Whoa! That officially blew my mind for today. I'm sorry the kid has so much, like, angst and all - however, a young person who wants to go to West Point and become an artist makes me feel somewhat hopeful. as always my advice to young people is trust your process {dude}

Yep, we're old.
Ya know, I've heard that most hip fractures are not so much a RESULT of falling, but rather a spontaneous break in the femoral head that causes a fall. Is there a doctor in the house that can confirm this?

I am not a doctor.. though I do play at home.... I did find this article that seems to corroborate your theory Ali..

I'm a little bit surprised that the happy swimming naked baby and his little rudder hasn't yet been cracked down on as child porn.

He plays water polo? I should invite him to play with our crusty masters team. Nothing is as rejuvenating for me as dunking teenagers underwater for a long, long time.

Where are my reading glasses?
I've got shoes older than you! Get off my lawn! When I was a boy, I walked 5 miles through the snow to school each morning and 10 miles home in complete darkness with wolves chasing me! AND, and,,, uh, ummm, now why did I come in here? |

I read this story yesterday as well, which did somewhat spark a weathered sense.
The thing that tripped my "age consciousness" last night. was being met with blank stares when expressing the irony of Mary Woronov playing an uptight high school principal. I'm obviously from another planet :) |

I understand the irony, but I will also state for the record that I grew up _fervently wishing_ Mary Woronov was my uptight high school principal. And that she had a big paddle.
