don't try this at home - bike vs cab - not good

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/frogfarley/blog/a4433437-510a-489b-ba64-b9dd855d7d11">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/26c/086/26c08601-748a-42d8-8513-97cc9343dca5.thumb" width="65" height="43" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>so today - one of my nightmares of taxi driving came true - I hit a bicyclist

and as the nightmare goes, the reality followed the script pretty well - careless, reckless bicyclist does something in front of me that I cannot protect him from ...
blessings/prayers all around - he had a head wound - no helmet - but was conscious- mostly lucid, and mobile - that didn't make me feel any better when i saw the EMT's slicing up his pants, putting him on the spinal board

from in front of a bus - man takes the middle between lanes, then cuts across me hard left , perpendicular to traffic - right in front of me - he almost made it - and while I hit the brakes, I still couldn't help popping his back frame/back tire, and watched him fly, possibly bouncing off my fender (bodily, after bike/car impact) before hitting the pavement - witnesses, lucky for my ass - verify his foolishness - my ride waits the half hour the cops take getting their report together # 081195985 - I get her home - no charge -

at which point all my shock came up and I wanted to totally puke - then of course - I had to fill out the company report for the taxi

I am in no way comparing suffering - i pray he's all right for his sake, and far more marginally, for my peace of mind

I always dreaded this kind of incident and pray I never see it again - because sometimes I cannot do anything to prevent an accident, except pray a bicyclist never makes such a foolish and dangerous move in front of me again

more later - once I process - I am so freaked right now - I just had to blog it

I was on my last f*ng ride with ten minutes left on my day - both me and bike/vicitim almost cleared

but instead - we both get to live with this

and tomorrow I get to go out and face it again

and he gets to deal with ambulance/hospital bill, a head wound, his bike, and a new outlook, I hope, on how he'll use the road from now on

please oh please oh please if you bike in the city - be smart and responsible and remember that no matter how good of drivers we are or aren't around you - nothing is a better assurance of your safety then your safe use of the road!

    </a>
										<div>here I am reposting this blog .. now where's that lady in the cow suit???

for starters ...
http://www.suntimes.com/news/mitchell/1213415,CST-NWS-mitch10.article - this will probably be the first last and only time I'll ever say this : you GO girl!

I guess I'm not alone in losing some good stuff on the home pages, huh?? I know my last few blogs weren't that special but damn - something bad went down huh??

this one isn't that special either - but it is loaded with links!

nothing news in my world - had a great political falling out with my Mom (don't disbelieve - your Mom really is always right - and don't you dare challenge that to her face!)

halfway thru the 'final' edit on my book before I find a professional to help me go from finito to perfecto (that was one of my nifty blog entries, now MIA)

made amends enough with the 'What would You do?" friend - which is cool - but I am still chary and confused, frankly

and I still miss you all terribly - but I know I have not helped myself there - I seem to be getting more antisocial with age

I really, despite certain comments from certain people (who I adore, nonetheless - honest friends are the only friends I want) amuse myself with my links, and will continue to do so - and I hope I amuse some of you too - I am one of those Ripley's Believe it or Not lovers, and also - as a poet, a huge fan of life's poetic irony, justice and injustice - that's why I like to share it

I may revise my format though, to entice and aid navigation for the discerning peruser - here are the highlights :

    </a>
										<div>first off - I gotta say - Wait Wait Don't Tell Me was exquisite this week http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=35

especially the bit about how cows are magnetic - serious, satellite photos show cows are always grazing pointing north or south - this is the funniest bit of education ever ... and the drug dealing pigeon ... and the last lightning fill in the blank - elderly woman in Sweden puts herself on airport conveyor belt/baggage shoot

lolololololololololololololololol

then there's this - read about "out of left field" at the bottom - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_fielder ... truth is so much stranger than fiction ... I thought left fielders were just more prone to be crazy, you know, like drummers

oh yeah - the crazy crab baseball tie in - I went to his bobblehead night - but I lost the bobblehead ... http://homerderby.com/archives/2362 - introduced as an anti mascot - an invitation for the home team fans to boo - it's clever and stupid and rather obnoxious - I think I'd rather just have a traditional mascot - you know - the kind you ignore ...

or better yet - my team - the Bewers - who have an unofficial mascot of a beerbarrel man, officially their logo back in the day - another guy - Bernie Brewer who goes down a slide for home team home runs- but in the old park, he was sliding into a giant beer barrel! http://www2.jsonline.com/sports/brew/aug00/bernie15081400.asp - and of course - the sausage race! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4HMRtxY-ik

one of the many reasons I love my team - they know what baseball is really about</div>

