Sigh** OK here we go... Another self description…
I’m your basic run of the mill gamer geek. I like everyone else have my own unique quirks, but tend to think of myself as a fairly normal guy. I think I am a craftsman before anything else. I love to work with my hands and love to have people admire things I have created. Because of this I think most of my friends are sick of getting leather gifts for Christmas / birthdays. I have tried just about every craft out there, but leatherworking seems to be where my focus has settled. Friends tell me I should make a go of doing it professionally, but I have avoided that so far because I know that anything (no matter how much you love it) when you do it for 8 hours a day becomes a job, and it makes me sick to think that one day I might hate the thought of working on leather. Aside from making stuff I am as I said earlier a gaming geek. I play both board games and Role-Playing games. Yeah I am a guy in his 30s that still plays D&D. But ya know what I enjoy it, and so long as I can find people to play with I’ll keep playing. I am also sorta into the SCA. I used to be a lot more active, but since moving to Allentown I have really slowed down on going to smaller events. I keep telling myself I should get more involved in my local shire, but I just never seem to find the time. So for now I take in 3-4 local events a year and then of coarse Pennsic and War Practice, and that is about it. Anyway those are the highlights. If ya wanna know anything else just ask. I am a pretty easy going guy and love meeting new people.

I log on to tribe today for the first time in months and the first message I read is from D’ner saying how he won’t be coming to tribe anymore because of hate ads. I found out from reading the responses to D’ner’s post that apparently in my absence Tribe was running pro Prop 8 ads. So anyone that does not want to read a political rant please hit your browsers back button now.

OK I warned you. I AM SICK TO DEATH OF HEARING ABOUT GAY MARRIAGE! What kind of bigot do you have to be to think that two people who love each other wanting to get married is a bad thing?! What ticks me off even more is that the religious right is putting this issue up on a banner like it’s the most important issue facing the nation. Like if we let gay people get married GOD will send swarms of angels with flaming swords down burn the whole country to ash! Well FUCK YOU religious right! I am tired of your moral wars. I hope Prop 8 gets declared unconstitutional. Not only that but I hope we pass an amendment guaranteeing gay rights like we did with blacks and with women. Not that I think we should need such a thing in this day and age, but because the presence of such an amendment would prevent any attempt by the bigoted radical right religious idiots from trying it again! I find it offensive that our government is even discussing this shit. How can this be anything other than disenfranchisement of an entire sector of the population? It’s like the country took a step back to 1908, rather than 2008, when racism and bigotry were enshrined in law. What’s next preventing gays from attending public school? Maybe force them to have a separate toilet? Drinking fountains? Hell why don’t we just make it illegal to be gay?! Besides... doesn’t our government have bigger problems right now than moral issues? With a crumbling economy, two foreign wars, a failing health car system, a runaway national deficit, a potentially nuclear capable Iran, and North Korea, Pirates in Africa, Russia invading our allies, and our government is arguing over people who are or are not allowed to get married!
So I am sitting in the lunch room at my new job today and people are watching TV and talking politics. Being the new guy I am just kinda sitting there smiling and nodding and not really giving my opinion mostly because it occurred to me that my opinion would not be very popular with my new coworkers, but I have to comment on one thing I heard that I think is probably the most bone head stupid thing I have ever heard someone say seriously.

There was this guy who very vocally claimed he was a McCain supporter because he could not stand the class war politics the democrats play. Well I thought about this all during lunch and the more I thought about it the more stupid I thought it was. First… I think that BOTH parties are fighting a class war. But the real stupid thing is… This guy was squarely middle class just like me. Democrats (including Obama) historically cut taxes on the middle class and raise wages and lower unemployment. Which means if there is a class war… The democrats are on his side! Sheeples annoy me!
Use one word to describe me. Then copy and paste into your blog and I'll do the same for you

OK so I have been out of touch and not on-line for a LONG LONG TIME. Last blog I posted I told you all about my girlfriend, and things are trucking right along. I have a new place, and I am getting it all set up in anticipation of her arrival. I have been working HUGE amounts of overtime at work and I have been loaned out to one of our clients and working in their offices for the last three weeks so I have not had net access at work. Working over at THPs offices is more hectic and fast paced than in my office, but So far it has been a refreshing change of pace and the people over there are pretty nice.

Anyway I am hoping I can catch up on the HUNDREDS of messages I am behind and start chatting with everyone again. I am starting to get Pennsic Fever now that the weather is getting nice and I have already started making plans for all sorts of projects I will need to complete.
OK I know it has been almost 6 months since my last blog… Some of you may be wondering what has been happening in my life.

The biggest and most important news I have to report is that I’ve fallen totally in love with the woman I spent all of last pennsic with and who I have talked on the phone with nearly every day for about a year. She is actually on tribe Siobhan Drach for those who care she is in my friends list. This might come as a bolt out of the blue for some of you. I feel like I am revealing some big secret or something. It’s not that we kept our relationship a secret… it’s that we were actually denying we were in a relationship all this time. You see she lives in Detroit and I live in Allentown, and we both say we do not believe in long distance relationships (at least we did until we found ourselves in one). Well finally over a visit we had at Christmas we stopped kidding ourselves and admitted that we love each other and started hatching schemes to relocate to be with each other. To make a long story short she is moving to Philadelphia (well Philly area) to attend a master’s degree program in acupuncture, and I will be moving in with her (or her with me, or something like that)! Woo Hoo! I get to see her EVERY DAY! This will be happening sometime in the late spring early summer (we’re thinking June or July if we can wait that long). I’ve already begun the apartment search and I could be moving with in the next couple months… she will then move in when ever she gets things wrapped up in Detroit. The odd karmic thing about the geographic move is that I will actually be moving closer to work! As it stands now I already drive an hour to work every day I will likely cut that commute at least in half no matter where in the area we end up. So I guess the land of Fearghus will soon be the land of Fearghus and Siobhan!
