we met under optimal circumstances, a plethora of goofballs, ballades of bad 80s music, and a bottle of champagne. throw in a fire on top of that and it was pure magical perfection. he is all greek right down to the confidence, beauty, and strength. you told me once that the good guy never wins. you are sorely mistaken. there is not one person you meet who isnt immediately better for having doing so. your charm is undeniable, your stories are captivating, your sense of self is intimidating, and your kindness is rare. it would be a challenge to give you back everything you have already given me.

his accent's all new york but this guy's got a heart the size of texas and a smile to match and is, i think, the only person who's ever gotten me to watch a boxing match in front of a television and have a good time. i've known him for practically a decade at this point - we were fortunate enough to experience a new york that no longer exists - a wilder and less-policed place where we could blow shit up on the williamsburg waterfront. when he first told me he wanted to move to LA and learn to fly helicopters i thought that was the nuttiest thing i'd ever heard - and i thought he was even more insane when he went and DID IT. eventually tho, i got a clue and realized how fucking COOL that was. in fact, that act now makes more sense to me than most things do. justin, you've been more of an inspiration to me than you could ever know. you rock in the hardest way.