    </a>
										<div>before I elaborate on my title - I want to digress on a strange thing I saw - Commercials in the Movies!

now -what rock have I been hiding under, you may ask? I believe the rock is called Netflix - and something about the total crap that we get for movies now-a-decades - but yeah - I haven't been to the movies in a couple years (I think I saw Star Wars III last)

I remember Coke and other vendors tangential to Cinema that were doing it for the last several years - but they were silent slide-shows for the most part - so I go in to see 'Traitor' (which was a great look at all sides of the "War on Terror(Freedom)" btw ) - and I get four commercials for Dove hygiene products and a few other whatevs - but it's loud and THX and frickin MTV paced - WTF!?!?!?! I am old enough to remember the snot on the screen that passed as visual diversion whilst waiting for the previews to begin - there were even some classy old theaters in my podunk town that had curtains that would open right at the lead in to the previews (I'm sure they do commercials now, too) - what really amazes me is that noone thought of this sooner - but it is just another reason I doubt I wlll be seeing any movies at the theaters in the coming years

.... okay - I have googled for the last half hour trying to find some ref to my nostalgic movie mucus - no luck - am I crazy? does anyone else remember this? or was it an anomaly in my town only?? I know you remember Renea! shit - Machesney Park all the time - but at Cherrry Vale too, I'm pretty sure ... anyway - my search led me to the pic - which I do love - so at least it wasn't a total loss

back to Obama:

Good god I hope he has policies to go along with the brilliant politicking - can't wait for some head-to-head debates - Obama is the verbal smackdown king - the Repubs keep coming up with these snivelling little complaints and jabs, and Obama makes it look to easy - way better than "You're no Jack Kennedy"

"Sen. McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush was right more than 90 percent of the time?"

it's statements like that that leave no doubt in my mind how this guy got to where he did with little more than a "speech in 2004"

I started falling for him with his response to accusations of a 'pre 9/11 idea about national security' (believe I got it from Doonesbury's mudline) he came back with : 'I'm not going to take any advice from Republicans about how to keep this country secure' or something like that

wherever he goes - this guy was born to hold office

now there's McCain's veep hole-ace - I like this sort of thread here: http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=5282&amp;edition=2&amp;ttl=20080829192328 - reminds me how we got into the W mess in the first place

why is it that so many people who need to say something have next to nothing intelligent to say?

that's why I like to plagiarize and disseminate the verbage of others ...

sticks and stones: I always thought that something like this was the case http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7587780.stm

I like the bit about 'never seen that sort of behavior from a parent' at a little league game?? are you kidding!?!?
http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/8488564/9-year-old-barred-for-pitching-too-well?MSNHPHCP&amp;GT1=39002

air guitar championship: still hilarious http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7578909.stm - one guy fractures his thumb - go easy on your air whammy bar, baby!

    </a>
										<div>so here I am in week 3 of total denial of ever having written a book

well - sort of - I ponder critically every once in a while, like when I see something in another book or a movie and want to go back and edit mine NOW! or am reminded how things do and don't work in other stories - (like bad puns - how come that never ever ever helps a work ... am I right here?) ... I love puns - and cheese is as cheese does - can any of you think of a movie or book where a good pun or a cliche works??

of course - I would love nothing more than to have my book packed off to an editor yesterday - but I have to give it one more read through myself for edits and story/plot changes, i.e. major overview of what does and doesn't work ... I have been getting some distance so I can come back as a reader and not the 'author' ... it hasn't been easy - but I have not even looked at it in a couple weeks, so I'm doin it right as far as that goes

I'm not saying I haven't enjoyed my little 'vacation' - but I am anxious to get back and get to the next level of 'finished'

in the meantime - I have been caustically and critically assailing politicos thanks to this site http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ - it's great - I was feeling very politically motivated but terribly uninvolved - I know I could do so much more, but I like this as a start

>>>>>>>
offshore drilling:

We can argue ad nauseum about the need for corporate strength, the lack of infrastructure for alternative fuels, and the needs and desires of an oil-consuming American public ... or we could just face the fact that the only people who are in any way benefitting from this horrendous economic and environmental crisis are big oil companies, who -surprise surprise- have made record profits every quarter for the last several years. That's funny isn't it? How is it their success is so unfettered, even counterplayed, to the failing economy and depressed public?

No more OIL! History will remember the heroes, the politicians with the courage to move our world forward, and it will remember the patsies who tried to hand over the future of our society and our planet to a few big rich bastards who could care less about all the harm they do, as long as they can add another few million to their billions.

