mmmmmm..
where to begin? This gorgeous goddess is a graceful, centered, earth spirit powerhouse hidden underneath an endearing dimple and sweet girlish giggle.
She's got her head on straight, and her heart on overdrive.
Such deeeeeeeeeeeeep power and beauty that i don't even think she fully realizes her own radiance.
She is an aphrodesiac in and of herself. (have you ever seen her spin light?) Smiling coyly and groovin deeply to her own sensual experience, Caitlin feels fully to oceanic depths, and guides her life gracefully like a shooting star.
Receiving her hug is like melting into the womb of Mamma Earth. She centers me and empowers me in moments when i have needed it the most. She is incredibly giving. and loving. and open and expressive with her heart. Can boogie down like a rockstar, and spin lightsticks like a firefly herself.
Those people of the earth tribe rising?? this chicka is leading the pack! Grounded. real. Invoking change on deep, important levels. Passionately and actively working to make this planet a more just and better place for us all.
You inspire me.
so much.

A soul friend.
A true sista
I am so thankful to have you in my life!
loving you........

Ah, Caitlin. Caitlin is a women of deep passionate beauty and immense clear-eyed intelligence who possesses an innately organic sense of what is and what is not justice. A creative drive made of real, geopolitical open-hearted romanticism, environmental wanderlust, and a deep deep desire to be part of the creative process that brings long-lasting Universal Peace, sustains and nourishes her. I have been honored to introduce her to possibility. She is a gentle soul, yet, Caitlin reminds me of one of those redwood trees she has probably hugged: strong, vibrant, shading, holding moisture and promise - - while nurturing a temperate rain forest -- as she reaches her arms up to her God and Universe.

Our true home is in the present moment.
To live in the present moment is a miracle.
The miracle is not to walk on water.
The miracle is to walk on the green Earth
in the present moment,
to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now.
Peace is all around us-
in the world and in nature-
in our bodies and spirits.
Once we learn to touch this peace,
we will be healed and transformed.
It is not a matter of faith;
it is matter of practice.

- Thich Nhat Hanh

Friends,

I have been asked to do a short reading at my best friend's wedding next month ~ a minute or two of poetry or other simple words. I may write something my own self, but wanted to ask you wise ones if you have a favorite love poem or other reading you can send my way. If they're not too long, post them in the comments so everyone can see!

Many thanks! And much love.

I just finished watching "Sicko," Michael Moore's documentary about the health care system in America. Have you seen this movie? It came out a while ago, but I didn't see it because I so rarely make it to the movie theatre, even though every friend who'd seen it implored the rest of us to go. (But I really would like to see "Mongol" on the big screen -- anybody want to see that one with me?) Zelig even brought it up when we were in the high desert back country on our vision quest last sum... read more

Gate C-22

At gate C 22 in the Portland airport
a man in a broad-band leather hat kissed
a woman arriving from Orange county
They kissed and kissed and kissed. Long after
the other passengers clicked the handles of their carry ons
and wheeled briskly toward short-term parking,
the couple stood there, arms wrapped around each other
like satin ribbons tying up a gift. And kissing.
Like she'd just staggered off the boat at Ellis Island,
like she'd been released from ICU, snapped

Sometimes, in my head, I write the story of this time in my life from a few years in the future.

From my cozy vantage point in the future, I'll look back with compassion at the over-scheduled, under-rested pace of my life. I'll remember with some melancholy the way that my exhaustion was so clearly mirrored in my health challenges -- the clumps of hair in my comb, the broken-out skin, the discomfort of excess flesh, the quickened-by-pharmaceuticals rhythm of my heart. I'll recall how I tr... read more

I took a 3-day personal growth course called the Arete Experience this weekend. You may or may not have heard about it, but here's a bit of how they describe it on their website (www.aretecenter.com):

"Through deep understanding and experiential insight you can discover the unconscious ways in which you hold yourself back in your life and your relationships. From that point forward you will experience immense freedom to choose who you are and what you want from your life. "

I want to ... read more
