As of 6:00 pm this evening (it's still Friday to me until my head hits the pillow) Mom was still in surgery. According to my uncle they were getting ready to begin the reconstruction around that time. I sure didn't expect to hear from Mom tonight. However, I haven't heard from my stepdad. Knowing him, he's keeping a watchful eye at her bedside. I have faith that everything went well, but I'd rest much easier with just a quick confirmation of what I already feel in my gut. Regardless, this tired, stressed chickeroonie goes back on active Mommy duty in roughly 5.5 hours. Time to feign sleep...