Who do you serve? The people? Or the parasites?

Do not support offshore drilling! IT solves NONE of the problems that America is suffering right now. Not even gas prices.
>>>>>>
Bush's latest attempt to control women's reproductive rights:

Let's pass on the latest of the perpetual lies of the oligarchy!

This is no Christian issue - this is no evangelical dogma that is being thrust upon all women - regardless of their religious, moral, or personally free stance.

This is about keeping the poor in the dark and providing a steady stream of labor for the great industrial machine that makes the rich richer VS. the opportunity for indivuals, fully endowed citizens of this country, to make educated decisions of their own volition based on the options indicated by an honest and forthright professional medical industry, (that has no right to make or preclude any choice for these citizens).

Seperate Church and State again! No more selective medical advice, no more lies about the rights of every citizen in this country, and no more SHELL GAMES with personal health choices.

.....
over the top - sure - but how else do you get someone's attention in the multitudes of email petioning??

>>>>>>

newsie tidbits and OOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFFFGGGGGGGGG that is so gross I have to look at it again ... almost the nastiest thing ever http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/7574943.stm - you'll know which pic I'm talking about - YIKES!!!!

ladies? opinions?? how come wymyn can go on and on about there appearance in deep rifts of negativity - but this sort of thing will always piss women off? why is honesty about women's appearances always a bad thing for men? seriously...?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7567239.stm

There's so rarely good news, you want to hear this about our heroic soldiers all the time, this is what the CIA and FBI and NSA could be focused on, but they are having more fun with rendition flights and illegal wiretaps and making sure the President isn't interrupted during another riveting and deeply relevant bit of rhetoric

    </a>
										<div>and as dramatic as any frickin Law &amp; Order episode, just not quite so condensed for the story-telling...

it's pretty funny seeing "Convicted Murderer" under a name, isn't it - I mean - you just automatically interpret that as truth, not fiction, you see that and 'know' it's accurate, not misleading, and that the person behind that label is actually guilty of committing murder ... hmmmm ...

Alan Beaman:
the last time this guy was breathing free air: Clinton was wrapping up his first term, Michael Jordan had just come back from his first retirement, cell phones still weighed about 20 pounds, and bin Laden was still on the CIA payroll, or still remembering it fondly, as the Afghan-Soviet war had wrapped up a few years before - but you get what I'm saying

a funny friend of mine ...  http://www.rrstar.com/communities/x2113787092/Beaman-experiences-freedom-Chewing-gum-cell-phones-sunrises

I was in plays with this guy in High School - we weren't terribly close, but we were certainly friends enough to keep in touch back then - I went to college just across town from where he went and the murder took place - I smoked my first cigarette, his, at a party our freshman year - I smoked pot for the first time the following summer, with him and a couple other friends

so he just got released after 13 years in prison (for a murder he may never have committed) when a State judge vacated his murder conviction - because the DA failed to mention another suspect, and the jury didn't hear all the evidence (good going 'justice' system)

here's a little more of the backstory - http://pantagraph.com/articles/2008/05/23/news/doc48358ecc9a0d8733720437.txt - the Pantagraph! the newspaper of my college-town, what a flashback!

did he do it?  I don't know - I don't think so -  but I'll say a prayer for him anyway ...

										<div>ththbbbbppllttt on you, you dirty old man!

ahh George - whatta guy - I had a laugh about him yesterday - I took a nice Grandma from the JCC out to the west side and wondered after if she could smell my bit of spliff when she got in - after I dropped her, she seemed so happy (the Grandmas love me - I am attentive to their needs and respectful and help them in and out etc etc, and I treat them like people and not cobwebs, coots, or candy-asses) - and I remembered that G-ma who tweaked my chin one time and i thought of the last ride: 'She may have smelled the herb, but she probably wanted to tweak my chin' - and I was laughing to myself about chin tweakers, and then I thought, in cerebral dyslexia of twin cheekers ...

only a minute or so later did I reflect about what a twin cheeker would be ... teehee

so my eulogistic joke for brother George :
    Depends on the cheeks, but I think I'd rather have twin cheekers than chin tweakers!

