So this morning on the way to sword class, I decide to drive through breakfast at Carl's Jr. in Colton. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros breakfast burrito combo. While I was driving out I devoured all of the hash brown coins (that's what they look like and apparently not negotiable currency). I got on the freeway after unwrapping my burrito and took a bite.

I could smell the scrambled eggs but what was that I could taste? Is that mustard?

I took another bite. Yup, it was mustard.

So I was feeling a little peckish and decided to drive through Burger King here in Calimesa. I drove up to the ordering box and was greeted thus :

"Sorry, we dont have any meat at the moment. So we can't make Whoppers or any other burger..."

Guh?

I mean WTF? How is it that one of the biggest burger chains in the country doesnt have the meat to make a burger? Is there some sort of cow shortage I'm not aware of? Is the All-American beef burger doomed to head the way of the Dodo? ... read more

Two new weapons from Darkwood Armory (www.darkwoodarmory.com). The one on the right is an 1580s English Basket Hilt (broadsword blade) and the other is a 3 ring swept hilt Rapier (crica 1590s) with a 37 inch blade rapier blade.

Had a bit of an issue when I got them: the Basket Hilt had an unfinished wooden handle and the tip of the blade was squared off. The Rapier actually was broken at the weld in the tang. I sent them both back and Scott of Darkwood was very apologetic and fi... read more

My Testimonials

September 26, 2007
I had never met a Gentleman Adventurer before Steven, but now that I HAVE finally met him, I can't imagine anyone doing it better than he does. Dashing and elegant, yet unquestionably all man *insert Austin Powers 'Yeah baby, yeah!' here*, he is the embodiment of both things.

Also, he's just generally a neat guy, fun at parties, and, like, totally the best escort EVAH.

It takes an idiot to want to be a guildmaster, but he is one of the few that makes attending Faire fun, interesting and pushes you to be the best actor/historian you can be. A great teacher of sword play, history, fellow geek and an outstanding guy. His kindred spirit is an inspiration to me and I am proud to call him friend.

Steven's a gem in the dust. He's a great swordsman, very knowledgeable, and plays a dashing nobelman. (From what I hear he's an awesome Frank N. Furter.) Amanda's got a great catch, and I'm sure he'll pass his charm and grace onto his two little girls!
