She moves with cat like grace, her eyes piercing with intensity.
A beauty captivated. A spirit with a grip on reality, she moves me… Derek May 1, 2006
Have you seen the way this woman smiles when she spins fire? If you haven’t, you should.

Jessamyn, she so crazy! The trick is to ride the wave of her energy, and see what's all around. [Wow!] Her life is inspiring and her ability to laugh in the face of adversity is awesome. Share with her your magic and she'll do the same for you.

about me
I am a pagan, firespinning, bellydancing vet for horses. My dream is to meld my training in Western style medicine with the more holistic and hands-on approach of Eastern medicine/ "alternative" modalities- I am already a certified myotherapist as well as attuned to Reiki II, and intend to gain more knowledge in chiropractics and acupuncture.
I like to stay fit and healthy, practicing dancing with my poi at the gym 5 days a week- and recently took up trail running through the woods. It is my lifeline to sanity! I eat well, try to stay sugar free and practice cooking with things like Stevia to indulge my passion for chocolate... you should try my ice cream sometime, it's devine. I am also moving more towards conscientious living than ever before- consuming less, wasting less, buying in bulk and in general leaving a lighter footprint if possible. It's hard! I've been so inspired recently to return to these ideals with vigor, return to my Self, to balance and harmony with our lovely Earth. I have been blessed lately with knowing my soulmate...

I am on Tribe less and less these days, so the gaps between blogs are greater. Oh well! So all summer I have tried to figure out what is going on with my belly. Before I left C'bus, I was trying to understand the cause of bloat and pain (and ppprrrrffffttt!) that I was suffering. I was getting back into raw after taking the winter off... I just couldn't do raw, I was freezing too much! Anyway I was getting back into smoothies and eating mostly fruit and whole, good foods... and suffering...

We have settled on moving up to the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest area, which is hilly and green and looks a whole lot like western MA! It's fabulous. Ravines, hills, trees, rivers and streams; lots and lots of parks to hike in; lots of good horse farms and so forth. So, we started driving around looking for where we wanted to live, see if we could catch a "for rent" sign. And we DID! How lucky! We found a place right on the edge of the CVNF, 5 mins from my office and 10 mins from his...

I finished my internship today at OSU... that part of my life is finally over! With my bike packed in the back of the vet truck, I went in for the final time... handed over the truck, keys and cell phone to the new intern, after orienting her to how I had everything set up. No more OSU.

Things were up in the air concerning my apartment and new job. It took many resumes and three months, with only two real interviews granted, until I got a job... at the very last minute. Still, it's ... read more
So! I finally got a job! After months of sending resumes, calling and hearing the same story over and over "bad economy, we're not hiring, not expanding..." and weeks of interviews, with no satisfaction, I finally found a place I click with and it worked out! I'm very excited. I'll be working at a place where I'll be doing 70% equine and 30% small animal, with an amazing on call schedule that I can handle. The base pay isn't great, but the rest is made up out of what I make on emergency ...

It's up and running, the project Alex and I have worked so hard to pull together! Months of hard practice at acroyoga, drinking lots of wine to get enough broken glass, making a bed of nails, painting the banner, sewing the costumes... and it has all paid off!

This past weekend we had our debut at one of OSU's vet school parties. We figured we'd start there, see what kind of response we got, from people who (more or less) know us, or of us. It was a blast! Despite utter failure of our ... read more