>>>>>>

baack in the 80's my brother picked up Class Clown, and it has been all laughs and love (and ocassional fear and trembling) ever since

he may have gotten quite cynical and dark in his later years - but that happens when you look honestly at all the bullshit around us that we have to play along with

and that's what made him great - he didn't bullshit - in fact, half his social commentary was cutting through it - and what made him scray and even dangerous?? he didn't play along

his humorous look at our irrational dIalogue/existence was always brilliant .... "You don't take a shit, you leave it!"

sometimes controversial ... "Shit piss fuck cunt cocksucker motherfucker tits" got him arrested and did get him noticed by the Supreme Court

and certainly scathing in its rebuke of the fucked direction of this US of A ... "With DICK Cheney and COLIN Powell in the White House, you know somebody is getting fucked in the ass!"

but he was always honest, and he was very very very often funnier than a pig afraid of the mud http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1025428/Pig-Boots-The-worlds-porker-afraid-mud.html

his homepage:
http://www.georgecarlin.com/home/home.html

safe journeys and cool runnings, you irrascible malcontent, your wit and social critique will always be missed ...

>>>>>>>>>>

here's some things I'll bet George could make us laught about:

that's it - now Mugabe is right up there with Bush/Cheney - I wan't them dead - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7465101.stm I've never been decided for or against capital punishment - but I quote Perry Farrell "Some people *should* die"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7464263.stm - Republicans calling each other out? ha! love it!

In rural Kern County, north of Los Angeles, the county clerk has canceled all weddings performed by her office, a position she took after consulting with the Alliance Defense Fund, an Arizona legal group that argues against marriage for gay men and lesbians. Weddings at the county clerk’s office — long an affordable, no-frills option for couples — have also been called off in Butte County, north of Sacramento, the state capital. ... read: "I won't go along with state law, I'm standing by my archaic religious dogma repression" .. *assholes!*

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/frogfarley/blog/5f1e730c-609c-4e6c-b4f2-c700e16b3205">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/901/286/901286af-2bf4-4d45-a5ac-877bd6f4113e.thumb" width="65" height="32" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>so I had a cab on Sunday with penguin on top, promoting the new Splash Zone of Monterey Bay Aquarium ... this was weird and fun - I don't have a pic yet - this facsimile is a little off, because it's funnier - just picture a life-size penguin with a little red backpack (no, I don't know why), belly-down, nose-forward on the roof of a big yellow taxi

I took a note to remember all this whackiness, and it came out like a poem almost:

the cracked crackberry misdelivery return
the old-style cab dream, see it back from last SFO trip
jaguar red light runner, but the dog's okay
imagine penguin on top taking flight and skull fuck muni
the Clash, "Should I stay...", belting rock out the Haight
smoke out by the park, passing two bicycles wide abreast
as I buzz by, cops lights up and sirens right there
they button hook a bitch behind me, coming my way
ozium panic, spraying out the danky funk
the cops stop a block behind, and I sigh relief
then come again, and again I freak
but they stop one more block away, anyway
it wasn't me, they were just confused

>>>>>

let me begin from the beginning - I usually get a different car from my Saturday guy, but he gave me this one instead - I was a little excited because I never got to drive one of the ones with the sea lion on top that we had last year

my first ride I go out and they're just going across the Mission, drop em - no biggie - next ride, a few blocks away, starts to get in, and I see the last ride left a phone - I told em I wanted to get it back to owner, sorry - he was cool, and on I went back to my last drop - we are told to 'turn it off and turn it in!!! do not mess with trying to get stuff back to rider, it's complicated and usually not worth it - don't answer the lost phone' ... I don't know why - liability, and makes our job easier probably - but given a reasonable chance I like to return (you don't get no tip when they pick it up from lost and found!)

so I have this guy's phone in my left hand and as a I zip around the corner it slips ... right out of my hand, right out the open window, right down the street slidin away, right over to the sewer drain!!!! - it didn't go down, and I got it, but it wasn't pretty! scratches and a crack in the screen (though it was already cracked, I believe I made it worse) - I returned it, left it on their doorstep, and can only hope they never guessed they left it in my cab (yikes!)

so the day goes on, with my penguin top taxi ...

oh - I had a weird dream the night before, about an old style cab - you know that old round fender design formerly ubiquitous in NYC? I didn't remember much, except the clear image of that style of cab

so my day had moved along - I was making good money, and coming back from second airport, I see on the freeway one of the old NYC cabs!!!!! - we have almost none here - there is a nice '40's Mercury or Pontiac that my company keeps for promotional, parades, whatnot - but I really have seen zero in town - I think this cab was from somewhere down the peninsula

but then I start getting nervous - now that I see the cab from my dream, what the hell happens next???

