I have never enjoyed defining myself with words, spoken or written, especially in public venues such as tribe. In fact, I have been repelled by it, strongly opposed to it and sure that doing so was a spurious act- for to define was to confine. This certainty was my fallacy: my refusal to define was actually the source of my confinement. My resistance kept aspects of my self bound up tightly.
