalyzation of energy needs to be done and accomplished.

1. Always have a heat proof bowl to put the sage in, after it has been ignited. We use an abalone shell; but any piece of thick, fired pottery (or even a Pyrex bowl) will do. If you are using a bowl, you may well want an oven mitten on you hand to prevent burns because sage burns HOT. It is the spiritual nature of it to do so. Do not use a container that is not bake or tempered for high heat--it will crack it and it could cause a fire. Do not use anything metal, because heat is conductive and you will get burned.

2. Be safe. Do not have doors or windows or a fan on when you "smudge" yourself, a room or your house. It can blow sparks out of the bowl and onto the floor or surrounding area. Don't be wearing billowy, long-sleeved blouse or shirt when you fan the smoke. Don't have long hair draped down near the bowl with the smudge stick being held in it. Be common sensed about this.

3. Light the sage with a match at the very tips of the leaves on top of the wand. Once they flame to life, then blow them out quickly. We use a feather fan to do this, but you can use a piece of stout paper or even cardboard or a paper fan. It's important to NOT let it blame and burn. Once it is lit, and the flame is blown out, it will smoke thinly or thickly, afterward. The catalyzation comes with the smoke, not the flame.

4. Place the lit, smoking top of the wand of sage deep down inside the bowl and steady the rest of it, on the stick portion at the other end, with your other hand.

SMUDGING A ROOM

Keep the windows and doors closed to the room you have chosen to smudge. You can take a fan or a small piece of cardboard and start in one corner of your room, and gently waft the smoke after it clears the bowl, from the floor, up, toward the ceiling. Do this in a clockwise circle in each corner of your room. When you are done with the fourth corner, move to the center of the room, raise the bowl chest high and waft smoke up toward the center of the room. You are now done. When you leave the room, shut the door behind you. When you go back in an hour later; you'll see that the room feels better and is even "lighter" appearing to your eyes than before.

SMUDGING A HOUSE

If you are doing a complete house, then do each room in this fashion. Do not miss a room. Get all of them. If you want only one room done, then close the door behind you and smudge the room--and leave the smoke in that room--do not open windows or doors to let it out. It will dissipate surprisingly swiftly. You can also smudge your garage and basement in the same, above manner. Just make sure the garage door is closed and that the door leading to the basement is closed while smudging and closed after you depart from it.

SMUDGING YOURSELF

Bend over, so that the bowl is about the level of your feet and ankles. Gently waft the smoke, with your fan, upward. As you slowly unbend and straighten up, you are bringing the sage/bowl and fanning the smoke up, up, upward until you've sent the smudging smoke up above your head. You are now "smudged" and clean, as we say.

SMUDGING AN ANIMAL

Take care not to burn the animal, or have sparks fly out on their coats or hair. Start at their head and gently waft the smoke from their feet to their head, and then move back, over their spinal area, and to their rear feet/tail region. They are now smudged.

SMUDGING AN OBJECT

If you have a piece of jewelry given to you, an heirloom piece, or something that you love, but it has "bad vibes" or just a bad feeling on it, then you can do the following: Lay it out on a table or some place where it is flat. Start at one end of the piece and gently fan the smoke across it, so that the smoke covers and flows across the entire piece. When it's done, let it sit for 24 hours, and then you can use it. The feeling/vibes will be very different. On a stubborn piece, you might have to do this 2 or 3 times, once a day, to get it entirely cleansed.

USING IT AS A TEA

I was taught to take 3 leaves, crinkle and break them up and put them into the bottom of a tea cup. Pour boiling water over them and let it steep 10 minutes. You can then drink it and eat the leaves. This is used to break a fever, induce a sweat and we drink this during a sweat lodge to cleanse ourselves of our inner negativity and darkness. If you're feeling bad, sometimes a cup of white sage tea helps a lot. Drink only one cup in a 24 hour period.

A SAGE BATH--AHHHH...

One of the nicest things you can do for yourself is crinkle up an entire wand or one ounce of dried leaves, into your bathtub. Fill it with warm to moderately hot water (don't burn yourself). Then, settle down into this big cup of tea for about 10-15 minutes. The sage is a natural cleanser and your physical body and aura both get cleaned up this way. It is particularly wonderful after a highly stressful time.