I get back to the city and within a few rides, I have a guy with his dog going to Petco to get a shot - we're driving along - things are cool - we're at a red light - it turns green - I hesitate, then go, then see this black jaguar creeping along, not looking like it will stop, and it comes to the intersection - I'm halfway through it, and would have just gassed on, but I didn't trust this jag, so I held up another second - motherfucker rolls right through his red light, about 4 seconds too late to make his yellow, and just inches from me - and I stop hard - I was only ten feet in, and was probably going all of 5 mph - fuckin jag driver rolls right in front of us, ignorant shithead that he/she is, and keeps going

this poor dog is airborne and lofted from the back seat to the front - there is no middle, (aftermarket twin bucket seats, and a metal plate over the hump) so she didn't go over, just through - poor girl!!! she was all right, she seemed to be panting happily after initial startle - and the passenger affirmed - "She's a big drama queen, she'd let me know if something was wrong" and they were duly pissed and relieved and grateful for my skill

so my day goes on, me aged by an extra six months - I've had some close ones, but that one was fucked, especially cause the bastard would have t-boned us and really fucked shit up - probably killing my passenger (they were going only about 20-30mph, I would guess, but that's why T-bones are so fucked - so dangerous at any speed)

so later I am at a pick up for another SFO (woohoo!) and I look up at my penguin, reflecting on flying phones and animals, and I see the model penguin has his flippers out like wings, and suddenly I picture him/her flying

do me a favor, picture a pretty hefty model penguin, on top of a taxi, suddenly becoming dislodged, at any speed over 20mph

...

did you laugh? as soon as I thought of that I started laughing my ass off - someone could even be most tragically killed "Innocent bystander killed by flying model penguin" and I swear half of you all would still laugh, first thing

don't deny it, you know it's true!

my passengers are taking a few minutes to get out the door, so I wander around the vicinity, have a smoke, stretch my legs, then I see this graffiti on a pole at a bus stop (Muni is our municipal transit system) 'Skull Fuck Muni' and I'm just dying laughing again, because I can so easily imagine how that graffiti got there: annoyed late rider, waiting forever and a day on their damn bus - and as a cab, I loathe the busses - they drive like they own the road and nobody matters but them - I have had no less than four busses drive me into oncoming traffic, just to fuck with me, because I was a cab- I do not exaggerate - there is a war between taxis and busses - so 'skull fuck muni' - though harsher than my own take, seems reasonable on another level

the last bit of the poem is about a funny thing with passing bikes (going two wide on a narrow one-lane - nice going bike-holes) while I was rocking out (singing with the radio - I am still waiting for my first noise complaint - but none yet) and smoking ... ummmm - just plain old cigarettes of course!! ... and thinking when the cops lit up and turned - 'Oh shit, I'm finally gonna get busted for this...'

but the cops were on a call - and apparently weren't sure where they were supposed to go - they pulled up blocking traffic at one intersection, then came out and around and did it again at the next intersection, finally getting out to get their perps or harass some drunk homeless fool or whatthaveyou

that was me flying high - on life and rock and roll of course - to wrap up that funny funky day

the next day: I had a passenger with a broken arm - I told him some of the day before and he said - "that's nothing, I broke my arm because I *was* a flying penguin" ... he played amateur baseball for a team called the Penguins, and he stumbled and fell rounding the bases - believe it or not!

I asked him if he was drunk, cause that was always a good excuse - he replied : "I was little stoned maybe, but we stopped drinking (during games) years ago"

god I love this town!

in my google search for penguin taxi:

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/frogfarley/blog/989953a8-b188-4a96-9bdc-dae0b9acfc36">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/fd4/58c/fd458c7b-75c6-4765-ad72-40ef3344eea0.thumb" width="65" height="66" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>when somehow, the communication isn't quite clear? when things in a low frequency (of contact) friendship seem rather one-sided?

when someone says they want your friendship and time and love? but can't seem to make those efforts to keep them vigorous in the connection?

I met someone many months ago, and seemed to make this great connection, and everything is there to have this strong, fruitful, rewarding friedship - admittedly, thousands of miles seperate us, so that adds a challenge but I get like, a couple very short e-mails a month and this is simply not enough to build on - I try to make more happen on the phone, and it seems I am the only one making the effort

this is not the first time I've had this problem ...

some people are extremely busy - and though they do make efforts to keep the friendship active - they will never seem to have the leisure to make the social time I will ...

I am not so readily available, after all - I do have a lot of free time, but I use it for my own ends (writing my book, reading, etc etc)

so what do you all do, my tribe friends? how do you handle the acquaintance that is seriously one-sided?

maybe some insight from the reverse? maybe you 've had someone want more of your time than you had to give?

