So, I found this girl who wants to live with me! *w00t* She's super awesome, and seems really fun. Her name is ALSO Jen. And she's 5'11". Yeah, this is going to be the crazy tall Jen house! She's not kinky, but I brought it up, so she won't be too freaked out. I'm so excited! She's moving to the city from STOCKTON, so I'll be getting her familiar with the place...which is probably good for me! *yays*

I made this awesome hazelnut crusted salmon from Trader Joe's tonight...simple, just pan fried it. then, for whatever reason, it occurred to me to use my fancy schmancy organic ranch dressing on the side. *wow* brought it to a whole new level. *awesome*

OMG....the 9 (tomorrow 10) year old I babysit is brilliant.

I asked him what flavor of cupcakes he wanted for his B-Day, and he said he wanted caramel filled chocolate cakes with caramel buttercream. I decided to make dulce de leche instead, since I already had a can of sweetened condensed milk. *w00t* the frosting is unbelievable. *wow*

Let me count the ways! 1) you shredded 3 whole pumpkins in less than an hour - the hold up was me with my cutting, rather than the scant seconds it took you to grind! 2) you made pumpkin puree out of an entire pumpkin in about 10 seconds. Do you UNDERSTAND how long I used to work at mashing them?! 3) you are dishwasher safe, and rinse out wonderfully! 4) I got $25 off your incredibly reasonable price of $139. PLUS FREE SHIPPING. 5) you might be my favorite appliance, with the exception of your sister, the mixer. I got her for the same price, but her regular cost is twice as much. <le sigh> baking is good. Anyone want some pumpkin cupcakes? I now have about 20 cups of shredded pumpkin and about 10 cups of pureed pumpkin. *w00t*

So, I made Maple-Corn-Bacon Cupcakes, much to the delight of friends at the Bent party. I only made 12, mostly because I didn't want ALL my bacon to go to the cupcakes! Rave reviews, such as August and Carly's: "It's like breakfast, in a CUPCAKE!" said with a huge grin. Yesterday I made Mocha-Choca-Frappa-Latte cupcakes (my version of a Chocolate-Coffee mix, with a bit of Starbucks humor). Great reviews, with the exception of appearance. Apparently round-tip piped chocolate frosting looks like dog poop. I will be using my star tip for that from now on, thanks. :P

Cupcake Flavors...

What would you like to see? I'm experimenting with new flavors...so far, the best reviewed were my Apple Pie, Pumpkin Perfection, and Chocolate (all with Cream Cheese Frosting). What other flavors are your favorite? What flavors do you think might be great? The Red Velvet did okay, but was a bit oily...I plan to replace some oil with apple sauce. I think my vanilla vanilla cakes tested pretty well last night as well...all rated 4-5 out of 5.
