Ferrous! Ferrous! He's our man! If he can't do it, um... well ok I probably could. But he should be your first choice!

How do I feel about Ferrous? Sometimes I fantasize about that handkerchief of his and all that lovely curly hair and how tall he is and about the Earth being God's church and I actually think about dirt being grinded into the small of my back...and then I think: "Damn hippie!" And I'm screaming it in the dream..."damn hippie! damn hippie!" and he's like..."buttercup would've worked."

Names have been changed to protect...

So I went and paid 15$ to watch this movie last night. So did what seemed like the entire art community of Calgary. I even brought a few non-arty friends along as an experiment. And we were all agreed.

Drawing restraint is a steaming, putrid pile of excrement that Barney and Bjork smear all over each other for two hours while the audience, wrapt with some sort of desperate desire to really see the movie as the amazing masterpiece that they think it must be based on how much it is "worth". ... read more

Focus:

When having a conversation, you create a bubble outside of which, for a short time, there exists nothing but 2 egos. Sculpture should utilize this quality. It has a certain charisma. There are many types of charisma though, just look around yourself. If each successive piece of work possesses the same type of charisma, it becomes a "style".

What would the counter-part of focus be?

Contrast:

Contrast is like context and concept. Just as contrast is meaningless without focus;... read more

"The ability to read and write became almost a minor skill, like driving a car" C.G

I see what he's saying, but it brings to mind this one idiot who was TEXTING ON HER CELL PHONE while driving. And not just at a light, in a fast lane on the freeway. Yikes.

I've thought that Greenburg's fears about kitsche are being disproven. I optimistically tender the notion that pop culture is slowly becoming more conscious of its context... perhaps even more beneficial. The obvious examples would b... read more

So,

You are having a coversation with a friend.

Someone you know intimately, yet since you know them so intimately... and can see their most glaring errors... (of logic, of technique, of ideology (of course, they can probably see yours too)) you feel comfortable discussing some very deeply percieved truths about reality. This conversation progresses to a point of contention. Niether of you would ever budge. The logic is clear on both sides. Yet. You feel that they are missing some... read more

Today, it feels a little easier. I unblocked her from msn and we've been talking. That made me feel better. Its pretty hard to just ditch someone who has been a good, even best friend as well as a lover for 2 years. So we're talking anyway, and it feels like a pressure release valve to all the anguish of missing her. Also I somehow feel like its better that we are apart now that we've talked about how we are gonna relate to each other. I'm not sure how that makes sense.

I've been w... read more