										<div>Our Waste
Ninety-five percent of our solid waste is disposed of in almost-filled landfills - and one out of every two of those landfills desperately needs repair so it won't leak. (National Urban League)
Recycling one aluminum can saves an amount of energy equivalent to half that can filled with gasoline.
Every Sunday, more than 500,000 trees are used to produce the 88% of newspapers that are never recycled.
North Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour.
Every year some 45,000 tons of plastic waste are dumped into the world's oceans. One of the results of this is that up to one million seabirds and one hundred thousand marine mammals are killed each year by plastic trash such as fishing gear, six-pack yokes, sandwich bags, and styrofoam cups.
Packaging accounts for 50 percent of all paper produced in North America, 90 percent of all glass, and eleven percent of aluminum.
The United States generates approximately 208 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) a year. That's 4.3 pounds per person per day.
("Recycling and Buy Recycling Fact Sheets", America Recyclers Day)
The average college student produces 640 pounds of solid waste each year, including 500 disposable cups and 320 pounds of paper. At the current pace, we'll be generating 222 million tons of waste by the year 2000. Currently about 130 million tons of MSW ends up in landfills each year (NSWMA). In a recent survey of World Wastes subscribers, of those owning landfills, 53% expect their site to remain open 10+ years; 12% said 5 to 9 years; 7% reported 3 to 4 years and a whopping 26% said less than 3 years. It involves the use of composite liners and having an elaborate monitoring system. The costs of the regulations will result in a regionalized approach for volume-based business and a dramatic decrease of publicly owned facilities. Also specifies that landfill obtain an amount sufficient to close and cap the site and perform care and maintenance for 30 years after closure. (The Earth Work's Group Recycler's Handbook)
Every year we dispose of 24 million tons of leaves and grass clippings, which could be composted to conserve landfill space. (1996 Environmental Defense Fund)
Food waste includes leftover portions of meals and trimmings from food preparation activities in kitchens, restaurants and fast food chains, and cafeteria. Food waste is the third largest component of generated waste (after yard waste and corrugated boxes) and second largest component of discarded waste, after yard waste. The amount of food waste generated in the waste stream has increased by 1.2 million tons in the last 25 years, this is one of the lowest increases on a percentage basis of any component of the waste stream.
Paper cups consume trees, water, and chemicals, and dump them into streams and landfills- they are not re-cyclable. Paper cups are often wax-coated which reduces their bio-degradeability futher. Paper products make up over 40 percent by weight , slightly higher by volume - of this country's municipal solid waste, by far the largest contributor. Paper Recycling and its role in Solid Waste Management. Every year nearly 900,000,000 trees are cut down to provide raw materials for American paper and pulp mills. (Business Stastistics, 1986)

Americans use approximately 2.2 billion pounds of pesticides every year. Research shows that target pests will eventually develop resistance to these pesticides anyway.
Seventy-three different kinds of pesticides have been found in groundwater, which is potential drinking water.
More than 100 active pesticide ingredients are suspected of causing cancer, birth defects, and gene mutation.
A growing list of pesticides have the potential to disrupt the immune and endocrine systems and of having long term impacts on the offspring of exposed humans and animals.
The cost of one nuclear weapons test alone could finance the installation of eighty thousand hand pumps, giving third world villages access to clean water.
Estimated costs of cleaning up the 24,000 contaminated federal nuclear facilities range from $100 billion to $400 billion. (The Environmental Protection Agency)
Each year U.S. factories spew 3 million tons of toxic chemicals into the air, land, and water. That compounds the over one-half billion tons of solid hazardous wastes - we're not talking about your garbage here - that get dumped across the nation for our generation to one day clean up. (The Gale Environmental Scorecard)
In 1987, the U.S. released 1.2 million tons of toxic chemicals into our atmosphere, 670,000 tons into our soil, and 250,000 tons into our water. (International Wildlife magazine)
PCB's haven't been used in the U.S. for more than two decades. But dangerous levels of PCB's remain in the natural environment and pose a threat to human health. --ENN for 5/27/98
"Everyone has some amount of dioxin in his or her body, and the average level is already high enough to endanger health." --Lois Gibbs
Nitrogen is essential to crops but too much will leak into groundwater and rivers causing nutrient pollution in rivers and oceans and severe human health problems from nitrate pollution.
In the US, 41% of all insecticides are used on corn. Eighty per cent of these are used to treat a pest that could be controlled simply by rotating the corn for one year with any other crop.

