If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?

Well that all depends on you defintition of sound. Certainly a fallen tree creates a vibration that would be interpreted by a human ear to be a sound. But what if there are no people in the vicinity of the fallen tree to hear it. Well that is a rather human centric view of the world. Animals hear sounds. And many animals are likely to hear the tree falling. Therefor, if a tree fallsin the forest it makes a noise whether a human hears it or not because animals here it.

One must also consider the lack of oxygen production from fallen trees and vegitation. By cutting down trees the planet and ozone layer lose oxygen production. That coupled with all the hot air from politicans who refuse to protect forrests around the world, could create a catastrophic environmental condition here on planet earth.
