Matt passed over a lucrative career as a swimsuit model to practice public interest law, saving several small planets from extinction along the way. Your life will only be complete when you come to know Matt.

about me
Irreverent and passionate extrovert, political junkie, unrepentant hedonist, unreformed overachiever, pragmatic doer and wide-eyed dreamer. Spiritual seeker, healer, musician, writer and teacher. Strong-willed and emotionally aware with voracious intellectual curiosity and a gnawing hunger for new experiences. Struggling to walk the fine line between engaged and overwhelmed, and to temper cold logic with a blazing heart.
Values simple joys, readily jumps into random hot tubs, and dances with abandon. Afflicted with a chronic case of insatiable wanderlust and occasionally glides slightly off the beaten path in foreign lands.
Plays guitar and tries to write meaningful and edgy folk songs about love, social injustice, making a stir fry, and hunting for a parking space in San Francisco. Hopelessly addicted to poi spinning and often found in the park twirling fire with a variety of circus freaks. Evolving towards an equanimous mind, loose hamstrings, and fiercely buzzing chakras through meditiation, reiki and yoga. Hopes to someday be capable of assuming a perfect downward dog and to master the Ashtanga primary series.
Old enough to understand that learning never ends. Ready to explore passionate connections with potentially life-altering consequences or just those that induce temporary but transformative bliss.
After almost four months of exploring various outposts in the corners of Europe, I recently set sail from the tip of southern Spain and traversed the straits of Gilbraltar to place my feet on a new continent. Since arriving in the fascinating and exotic land of Morocco slightly more than ten days ago, I have wandered the old markets of Tangiers, hiked amidst the Rif mountains, and admired the winding and dramatic blue-streaked streets of Chefchaouen. Here in my current home of Fes, I am rep...

Guided by the winds of fate, I am considering attending the 2008 European Juggling Convention in Karlsruhe, Germany during the first week of August before heading off to the Boom festival in Portugal. Is anyone within our community of freaky spinners and flow artists planning to go? Any insights into whether the event is worth attending?
Connections, suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all you wonderful people.

As my journey flows through Turkey, the fates are smiling. Through a combination of sheer luck and divine providence I continue to meet wonderful people, connect into welcoming communities and receive surprising generosity from strangers. After a blissful week on the shores of the Mediterranean at a nearly hidden beach oasis, I have traveled East to the heart of fabled Cappadocia to investigate ancient underground cities spread throughout this other-worldly landscape. Within days I will cr...

Greetings from the sunny, vibrant, and magical streets of Istanbul. More than one week ago I bid farewell to India and relocated to the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The transition is proving somewhat jarring -- the streets are clean, no one stares at me, and the prices feel astronomical by comparison with India. I am admiring thousand year old mosques and ornate palaces, savoring long-forgotten culinary delights (with at least one kebab per day), connecting with local fire spinners to sh...

It's been an exciting ride since arriving in India over six weeks ago. My introduction to this crazy land commenced with five days of exploring the national capital of Delhi, a pilgrimage to the spiritual center of Hardiwar, and joining the Dreamtime Circus for the last month of their tour. After the end of this fabulous circus tour, I prayed for guidance at the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal and, a few days later, flew down south to decompress in the high-tech city of Bangalore. My current locat...
