James makes my head hurt, but in a good way!

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about boobs. About how much I like them: and I decided that there is nothing wrong with that. You see, boobs are simply a secondary female sexual charteristic, so wanting to be around them just means that you enjoy the company of sexually mature women. The thing I think that many people don't understand is that it is not really the type of boob that keeps and atteaction persistant, it is to whom they are attached. James is much like a boob: he is kinda squishy and fun to be around, and he keeps cool people near-by. There are some diffeences as well: unlike boobs, I don't really want to fondle him.

I met James and thought, "Wow! A nerd in Honolulu!" I hadn't met any nerds here yet--nor any red men, come to think of it. So James, you have those two tokens covered, plus you were my first friend here and, were i forced to rank, my dearest. Sweet.

if i knew more, i'd be able to find the proper words to describe this man. but you see, compared to the enigma that is JAMES, i know nothing. so i can speak nothing. i can type nothing. and even if i could espouse, i'd end up on some diatribe that would need the expertise of a linguist. is there a linguist in the house? i sure could use one.

Text

“Language is my mother, my father, my husband, my brother, my sister, my whore, my mistress, my checkout girl. Language is a complimentary moist lemon-scented cleansing square or handy freshen-up wipe-ette. Language is the breath of God. Language is the dew on a fresh apple. It’s the soft rain of dust that falls into a shaft of morning light as you pluck from an old bookshelf a half-forgotten book of erotic memoirs. Language is the creak on a stair. It’s a spluttering match held to a frosted pane. It’s a half-remembered childhood birthday party. It’s the warm, wet, trusting touch of a leaking nappy, the hulk of a charred panzer, the underside of a granite boulder, the first downy growth on the upper lip of a Mediterranean girl. It’s cobwebs long since overrun by an old Wellington boot.”

about me
I am yet another instance of the Homo sapiens species. I’m Tlingit—Deisheetaan naaxh, Kakháak'w Hít yeedáxh áyá xhat. Shtax'héen Khwáan áyá. Lingít xh'éináxh Jéioosh yóo xhat duwasáakw. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and I lived there most of my life. I study linguistics, particularly morphology and language revitalization, and the Tlingit language. I moved to Honolulu to attend the University of Hawai'i Mānoa for a PhD in linguistics. I also hack Lisp for fun, but sadly not for profit. I like cute girls a lot, and enjoy hugging them and cuddling them and bouncing them on my knee.
