Starting tomorrow Im a full time student again, Yay!! Got myself a great schedule too all fit in tues and thurs and all UC transferable.Started Eye Contact tribe!!
I've always been fascinated with eye contact. The intensity, non verbal communication, being able to tell so much about a person.. things that are too hard to say with words. The amazing experiences that transcend time and space, a conduit for travel perhaps? Plus gas is so damn expensive now.. we really need to research and promote sustainable forms of travel! Eye contact is such a fabulous way to flirt, communicate, express or even to be discreet ! A subtle moment of eye contact thrown a friend's way can let them know you are happy, need help, something is wrong/right, to bail, to stay, you need a hug, just experienced something amazing, in fact I just keep thinking of more and more things... Really, is there nothing that cannot be expressed without the hindrance of words if you have that 'connection'?tribes.tribe.net/eyecontact
Stuffed tri-tip
Started about 2 1/2 pds piece of tri tip. I decided to try this with tri-tip over a roast cut, because tri tip cuts are usually flat-ish and my thinking was the stuffing would cook without taking forever.Slice into the cut and leave a raised lip where you initially slice in to help hold the goodies inside during cooking. I sliced to within 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of the three sides and the cut opened up very nice and wide and sat nicely opened up for me. Sprinkled in a good amount of 21 seasoning salute(trader joe's) and some lemon pepper. Stuffed in a layer of finely minced fresh garlic, sliced green onions, and crumbled gorgonzola cheese three times over on top of previous layer, then the leftover minced garlic close to the opening. Pushed the sliced back together and it stuck easily. Brushed an even teaspoon of olive oil on top and bottom then hit both with black pepper, lemon pepper, cayenne pepper and a little seasoned salt.
Into 8x8 (brownie size) pyrex and covered tighly with aluminum foil.
Into oven pre heated to 400+, turned down to 350 cooked for 50 minutes pulled out slice and check doneness was pretty much where I wanted it. rest of sliced green onions on top along with a generous amount of gorgonzola then back into the oven uncovered for another 6-8 minutes until the cheese had melted across the top. Turned off heat and let sit in oven for 2 more minutes.
Results: Absolutely mouth watering, the garlic completely infused into the entire cut. The green onions gave it a tiny bite and a nice tangy complement to the gorgozola which partially infused into the meat from the inside.
Very rich but not quite to a decadent point and didnt make me feel sluggish or weighed down afterwards. Friends were highly complementary of it.
Next time I am only turning oven down to 375 once I put it in and minusing 4 or 5 minutes off the cooking time.
For how well it turned out this was pretty easy, not time consuming, and not overly expensive.
what egyptian god are you?
Thoth: God of Wisdom and Time. You are a thinker. You consantly create and invent things. Intelligence is your greatest virtue, but don't become a know-it-all.Ahaa!! Nothing about not being a SMARTASS wooot!
What tarot card are you?
You are the Devil card. The Devil is based on the figure Pan, Lord of the Dance. The earthy physicality of the devil breeds lust. The devil's call to return to primal instincts often creates conflict in a society in which many of these instincts must be kept under control. Challenges posed by our physical bodies can be overcome by strength in the mental, emotional, and spiritual realms. Pan is also a symbol of enjoyment and rules our material creativity. The devil knows physical pleasure and how to manipulate the physical world. Material creativity finds its output in such things as dance, pottery, gardening, and sex. The self-actualized person is able to accept the sensuality and usefulness of the devil's gifts while remaining in control of any darker urges.
