It's Me!

Location
about me
My Family - Married 20+ years to Bob; mother of six grown sons, Troy, Dustin, Dale, Lance, Adam, and Zac. Grandmother to of seven wonderful little people, the boys, With Tobias, Max, brothers Kieran and Evan, and three beautiful girls, Autumn, Veronica, and Stefania.

I share the companionship of two terrific pups, Cedric the Rhodesian Ridgeback and Dayzee the Dingo and three cats, Gabby, Bono, and Eno.

My Professional Life - Internet content and developer since 1996. Before that executive research assistant, Motorola, for the VP, Mobile Data; assistant sysop at a number of Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) in and around Vancouver, BC. Content developer at The Mining Company/ About.com 1997 to 2001 where I was the Guide to Science and Nature for Kids and for Vancouver, B.C..

Bob and I were fortunate to be able to spend a few years in Hilo, Hawaii where Bob and I put our efforts towards promoting telework and employment via the World Wide Web as an alternative work option for Big Islanders. We also were active members of the Japanese Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, through create a Web presence and introducing the Chambers to the Internet. At this time Bob was also Guide to the Island of Hawaii, for The Mining Company. The time spent on the island and the wonderful people who befriended us will always hold very special memories. We spent many hours at Bytes & Bites Internet Cafe, our high-speed Cyber-oasis in the Pacific. One day we would love to return to our island home.

Back on the Canadian Mainland, Bob and I were correspondents (and I an Editor) at All Info-About where we create content for the Science for Families, Toys and Collectibles, Video Games, and the Web Almanac which features a variety of topics from the network of All Info-About Correspondents.

Family health matters necessitated time away from media work. I am currently working on my own network The Universal Knowledge Factory where I will continue to provide an eclectiv variety of content and information for all ages.

Fun Stuff - I enjoy collecting fine art which I inherited from my Uncle Fred and creating my own mandala art, photography, maintaining a bird, butterfly nature garden, leisurely walks and scenic hikes, reading numerous books simultaneously, viewing documentary film or reality television, stargazing with Bob and nature walks with my grandson Toba as he always has many interesting thoughts and questions about the world and how it works. I've come to the conclusion that there is always something to learn from an inquisitive five-year-old. Music has always been an important aspect in my life as I enjoy most musical styles and believe there is always something to learn about the science of sound.

In Conclusion - I have lived many lives, including my childhood on Vancouver Island and deal of the day Vancouver, BC.; a young hippie girl in Vancouver's Gastown scene in the early nineteen seventies, where I sold the Georgia Strait newspaper by day and was able to hang out with Bob Geldof and meet cool people like Alice Cooper while working for the underground newspaper; I found myself in East End Toronto as a young mom for the latter nineteen seventies/early eighties; raising a family in the Vancouver burbs for the most part of the nineteen eighties and early nineties; introducing the Internet, telework, and the benefits of personal technology to small town Big Island of Hawaii for the latter nineteen nineties.

Currently at home on a heritage farm in southwestern British Columbia. Contemplating returning to the Islands where the rain brings a rainbow just about every day, or returning to the Island of my birth. I've survived many a challenge including a physical disability and serious illness resulting in near-death. I endured a broken heart, in which I was rescued by Bob, my soul-mate for life. I care for my elderly mother and older brother who suffered a brain injury when I was only a toddler. The road has not always been an easy one, but it has been an interesting one. The I Ching guides my way. No matter how extreme the challenges that life throws towards me I know that it is natural for this to pass and my life situations will all shift to the opposite.

It's all about the Ying-Yang!

Currently I write and create content for the All Info-About Network online properties, Toys and Collectibles, Science for Families, Video Games and the weekly webzine, All Info-About Web Almanac. Also, in conjunction with the Web Almanac, I maintain a a directory of resources for a variety of topics and will soon be featuring media/ book reviews and profiles in conjunction with the launch of the new (and improved) Web Almanac. If you are an author, musician, game publisher or filmmaker who is interested in submitting media for review, please drop me a note.