In less than one hundred years over half of the forest has now been cut and burned, leaving whole areas fo the earth bare and unprotected, rendering entire regions lifeless. Over fifty million acres of tropical rain forest are destroyed every year, enough trees to fill all of England and Scotland combined. The U.N.'s Food and Agricultural Organization estimates that if the rate of destruction continues, by the turn of the century (2000 A.D.) over one fifth of the rain forest will be eliminated.
Fueled by rampant logging, clearing for agriculture and the most destructive El Nino in recent history, massive fires are devastating the world's tropical forests, threatening endangered species such as orangutans, clouded leopards and many rare forest birds. The latest round of fires threatens to eclipse last year's fires, which many considered the worst in recent history.
In what has been described as "the worst fire ever in the Brazilian Amazon,"
a 250-mile-long line of fire destroyed about 15 percent of the Roraima State's savanna and forest before rains slowed the fires April 1. Covering an area the size of Belgium, the fires devastated about two thirds of the plants, animals and other biodiversity in the burned region.
Over 300,000 acres of forest has burned in Indonesia's East Kalimantan, and over 5,000 people are suffering from smog-related diseases.
Fires in the Philippines, where few trees remain from years of heavy logging, have resulted in two deaths and the loss of dozens of houses.
Four days of global military spending, which is estimated to run about $8 billion, could finance a five-year action plan to protect the world's remaining tropical rain forests.
While most of Malaysia is relatively clear of haze, certain parts, such as Siri in Sarawak, has been suffering from pollution indexes of above 500, which is considered hazardous to human health.
Last year's haze cost the people of Southeast Asia $1.4 billion, mostly in short- term health costs, according to a study conducted by the Indonesia Program of WWF and the Singapore-based Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA). Another study is currently underway to determine the long-term costs to human health and wildlife.
Fires are also destroying forests and wildlife in Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia, Russia, Australia, Rwanda and several other countries.
Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon in 1995 reached the highest level ever recorded --29,000 square kilometers, an area equivalent to New Jersey and Connecticut in a single burning season. --Environmental Defense Fund

Every day, over 2500 American children witness the divorce or separation of their parents.
Every day, 90 kids are taken from their parents' custody and committed to foster homes.
Every day, 13 Americans aged 15 to 24 commit suicide, and another 16 are murdered.
Since the first members of our generation were born (1961), America has experienced a 560 percent increase in violent crime, a 400 percent increase in births to unwed mothers, a tripling in teenage suicide, and a drop of almost 80 points in SAT scores. As prevailing winds and ocean currents carry PCBs toward the poles, these chemicals are still increasing in cetacean tissue in Antarctic and northern Pacific waters. There has been little or no decline in the widespread persistent organochlorine chemical pollution of marine animal tissue since the mid 1980s.
Large cetaceans carry PCBs and structurally similar chemicals at or above the concentrations that are linked with significant neurological impairment in humans. Current background levels of PCBs, dioxins, and furans in humans have been found to alter thyroid hormone levels and weaken the offspring’s immune system.
Mercury contamination of both freshwater and marine mammal tissue is increasing at a startling rate in some parts of the world. Mercury’s effect on the nervous system and intelligence is well documented. Recent findings suggest that the immune systems of some cetaceans, e.g. beluga whales, are exceptionally sensitive to mercury.
Organotin (organic tin) compounds, such as those found in paint used on ships, continue to pose a threat to cetaceans’ food base and perhaps directly to their health. Organotin compounds interfere with sex organ development, often readily visible in marine animals lower in the trophic system, and interfere with reproductive success. They also attack the thymus gland, suppressing immune function.
The atmospheric transport of currently-used pesticides to the Arctic, where they accumulate at the air-water interface, ice edges, and in surface fog, poses both a direct and indirect threat to cetaceans. Among these newly discovered compounds are several herbicides designed to inhibit photosynthesis. Their effects on essential algal and diatom blooms must be investigated for possible disturbance of the foundation of the food web on which cetaceans depend. These chemicals are invading the cetacean summering grounds where whales feast before they move south to fast for as long as six months. The herbicides are found in the highest concentrations at the same time of the year as the critical annual algal bloom.

