<div>Fumiya Tanaka DJ set from Filter.SF at Fat City

On freqbox.net > freqbox music feed

On Saturday, April 28 Japan’s techno figurehead Fumiya Tanaka performed a three hour Dj set at San Francisco’s Fat City during his first U.S. visit.

Fumiya Tanaka is considered a hero among techno fans in Japan. In the U.S. he's known by only a devoted group of afficianados, but works like Unknown Possibility have entered into the cannon of techno classics.

Having toured with Jeff Mills in Europe in the mid-90’s, Tanaka’s crisp style has evolved from the harder Detroit techno sound he introduced to Japan over a decade ago. Today with partner Radiq, Tanaka’s Op.Disc label is focused on a hypnotic dancefloor minimal sound with a fresh artistic sensibility.

If you didn't manage to see the show in person, enjoy the set, and check out the newly available selection of Op.Disc tracks now on Beatport.

<div>Calling all yee west based techno producers...

We're about to launch the Freeloader site of free locally produced MP3s on Freqbox.

For all you producers out there, this is an opportunity to give back to the community by creating a free track for subscribers to download.

These tracks can either be ones you didn't plan to release elsewhere or maybe one you create especially for the site to help give incentive to others to do the same.

This is a give to get deal. Happy to explain more in PMs.

With Techno love,
