Hey friends, It's been months in the making, and our art car, the sqysh fysh, a 60 foot bamboo lanternfish is ready to hit the road! Look for her on the playa or resting at 8:00 and Dart (or thereabouts). We plan to have a DJ throwdown Tuesday thru Friday, with complete randomness on Saturday. Squeaky, Rest in Peace

I don't normally blog, but I wanted to pass a message on to anyone that has recently adopted a stray. Jen and I have had Squeaky, an amazingly loving, cute, gigantic Maine Coon cat. We had him for close to a year, but only recently has he been tame enough to get him to see the vet. I brought him in today, and a standard test is FeLV (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_leukemia_virus ). He ended up having it, which is a death sentence for cats. As painful as this was, he may have spread it to our other cats. We have to wait 6-8 weeks to have them tested, so we won't know till then. The message I wanted to spread is, have any new cats, particularly males that go outside, tested ASAP if you have other pets. No one wants to put a pet to sleep, but it's much better than if you have to do the same to your pets that you've had for much longer. We love you Squeaks, you were amazing, and we'll miss you.