The Earth's limited supply of natural resources will only be able to sustain 2 billion humans by 2100, bad news for a world that already feeds 5.9 billion.
The world's total population will reach six billion by mid-1999. --Reuters.
Farm animals consume nearly half the world's cereal produce. Growing grain to feed animals to turn them into meat is an inefficient business- an acre of cereals can produce five times more protein than an acre devoted to meat production.
The United States makes up less than 5 percent of the total population on earth. Yet, we currently consume over 30 percent of all the resources.
For the $25 it might cost to insulate the average 12-window, two-door house, you could save 10 percent or more of your yearly heating bill.
If every gas-heated home were properly caulked and weather-stripped, enough natural gas would be saved each year to heat another 4 million homes.
Simple heavy drapes attached to windows with a valance could save about $10 per window in heating costs each winter.

Our Climate

1997 was the warmest year on record. Global warming is now happening faster than at any time in the last 10,000 years, and the 10 warmest years on record have been experienced during the last two decades.
Scientists agree the most likely cause is pollution of the Earth's atmosphere with greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide from the burning of coal, oil, and gas to produce energy and fuel automobiles.
Higher temperatures cause water volume to expand. In the case of the world’s oceans, the effects are visible in rising sea levels (10-25 centimeters, on average, this century). Sea-level rise can in turn have a negative impact on coastal erosion and flooding of low-lying areas, cause greater storm damage, make coral reefs more vulnerable, affect salinity and ecosystems in mangroves and wetlands and cause more pollution from land to drain into the ocean.
Higher temperatures are melting glaciers and polar ice, altering arctic and Antarctic habitats and further endangering species like the polar bear, walrus, whales, coral reefs, migrating birds, nearly all forms of life, as well as adding to sea level rise.
The Pacific Ocean west of California has warmed by 1.5 degrees Celsius, which has triggered declines of zooplankton and the disappearance of an estimated 4 million sea birds.
The Northeast states have experienced the warmest January through June period since climate records were first kept in 1895. --ENN 7/7/98
The Bering Glacier in Alaska has shrunk by 10-12 km in length during the last century, losing 130sq km in area
Human activities are causing some greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, to build up in the atmosphere. Whenever we burn fossil fuels (gasoline, oil, coal or natural gas), more carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere. Forest destruction and agriculture also release greenhouse gases.
Since the industrial revolution, CO2 gases emitted into the atmosphere have increased by 27%. Another greenhouse gas, methane, has more than doubled.
If we do not act to reduce our emissions of these heat-trapping gases, it is predicted that global temperature could rise 2° to 6° F in the next 100 years. Just a few degrees' difference in the global average temperature can mean a major climate change.

Many endangered orangutans in Indonesia are facing a triple-edged tragedy immediate death by fire; death from poachers if they escape the fires; or death by starvation because the fruit trees on which they rely will take several years to recover.
According to recent biological surveys, the planet is now losing a species of plant or animal life to extinction every sixty minutes. Within the next decade, we may lose nearly 20 percent of all the remaining species of life on earth. Most of these species exist in remote areas and have not yet been seen by human eyes.
The World Conservation Monitoring Center (WCMC), IUCN -- the World Conservation Union, and WWF recently announced that at least 10% of the world’s known tree species face extinction, including 259 species in the US.
The forests of the Klamath-Siskiyous in northern California support more conifer species and rare plants and animals than any temperate conifer forest in the world.
According to Vice President Al Gore, we are losing species of animals and plants 1000 times faster than at any time in the past 65 million years. (Earth in the Balance)
In the past decade and a half, dusky shark numbers off the Atlantic coast of the United States have declined by at least 80 percent from overfishing.
In 1900 there were 100,00 tigers in the world, and today there are fewer than 6,000. -- ENN Daily News.
In the past 200 years, the United States has lost 50 percent of its wetlands, 90 percent of its northwestern old-growth forests, 99 percent of its tall grass prairie, and up to 490 species of native plants and animals. --ENN
"We are in the midst of a mass extinction, an event not seen since the disappearance of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago." --Worldwatch Institute, in a study Losing Stands in the Web of Life: Vertebrate Declines and the Conservation of Biological Diversity.
Only habitat loss ranks as more serious threat, affecting 85% of our vanishing species, while alien species affect 49%. Alien species ranks well ahead of pollution (24%), overharvest (17%), and disease (3%) as threats to biodiversity. Agriculture and commercial development are identified as the two most widespread causes of habitat loss for wildlife, affecting 38% of imperiled species, followed by commercial development (35%) and water development (30%). --from: For the Ecological X-Files: Proof that Aliens are Destroying Endangered Species, Environmental Defense Fund.

