Hey kids.
Hope your New Year is going well. I'm all settled in here in San Francisco and ready for work. The bartending market is totally saturated and jobs are scarce. If anyone has a friend/mother/dog/postman or what ever that might be able to help land me a job, I’d forever been in your gratitude. I know everyone thinks that there are a million bars out here so there must be a million bartending jobs. But it just doesn’t work that way. The places that I’ve dropped off résumé’s with have had between 150(in 4 hours) to 600 other applicants apply. GOOD bartending jobs are acquired by word of mouth and by friends knowing someone. So if anyone can help get me in touch with anyone who is doing the hiring or has heavy influence on them, that is what I need.

I know all of you sending me your energies and best wishes are with good intentions, but, PLEASE don’t email me with positive encouragement. It’s not what I need right now. What I need is to hear from people who “actually know someone” who might be able to help. Please don’t email me about great bars that you like. I need to know ONLY about bars that ARE hiring or people that HAVE influence at bars that may or may not be hiring.

Some basic information about my experience is…
I have 10 years bartending experience, 6 of them in a high volume college bar. The rest is in restaurants and a hotel bar. I'm primarily looking for a bar, neighborhood bar or a club. Though I'll interview with restaurants and hotels. Sorry, no fine dining, the money’s great but it's just not in my blood.
