O.k. I'm sure I'm probably like one of the last people on earth to find out about this ( I usually am) but I found the coolest site. Yeah I know it sounds really boring, but I had a pretty decent day. Then I came home and this beautiful storm came through. The sky turned all sort of great colors, and there was so little lightening so the kids and I got to play in the rain. I was just at my local Michaels craft store and found tubes of glow bracelets ( 15 bracelets in each) for $1.00. I had to get a handful for Burning Man :). Though we had an amazing storm that knocked out the power earlier so I opened a pack and put them on the kids( that way no one gets stepped on in the dark). I am so totally over people trying to change me to fit their image of what I should be. What the hell is wrong with who I am? And what the hell is up with people thinking that if a woman gives a guy a hug they are either sleeping with them or thinking about it. I am a hugger! If I meet someone that looks like that could use a hug I'm going to give them one. If I like you as a person and we bump into each other in the store I'm going to hug you. I'm a firm believer that hugs heal. If one more person tells me that I shouldn't hug people because it looks bad, or that I should dress a certain way, or that it isn't very becoming for a lady to cuss I'm going to loss my damn mind. I am who I am! Loud, loving, and yes a little crude at times. Love me or leave me but stop trying to change me. O.k. I feel better now.

I thought of this this morning making smart ass comments to my kid ( He was lost in thought and I told him I hoped he could find his way out). I know there is no way to get it done "right" in time for this years burn..... but next year I plan to do it. I would really appreciate any ideas and comments from the community as I have never even dreamed of doing an art project on this large of a scale before. I think having my ticket not only helped with my artist block but opened brand new doors of creativity for me. So here it is.... "Lost in thought" Picture a large maze made where people can write on the walls ( material details I haven't got yet). Along the maze you will come to several walls of "reflection". One spotted with all different mirrors with a title head that says " Reflect on your self", one spotted with clocks " Reflect on time", one spotted with images of people " Reflect on society", one spotted with satelite pics of the different planets " Reflect on the universe". O.k. thats as far as I got so far. I did just have it jump into my head about 5 minutes ago. Now I open myself up for thoughts.... be honest please I don't bruise easy.

My ticket to Burning Man finally came! I swear I almost kissed the mail lady I was so happy to see it. My kids all think I'm completely nuts for dancing around the living room with a little piece of paper but that's o.k. :} As for the rest of my stuff....well when you wait 3 years to go you would think I'd have nothing left to get but I'm only about half way done. I'll be ready though. It would help if I'd make up my mind on exactly what I want to bring( outside the essentials ) . O.k. more later. P.S. for those that have read my older posts I have lost 7lbs since I ordered the ticket apparently planning to go has been my best diet helper yet! I'm still a little away from my goal but I think I'll be pretty close by August. Wish me luck.

I received a phone call from my mother the other day to tell me that my sister had found her and called looking for me. All I could think is " I don't have a sister what is this crazy lady talking about !?!". Well apparently I do have a half sister, in fact I have 2. My birth father (whom I'd been looking for for years now) has had 2 girls. The oldest is Nichole she's 24 and really cool. She also has a 2 year old son Preston. I'm an aunt, YAY! The other one is Darby and she's a month younger than my 4 year old daughter, and oh so cute. My father (Nevan) is an artist and you can find him and his work here... http://www.cafepress.com/fitzpatrick He has always been very talented and I was thrilled to see that his art was now where other people can see it as well. This is who taught me to look for the beautiful things that hide in the everyday world. I haven't spoken to the new wife yet but Nichole says she's super sweet so I'm looking forward to meeting her. This was probably the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten. My kids have always asked why they knew everyone on my husbands side of the family and almost no one from mine. Now I can fix that. My favorite holiday treat

Or at least it everyone else's favorite that I make. I can't got to a holiday party with out being asked to bring a plate of my Cream Cheese Conacopias. They are so easy to make if you want to give it a try. You'll need: Foil canned cresent rolls butter favorite flavored cream cheese pastry bag ( or like I do a freezer bag with the corner cut off) Form foil into cone shapes then butter the outside of cones. Wrap 1 cresect roll around cone. Be sure to close the end. Bake at 350 until golden brown. Remove from foil as soon as they come out of the oven!!!! Let cool to room temperature, then fill with cream cheese. This will be a hit at any holiday table and everyone thinks that you are oh so creative. If you have a favorite recipe I would really love to hear it. I'm always looking to add to my book of tricks.

At least that's how I feel most of the time when I think about posting to my blog. I'm a stay at home mom/wife. And some how I don't see many of you caring about who got honor roll this 9 weeks ( Crystal and Mikey did) or What new cleaning tips I've learned. Then my daughter asked me why don't I tell you guys about my art and/or crafts, or my never ending mission to find new ways to stretch a $ as far as possible. Or even share my recipes ( I love to cook I think of it as eatable art). While I'm pretty sure it was her way of getting out of having to listen to it herself, I've decided to take her advise. After all ones blog is where you are supposed to share who you are and what you do right... well this is who I am and what I do. Before I get into any of these posts maybe I should explain why I do things the way I do them. In my household there is my husband and I, our 4 kids , and my Dad ( whom has a bad ticker and needs lots of special care). My husband works as a welder for a power plant and I do everything else. Not a complaint just how we agreed it would work. See he works 40-110 hours a weekand works very hard. He is the only real source of inmcome for this family. This does make my job more intersting because society today is very much set up for 2 income families. Outside the normal home duties I am a PTA mom and I volenteer in Mikeys second grade class every Fri as an art teacher as the school has no art program. We have 1 cub scout and a chorus member. So that's my family in a nut shell ( appropriate since I think we're all a little nuts). Now maybe you'll have some idea as to what I'm talking about in later posts. I have 4 very sweet kittens that need a GOOD home. They are great with kids and already litter box trained. There is 3 girls and 1 boy. They look like gray/black tabbies but if you look close you will notice a hint of orange on 2 excpecially the boy. Wish I could keep them but my landlord would have a hissy fit. Anyone interested drop me a line. There are some pics in my albumn, this stupid thing isn't letting me add one to this.
