This year I get to judge. Already I can see several competitors are from Ontario and from other regions of Eastern Canada. Both year previously I competed and now I get to watch. Im not sure how I feel being at a competition and merely making small ticks on a score sheet!
Im proud to be a part of this huge competition with over 70 competitors. A part of me wants that spot light again, but I have learned humility on my way to being a great performer. I wish all of the competitors luck.

just before the blood ballet grad, the performers decided to perform a freshman finally, featuring all of our hot dancers. Summoning spirits and addressing all the issues of that freshmen face, clichés such as nerds, crushes, and a little weird science, teachers and students unite for one final bloody feature.

May 1st was a great show for pyrometheus, we were thrown in on the fly with the director of the show with no previous rehearsal and still the audience loved every second of it. I wore a tribal cloth and chased her around the stage with fire eating torches, then when I lit my mask and tied up the host my partner lady torch lit her fire fingers and began the flame touch torture, fortunately the host got away before we got too crazy

I witnessed a strange series of events in the old port the other night, I was busking with my partner when e ere approached by one of the business owners, at first we pretended to be from out of town but then when the guy opened up to us and said I would like to have you guys perform in front of my restaurant we changed our toon a little bit. Man what a festival, the first of its kind and I am so glad to be a part of it. The love the fire and the sweat lodge. Such an amazing experience, the labrynth was differant every day, the chill tent was sweet and the main stage with the adding of art and other entertainment. Canada day was epic, Worked the tag team pitch besid stunt double circus and showed my rookie partner how to feed the circle. After like 10 shows on the middle of Rideau street, I headed up to meet a fair ammount of the Local fire group from Ottawa. We had 3 spinners at a time and 4 safety personel with 2 large extinguisher and a huge 25 foot safety blanket. This is the first time the city has worked with the local fire folks. I think its time we get serious for next year.

The circle acts have united and our voices heard the city had bent to our will. By not enforcing the rules the buskers again are self governing system in place, the circle acts have returned to the tradition of draw and cue. Now tell me what the point was again to having the permit....oh ya right I forgot its Ottawas money grab...well not in my pockets.

From the powers that be a street performers spot is black listed in the byward market. Conditions of the permit state that busking by the Pour House is prohibited. The reson behind this is to prevent circle shows from flowing onto the road blocking oncoming traffic. I had a mad fire show for tag entertainment in Burnaby at a place called Can Am Importique on saturday, very nice outdoor indoor movie prop rental warehouse, the audience trickled in around quarter past ten, they arrived in limos and dressed to impress. several shows took place throughout the evening such as breakdancers, arial silk, magic and two fire performers. alas the great busker city state falls, the last free space where artists can truly have the freedom of expression. The truly great musicians refuse to perform in Ottawa because of lack of artistic vibe and now this 200$ YEARLY PERMIT FEE. Et tu Ottawa. I see politics hath been with u. My first show was today at 3pm it was a success, great crowd for its size, wonderful cheering and decent tip out. The organiser requested no audience participation ( I didnt use fire) No throwing of fire ( which means no juggling, Poi or fire staff) which is 90% of my street act. for almost a month, the competition was fierce, singers dancer and djs competed for a thousand and sum in cash and prizes, on the last day, down to the wire. Fire Phoenix wins it by half a point... the determining factor showmanship.

i have seen many performers some good some bad, but what really defines a performer is one who can make the show not have the show make them.
