Life is But a Dream

a dream

On the horizon, and so close, a rusted hulk shears the clouds with its lifeless, unblinking eyes. It rends the landscape, never ceasing, larger than imagination and just as unstoppable; without intent, relentless, pushing aside hills and mountains, forests; all the while, shaggy, prototypic cattle scatter around its unthinkable iron claws.

Down amongst the herd stands a girl, dirty, dressed in homespun; in her thin arms, an undisturbed dog is curled; its ears long, like a hare's, as is its bushy tail. Their eyes are cast down, seeking no answer, yet lacking nothing.

Awaken.
