General Information about Beltane: taken from : *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beltane Beltane is the anglicized version of the Gaelic name for the month of May. In some cases it is also the name of the festival that takes place on the first day of May. As an ancient Gaelic holiday it was celebrated around May 1, the date also known as May Day. Historically, this festival was celebrated in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. For the Celts, Beltane marked the beginning of the pastoral summer season when the herds of livestock were driven out to the summer pastures and mountain grazing lands. In modern Irish, Mí na Bealtaine ('month of Bealtaine') is the name for the month of May. The name of the month is often abbreviated to Bealtaine, with the festival day itself being known as Lá Bealtaine. Thats all good info, but...........a little bit more........ This time is known to some of us as station six of the year, Mystical Union. May is the month of the appearance on Earth of the mother goddess, whether as the Lady of WIccas, Mother Mary,Our Lady,and many other names from many traditions-She is appearing Always- this is the time of the Willow and of the Hawthorn- of the Emerald and the color White of Feasts and Fires- Leap through the smoke and fire and purify for the Summer Season of Fertility and Growth The Solar Fire Appearing as Balor, Bel, Belenos,Baldur... of Nine Woods and May Pole Feast on the May cake and rejoice that Summer is here! On Tuesday March 4th Gary Gygax died in his home at the age of 69. For those of you who are not familiar with this name, then perhaps you will recognize Dungeons and Dragons instead. Along with Dave Arneson, Gary Gygax created the first FRPG or fantasy role-playing game system. Gygax founded TSR or Tactical Studies Rules which published D&D and other games. Despite attacks by right -wing christian groups in the late '80's ( mainly the 700 Club then run by now-defunct Jim Bakker) D&D is still going strong with even more people playing than before! TSR eventually was bought by Wizards of the Coast which is under Hasbro toys-one of the biggest toy manuf./dist. in the world. Good luck trying to topple Hasbro christians! i just started my new job- CNA at Woodhaven carehome on the nocturnal shift 10:30 pm - 6:30 am. now i can keep my normal hours and it is much more meaningful work than what i have had recently.

i just came back from seeing/hearing Ravi Shankara and his daughter Anoushka =WOW=!! Very inspirational....they were throwing down 3, 2, 2 = 7 tablas, flute, sitar......OM......... Incredible!! with the crossing effects of the sitar and zither drones i could see how psytrance has some roots in East Indian classical style....
