While congress seems to be in the mood to spend sums of money that reads more like the distance between here and Alpha Centauri I have an idea that might be worth doing. Why not establish a Health Science Academy based on the same principles as the military academies? It would be tuition free with "payback" being based on pre-agreed terms of service in government organizations. The organizations that came to mind for me were the public health agency, the VA, and the military services. It ...

Thanks to being old and stuck in some of my ways I still have been doing a series of fishing blogs on myspace.... I just put one up on fishing off of a jetty over the years in Long Beach, California. George
One of the sites that might appeal to the "more mature" folks that read this is "Chaos Manor." It is Jerry Pournelle's site and tends to be more on the conservative side of the political spectrum. For those of you not familiar with Jerry he is a writer of science fiction with a Phd in psychology and quite a bit of political hands on experience. He was also involved with our space effort way beck when. Anyway, I find it worth reading because he is more apt to present both sides of an issue...