I have never been good at this - I have some old friends, and we connect every few months or less, and that's cool - but we connect, we really connect and have a great conversation, or a dinner together, or something -

but through my life, I have had a knack for becoming seriously affected by someone who rarely has the time, and never seems to make the time for me, anyway

if they were just blowing me off, the choice would be obvious, but this person asks me for patience, invites my contact, but once again, is simply not available ...

suggestions?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
on a less personal, more newsie note:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/28/soldier.electrocutions/index.html - there was a passenger recently who, when I got into a political tangent, stood up for Bush and said he did a great job of defending us, and handling the war, and he was a good president to have in a wartime situation - I didn't bother telling her how American policies brought us this war, how Afghanistan was barely justifiable and how Iraq was a total farce, a war we were driven in to by the misinformation, and self-serving economy-shattering agenda of this 'good president' - I just told her " after 9/11, someone needed to pay, and I don't think any president would have sat on his thumbs in the aftermath, but sending out soldiers to war inadequately prepared and protected, roping N. Guard weekend warriors into 3 year tours and then not giving them the full body armor etc etc to ensure they had the best opportunity to 'win' and survive, is this how a good wartime president does it?"
she had nothing to say to that ... I wonder what she would say to this ... what would she say to Cheryl Harris?? "accident's happen"?? even after a warning was ignored for 11 months???

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080528/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_mcclellan_book - straight from the horse's ass, er - you know what I mean

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7422900.stm - hoorah for Nepal! Let the heinous waist of popular campaigning and the corruption of republican election begin! (okay - maybe it won't be as bad there as here ... as long as it's not like Zimbabwe)

    </a>
										<div>so I found this site - the home of ignorant ne'er dwells, clucking like happy hens in their coops, flying as high as domesticated flightless fowl dare

http://sweetness-light.com/

and apparently there's still some Rush Limbaugh fans in the crew - good god! - people find out a guy like that is hypocritical Oxy junkie, and they still think he's righteous

flip through for anything on Obama and you will likely be as annoyed/amused as I was

I don't know what I was thinking - these people do not come to sites like this for intelligent dialogue or rigorous debate, they come to prop up their beliefs and rah rah their dogmas - and I know nothing I say will change them

I will keep posted on any interesting tiffs I get into or rabble I rouse

it started with this bit of fun http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7416120.stm clinging to their guns and their Bibles
... http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama-on-gun-and-god-clinging-in-2004  ...  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What's_the_Matter_with_Kansas

>>>> this was my mini-rant:

ahh - nothing like intelligent well educated people going at it in a forum that challenges them and stimulates clearer thinking and real insights into life

just a ‘condescending liberal’ here to piss you off and spout nonsense so that I can spice the stew of your ignorance and crapulence

but I don’t need to tell all y’all nuthin’ … y’all clearly got it alllllll figured out

hey - at least you’ll always have someone else to blame … good for you! - I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone bitch about the ‘liberal media’ yet

at least one of you seems to be familiar with ZigZags … you ever inhale?

now - this below isn’t for you Rush Limbaugh fans, it might be a little over your head: it involves facts!
(for the record : http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/condescend … while addressing the problems of someone not as well off as yourself is not quite the same thing - so while you are all stuck in your positions of righteousness, there are some righties actually interested in moving the country forward http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080522/ap_on_go_co/congress_iraq_funding … now go ahead and tell me how the GI Bill and Rural Schools are irrelevant elitist liberal concerns, please)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7416120.stm - yes it’s off topic, but that should make it familiar territory for y’all

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What’s_the_Matter_with_Kansas
“There are two ideas of government,” said our noble Bryan at Chicago. “There are those who believe that if you just legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, this prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous their prosperity will find its way up and through every class and rest upon us.”
That’s the stuff! Give the prosperous man the dickens! Legislate the thriftless man into ease, whack the stuffing out of the creditors and tell the debtors who borrowed the money five years ago when money “per capita” was greater than it is now that the contraction of the currency gives him a right to repudiate.
Whoop it up for the ragged trousers; put the lazy, greasy fizzle who can’t pay his debts on the altar, and bow down and worship him. Let the state ideal be high. What we need is not the respect of our fellow men, but the chance to get something for nothing.

come on - you know you want another ‘clown’ to take potshots at, there’s no liberal pundit as dumb as Rush …

in other news >>>>>>>>>>>

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080520/ap_on_bi_ge/blind_money - well good for the courts, that's two very progressive, in-yo-face decisions in two weeks - how about they just put some frickin braille pips on there? or different number code for the more recently sightless who never learned braille?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7397669.stm - this actually gives me great hope, though if there was a scorecard, it would read Afghan destabalisation 20, Afghan cultural development 1

    </a>
										<div>it's about time, nice to see our Cali judges can get it right, of course, the mobilzed retarded right will act swiftly to counter, I'm sure

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7403547.stm
  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080515/ap_on_re_us/gay_marriage

why do I care? I'm not gay, how could it affect me?

