It's still winter. Insane. David bar-be-qued this weekend in 70+ weather, and now he's shoveling snow. I've had more trouble this winter than I have in memory. I don't typically have winter blues, but now I know what they are. I really need spring. At least in less than three days' time we'll be on our way to Spain. If there's snow there, I'm not sure what I'll do...

My peer recently had a birthday of some import. We celebrated in the best way. Four of us (just girls--or should that be "women of a certain age") high-tailed it out of town and headed for Lake of the Ozarks. We stayed at Tan-Tar-A for the weekend. We shopped all day Saturday. And Kasha is definitely going to give me projects. My first is to learn music theory, rather than to keep half-assing it the way I have been. She got me a book and everything. I love Pachelbel. I even listen to stuff beyond Canon in D. I know, I know. It's for simple-minded folk. Well, I guess I am, 'cause it pushes all my right buttons. Do you love Pachelbel? This guy does . . . well, sorta.

We're home from Youth Ministry Scripture Walk (a fancy way of saying high school Bible study. Tonight we had seven boys and one girl show up. It's weird to look at them and to be able to label them so quickly. It seems like yesterday that I was the nerdy kid full of energy. But that was a long time ago, and now I'm the grown up, watching these kids and thinking "hmmm... ax murderer, politician, ax murderer, personal injury lawyer, ax murderer...