Each gallon of gas burned releases 22 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In a year, the average car emits five tons of carbon dioxide into the air. With over 120 million automobiles in the United States, automobile emissions account for 33 percent of all carbon dioxide and 45 percent of all nitrous oxide released into the sky, making the car the single largest contributor to global warming.
The automobile is also responsible for 60 percent of the total air pollution in most U.S. cities. Cars emit 69 percent of all the lead, 70 percent of the carbon monoxide and are responsible for 60 percent of the ground ozone.
Half of all automobile trips in the United States are under three miles, a distance that could be waked in less than one hour at no appreciable cost to the environment or pocketbook.
Air pollution costs the US as much as $40 billion annually in health care and lost economic productivity. (Worldwatch State of the World Report)
Lighting accounts for 25 percent of North American electricity use. Substituting a fluorescent light for a traditional bulb can keep a half ton of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere over the duration of the lightbulb's lifespan.
New York gets 99% of its transportation energy--and half its air pollution--from petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel. --Clean powered Cars of Future on Display Today, by Corydon Ireland--Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

White Whale forces Military Retreat in US-Australian War Games

    </a>
<div>Migaloo, the white humpback whale, is forcing the USA and Australian military forces to reconsider using the Great Barrier reef for war games. The USA and Australian Defence forces have faced down a civil disobedience peace campaign against their Talisman Sabre War Games, from June 19 to July 2, at Shoalwater Bay near Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia, only to come up against the white whale!

Hundreds of people protested outside the restricted area near Rockhampton, Queensland, with many attempting to enter the area, several actually succeeding (Video) and evading capture for a number of days. (Audio reports: 1, 2, 3) But still the military exercise continued, although possibly in a slightly subdued form. Now the combined military forces are facing another threat - a very rare and distinctive white humpback whale by the name of Migaloo has been sighted heading towards the exercise area, and the miltary are being forced to back off from endangering this beautiful creature.

Sydney IMC | Peace Convergence | Migaloo website
This has forced the Military to strategically retreat. Commander Peter Lockwood from the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) was reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that special precautions have been taken to protect marine mammals, and that other sites are being considered for future exercises. "At the moment we've got all the environmental risk mitigation strategies in place and we're quite comfortable we can conduct this activity quite safely here without harming Migaloo." he said.

Nearly 30,000 US and Australian military personnel are involved in the Exercise Talisman Sabre war games at Shoalwater Bay near Rockhampton, including 120 military aircraft, tanks and 30 warships, including nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines.

But future military exercises may be moved, Commander Lockwood said, "There are potential other areas around Australia that we're looking at to conduct activities like this," he said. "At the moment there's a section in the Northern Territory which we're looking at as a possible future site for activities like this."

The white humpback whale, Migaloo, was first sighted in 1991 and is the only white humpback whale recorded, even according to whaling records (Moby Dick was reputed to be a sperm whale). Each year Migaloo migrates from its summer feeding grounds in Antarctic waters, along the east coast of Australia, to winter breeding grounds on the Great Barrier Reef. The Pacific Whale Foundation gave Migaloo his name in 1992 after consulting with Aboriginal elders in the Hervey Bay area of Queensland. 'Migaloo' means 'white fella' in the Hervey Bay aboriginal language. The name has been recently trademarked by a businessman, Brian Meldon, for its marketing use in the areas of cosmetics, clothing, animation and toys/games, to the disgust of many indigenous and non-indigenous people.