I'm all about freedom, and so is gay marriage

I tend to be pretty diplomatic, and there are extremely few human situations that I cannot relate to

but the straight marriage reactionaries need to go suck a rock on this one

God made gays, you fucks - whether or not they have 'perverted God's plan' - 'he' made them so - so deal with it - only Leviticus and a few other seriously cerebral-anal inverters from the Bible said shit about gays, or gay sex, or sodomy

if you want to make the insitution of marriage a strict and fascistically elite scenario, then y'all gonna get the hard line from me: no divorce, no one who has had pre-marital sex can be married, and anyone who forsakes their vows will be stoned to death - after all "God" said so, didn't he? Anyone caught coveting their neighbors wife will be barred from marrying, anyone who ever breaks any one of the ten commandments shall be considered morally contemptible, and can only have a civil union - no sacred union in the house of the lord for you all, sorry, sinners!

if the "least" of 'his' children are not free, than neither are we

are there 72 virgins waiting for you in paradise too, you dogmatic, judgmental, holier than thou shitheads???

lemme tell you what "your lord" said, in case you forgot: "judge not, lest ye be judged" and "vengeance is mine" and "The priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary. And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incencse before the Lord." Levitcus 4:6-7 ... ??? ... ??? .... okayyyyyyy

all Christians not making blood sacrifices of bullocks shall not be allowed to marry either! so thhhbbblbblplplplplplplppttttt!!!!!

(research vail = veil, some archais spelling or somesuch)

this is love: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2004/02/18/gaywedgallery.DTL &amp;lt;&amp;lt;&lt; This is what your lord and savior taught you, didn't he? If God is Love, and Jesus says we are all God's children, then what does all your hate and judgment make you??? one of the devil's children, I believe ...

the Lincoln pic is right outside our City Hall - what a wonderfully opportune elbow crook

										<div>... on my last blog and you guys got no comment!?!?!?!? what the hell?????

all right ... moving right along

so after getting robbed last week, I followed up with the inspector and they actually have a couple guys in custody - will I finger him in open court? umm - lemme me rephrase that: will I *identify* him in open court? I guess - but today, after getting my summons last month, I go to see if I get picked for jury duty, yayyy! I really don't like court, and really try to stay the hell out of it as much as possible - I've been going down my list of insurance against being selected: I'm a schizophrenic, a white supremacist, the UnaBomber is my personal hero, my rreligion states that everyone is born guilty (original sin), or, my religion says everything is permissible (part time Satanist), how can I be impartial if I can't take my glock into court ... etceetc

>>>>>>>>>>> sorry this is 5 months late ... it's because I was building a giant, 40 foot penis in my backyard, to commemorate how awesome my penis is, and make a slightly undersized copy

hey - let's re-member - males do not worry about their penis size with themselves ladies - every man's member is just right for him

wherever would we get this idea to be concerned about the size of our penises!?!?!? surely it couldn't be *women* who made us so, could it!?!?!??

hands up ladies! who among you really couldn't care less if your guy had a limp little curly cue 2-incher that barely made it past the inner labia????

now about apparent male penis obsession that is *not* overcompensation for insecurity ... every person, regardless of genitalia is born thinking (knowing, correctly) that their package is the center of the pleasure universe, and therefore, the most wonderful thing in the universe - I don't deny that eons of patriarchy have blown this out of proportion, but let's face it - men never really have an unhealthy relationship with their wonderworms other than size insecurity ... women, however, have to struggle to get back that innate place of self-love, overcoming misogyny and guilt and stupid ideas about their pleasure not being relevant, etc etc

I sympathize, is that any reason to take it out on the penis ... cause y'all sure liked it the other night ...  &amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;

speaking of misogynistically-inappropriate-humor-finding: you heard it lezzies, lipstickies, ladies, dykes, and duuuuudes http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7376919.stm maybe Paradisians, after Wonder Woman, or Sapphos or Sappherites??

now back to my lesbian philogyny ....
culture vs choice http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7376167.stm you go you hot mama! I mean hot in strict admiration of her flouting Arab conservatism, and being a big bad lesbian in the Middle East

