about me
I live in Perth (Western Australia) and earn my crust modelling spatial and temporal changes in herbicide resistance of weeds given different management scenarios.
I have just finished a PhD in mathematics. My PhD developed statistical methodology for analysing data with underlying structure (temporal, spatial, or multi-dimensional) and applied it to different problems in image analysis. I've been learning aikido since 1998. I teach once a week and train several times a week. I love my bike and ride all year round. I love my iPod and rarely ride without it. I have a dog, a cat, and three mismatched chickens.

It's six weeks since I got back from Europe. In some ways, it feels like an age ago. Yet, the six weeks has passed so quickly that I find it hard to believe that much time has passed. So easily have I adapted to my new routines, it's as though I've always lived in half a house, with no kitchen or bathroom.

For the first three weeks after I returned, my builder was crook - he had shingles. "No worries", I said, "I can get by - it'll be like camping." "I love camping", I said. At tha... read more
