Jaime is beautiful and green with new life energy - she glows and grows in all directions at once - and that's an exciting energy to be around!

Jamie and I haven't met yet....yet is the key word....but I feel like she's been my friend forever....this life and past lives. She's kind hearted, genuine, beautiful and full of life. Jamie always sees the postitive side of things, knowing what to say and how to say it just the right way. She has been through so much and rises like a phoenix from the ashes. She's just one more reason why dance is so close to me. It's because I meet such amazing women, like her, that make my life better and more beautiful. Nothing goes unexplained. She lets you right into her heart. And I'll tell ya, I want a Greenman tattoo now! Maybe I'll just settle for a small one :) xoxo

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Jaimie in person (at least not yet), but her taste in ink and her obviously high pain tolerance (see tattoo) impress me to no end! She's a smart cookie too :-)

about me
"Give me a woman who's taken her knocks, Who's tasted both gutter and stars. Give me a lady with holes in her socks. Give me a princess with scars."

Being okay with yourself is the most necessary thing for being able to live your life right. To know yourself, to respect yourself, to be unafraid to say what you think or do what you want to do and to make no apologies to anyone for who and what you are, to be unafraid to step away from those who try to stifle that about you or tell you that you are wrong for being honest. You must find your Self, hold it, nurture it, learn to live comfortably with it even when it makes others uncomfortable.

I am ME. I am a Rollergirl. I am a Burner. I am a bellydancer, moving with the earth in strong beauty. I play with fire. I am a survivor of domestic abuse and nobody can tell me to keep my mouth shut about it anymore. I am a human being with a VOICE. I am proudly and beautifully tattooed, and it's not over yet. I am a nerd. I am a huge potty-mouth. I'm loud and blunt and honest. I am compassionate and passionate. I adore spontaneity but I also like to make plans. Music affects me on a very deep emotional and spiritual level. I love to sing and I'm fairly OK on my celtic harp. I'm a big goober and I love to laugh. I believe that stuffed animals have feelings. I like to climb trees and swing on swings. My roller skates are my favorite shoes. I love making stuff, mostly costumes and jewelry and dolls but I'm not picky. Everything fascinates me. I like looking at people's stuff because it helps me to know them. I will talk to just about anyone because they might tell me something important that teaches me. I love rich, bright colors. I like to find beauty in all kinds of things and create from it. I find other cultures beautiful and holy. I am spiritually eclectic and I believe in things that make sense to me. I like to hug people. I adore artistic therapy.

"Dance when you're broken open;
Dance when you've torn the bandage off
Dance in the middle of fighting
Dance in your blood
Dance when you're perfectly free.
Struck, the dancer hears a tambourine inside her
Like a wave that crests into foam at the very top begins.
Maybe you don't hear that tambourine or the tree leaves clapping time
Close the ears on your head, they listen mostly to lies and cynical jokes;
There are other things to see, and hear: Music. A brilliant city inside your soul."
- Rumi

My favorite thing about life is that bad things turn into good things. All things will die and be reborn in good time. Whether or not you see that is up to you. Lush, green life grows best when you toss a lot of shit on it. Your suffering makes you whole and it gives you compassion when you can be selfless enough to accept it. Life shifts its shape too often to keep up. I stopped having expectations and I just wait to see what happens next.

"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life." - Krishnamurti

"The Invitation" by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring in your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being a human.
It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithful and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty, even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "YES!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn't interest me who you know, or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me where, or what, or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

My Blog

Was it ever! The crowd in Santa Fe was a superb audience for one, and they absolutely loved it. Duke City's Munecas Muertas (our all-star travel team) beat the West Texas RollerDollz by a landslide in the first game of the double-header, and 'Burque (my team) beat Santa Fe's Disco Brawlers by about 60 points as well. It was an excellent first game for me. I got way more track time than I was expecting, and it was awesome. I felt really good about how I did, and I know where I need improvement... read more

I just got confirmation from my tattoo shop that the spread on them is coming out in this month's issue of Tattoo Magazine (will hit stands Tuesday March 11). They sent a photographer down in late November to shoot work from all the artists at the shop, and Jespah called me to have me come down and get photographed. The coolest thing EVER?!?!?! A photo of my back made it into the spread. Uh-huh, that's right, Vertuminus is achieving national fame. The article is on Tinta Cantina Tattoo of Alb... read more

So I had lunch with Amber today at my favorite sushi place. As I am leaving the parking lot, I stop at the driveway to clear my right turn, and I see this man coming down the sidewalk toward my car. I think to myself "Why is that man painted blue? This is Central Avenue, not Burning Man..." And then I suddenly realized that THE ENIGMA is walking toward me and staring right at me. I think my eyes bugged out because he slowed down and I rolled my window down and said, "Hey! Hi!!! Are you The En... read more