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080425/ap_on_re_us/police_shooting    ...
fuck the police! and the judges! fuckers make a mockery of justice! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7367198.stm
and while we're at it ... this has been bugging me, too http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7366225.stm - what the fuck does making an example of someone have to do with justice??? As I recall that's intimidation and fiscal/liberty terrorism, isn't it? Oh wait - silly me! I'm holding the government and judiciary and everyone else up to ONE standard! How foolish ...

at least someone has the balls to say it ... too bad it's f'n Libya http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7364172.stm - I'm not saying I agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly - but it's like this ... Palestinians are on a 'reservation' now ... except they didn't get to sell Manhattan for even a bunch of lousy beads - okay wait - I'm sorry - it's not all about the sad plight of Palestinian Arabs, the Jewish right of return is ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7361036.stm ... you're right, pretty ridiculous - okay - Everybody go BACK to where your people came from, and then everything will be cool - no wait! Everybody came from some place else?!?! How could this be!?!? I make this sound anti-semitic - actually it's anti-oppression, and anti-manifest destiny ...

that's too heavy to end on, there must be something better ... ahhh, good old MerryGeeahWanna http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byul571u7jE</div>

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/frogfarley/blog/f4830069-610c-459d-a115-84725be53235">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/a4c/909/a4c909e8-0f68-4f40-a0a1-32676b375b47.thumb" width="65" height="40" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>literally ...

gun point ...

in the wee hours in a nice neighborhood by a guy who drove up as passenger in another vehicle - good plan, actually: stay off the camera, no time to notice details (except that gun, that certainly had a lot of my attention)

as a writer, I got into this job in part for the experience, and I certainly had one ... "Give it up!" he repeated three times, pointing the gun at my chest - doing quick math in my head, I handed over the $40 cash (still had $45 in my wallet, which he would have gotten had he asked) and then he told me get on the ground and he and accomplice drove off - no plates, no make ... dammit

this sucked and has certainly colored my perspective on the job ... but I won't be intimidated by that - just a lot more paranoid!

more later, I am still processing all this - plus it was early in the day - so I had to work the whole day ( I didn't 'have' to - but the co. will only get you off the gates if you stop for he day or it was late in your shift when you were robbed)

there was a funny moment, in retrospect - I wear the Cabbie's third best friend, a hunter/photog vest, with a gazillion pockets - when I pulled the wad of bills and mister armed robber took it, he looked at my chest and seemed to be 'looking' with his gun/pointing it at many of my fuckin pockets ... right after that is when he said get on the ground, I can only hope he though about checking my pockets or trying to get more $$ and decided 'aw fuck that, it could take days to search all those pockets'

hey - I am not gonna cry about this, but I am going to start laughing about it right now (I was joking about it with my next ride) and I am not going stop - I hope the petty punkass jackass was really pissed when he realized he only got $40, and I hope the karma dragons tear his ass to shreds in his crack-fueled dreams

    </a>
										<div>well - as I've gone on enough about my kick ass niece Miranda, clearly her little sister is overdue for her own kudos - shockingly enough - also in the creative vein - I swear it's not (entirely) my fault ...

she was selected from the preschoolers or some such barely primary group, and I'm guessing there's probably work from every grade? I know she was the only one in her class to get picked - anyway this is some sort of district wide artshow for which my younger little artistic prodigy was selected ... so besides being my adorable niece and a super-ridiculous filipina-american-american-irish-american cutie pie, she is also some kind of artisitic wunderkind, that's her on the left, her too cool big sister (puberty, what are you going to do?) and her image is the pink girl on blue with a magic wand ... wait ... close up in my photos for the rabidly curious ... http://people.tribe.net/frogfarley/photos/f94d05e9-3eb9-4178-90cf-0e1ff23f3988

not much new in SF, except the (unusually) summery weather - any summery weather in SF is unusual, frankly

stil plugging on the book ... approx 550 paperback pages and counting ... maybe two books ... hmmm ....

******if you get this far, tell me: how do you feel about long books??? love em? hate em? size doesn't matter??? I myself get easily intimidated, though the best books I never want to end - and I sure have some faves that are long - but short is sweet, especially in this short-attention-span modern era

										<div>I wouldn't put China on my shit list - even with the apartheid-like sitch in Tibet - but when they come back with things about the Dalai Lama being a thug and terrorist - well - at that point - China can suck my Ga Lei Se Dik http://www.recipezaar.com/238730

the pic is 'Pro-Olympics' pro-China counter-demonstrators beating a pro-Tibet protester with his Chinese flag - or possibly just being overenthusiastic with his flag waving (see NPR story below)