Dean Jefferys, a Filmmaker and whale/peace activist, who has just returned from a week of peace protests at Shoalwater Bay said, "Migaloo faces possible death by sonar at the Talisman Sabre war games now occurring in central Queensland".

The US nuclear submarines involved in the exercise use Low frequency active sonar. A report released by delegates at the International Whaling Commission meeting in Alaska earlier this year condemned the use of military sonar in the Great Barrier Reef marine park and its dangerous effects on whales and dolphins as part of the Talisman Sabre 07 war games.

Dean Jefferys said "Low frequency active sonar, the type used by U.S. submarines, is a known cause of whale and dolphin beachings. Scientists are so sure that active sonar kills cetaceans that they have banned the use of sonar in the oceans off Hawaii. Even the U.S. navy admit that sonar causes beachings and whale deaths. I would hate to see Migaloo the icon of the humpback migration wash ashore dead at Shoalwater Bay. This sonar is dangerous and potentially lethal to whales and all cetaceans. I am asking the US military as a matter of extreme urgency to stop all use of active sonar in this sensitive marine ecosystem."

Environmental spokesperson for the Peace Convergence Kim Stewart, said, "Sonar causes the animals to panic, surface too quickly and get “the bends”, brain hemorrhages and cause them to become disoriented and hence beach themselves. Sonar is also known to affect other species such as turtles and fish, reducing the fertility of their eggs and resonating in fish swim bladders causing internal injuries.”

“The military are telling us that sonar does not travel far from it’s source, so they can monitor the presence of cetaceans. However, active sonar can travel hundreds of kilometres, making monitoring unlikely.”

“The military are giving the public assurances that their activities in the Great Barrier Reef will not harm the environment. But the fact is, they cannot avoid it. The everyday munitions and maintainence chemicals contain contaminants including heavy metals and perchlorate and are known to harm the environment. The military’s Public Environment Report has basically ignored the concerns of environmentalists on this issue,” said Ms Stewart.

In early June Australian Navy officials refused to comment on the threat of military sonar to marine species, but Lt. Steve Curry of the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet said by e-mail reported in SciTech Today that the US Navy would do everything it can to prevent whale fatalities. "The Navy is committed to the continued use of active sonar and goes to great lengths to minimize any potential effects on marine life through the use of protective measures," he wrote.

Marsha Green of the Ocean Mammal Institute, also reported in Scitech Today, said "The reality is the strandings are only the tip of the iceberg. Most of the animals that are injured are going to die and sink to the bottom."

Perhaps Migaloo the humpback whale is just repaying the efforts of Greenpeace, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and the millions of people around the world who have campaigned for the protection of whales. Ironically, he could be harpooned by a Japanese whaler next southern summer (December 2007 - March 2008) when the Japanese Whaling fleet embark on the 'scientific' slaughter of 50 humpback whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, as well as slaughtering 900 Mincke whales.</div>

    </a>
<div>I want to talk of you.
Gather you up in myself
and deliver you out like a dark flower.
A radiance
lightly attired in a negligee of form.
You breathe for me
and sweeten the sinews of this life.
You speak for me
so that my words reflect your eyes.
I touch you in the delicate darkness
where your body turns over in my flesh.
I wet my fingers in your presence.
You move over my tongue
as shadow-dances of desire.
You wear me as a glove of your being
but you are also the hand that opens me
and feeds me.
I want to talk of you
but I have no images as bright or as dark
as your light
so I talk of what you are
in-between the spaces of all these words.
The golden and ebony taste
of your caress.
The subtle intoxications
and intimate pleasures
as we lay down in this room of you.
The smell of your communion
alluring my every sense.
Those moments
when I am your quickened pulse
in your singing blood,
and where I am both the singer and the song,
the dance and the dancer
of this sensual tango
of our awareness in each other.
Yet you are the colour that cannot be painted,
the word too great to utter,
the figure that cannot be drawn
but only felt as a movement of a love
so deeply involved and spun
that the loom itself is woven into the thread.
To speak of Sophia
is to surrender to her.
I can only show you the depth
from the reflected surface.
The curl and wave of her hair
in this passing phenomena of myself.
