Thank you to all who danced (and dressed for costumes contests!) at Nightmare Before Halloween Sunday Oct. 19. You took soooo much time and care with your costumes and choreography... just amazing. It was a GREAT show, because of YOU. Thanks to our gorgeous vendors. Your donations for our raffles made us enough to put on our next event! We can't do it without you. Congrats to Henna Crone DEbbie Reiser for winning Spookiest Costume, and to Jay for winning Funniest Costume. Enjoy your Gargoyles! Special love and thanks to Allure for decorating the stage, performing beautifully, waiting until the close of the show and undecorating. She sparkles like a jewel. My last friend in the area moved away in august. Is there a reliable wrinkly dog lover wiling to take in an easily-bored neutered needy boy from about 830am until 5:30pm? Don't accidentally end up on a thoroughbred this weekend, just find GATE 8 on BALDWIN AVENUE for MECDA's Belly Dance Carnival. You can get there from either the 210 (Foothill) or 10 (San Bernardino)) Freeways. I like the 210. Until there's an accident. Then the 10 is lookin' good too. Use the BALDWIN exit. (the santa anita exit will take you to the "Seabiscuit" Statue, but resist such temptations... that ain't where YOU want to be.) SEE Y'ALL THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Was truly dangerous Tuesday, Arnold came and DC10s put on a show and that's the only reason my place is still standing. That, and your good wishes. It was like a War Zone, jets and planes buzzing my tree tops, smoke billowing. We were ordered to evacuate, but I'm so glad I went into hiding. When the winds stopped about 2:30pm, the squirrels and birds were thirsty and played in spray from hoses I had spraying over my house. The people who stayed and watched in Twin Peaks put out 100 spot fires the firefighters could never have battled. So: next time the deputies come by with loudspeakers and say get out, stay and fight. You can jump on the back of the fire engine when they leave.
