Holly Holly Holly. She may look like the girl next door, but you would be fooled like all those other suckers. She cheerleads my self-confidence and inspires me by her non-conformity despite the sweet chile look she carries off. A sweet smile and a mischievious laugh crosses her face more often than any sort of sour look. OK, maybe more often the mischievious laugh. Fun staying out late into the night or getting up early and playing in the ocean. She is a hot chick that surfs, belly dances, marries people in love, and is constantly looking to branch out with her skills. Yay!

Holly is a rockin' belly-dancin chick. I first met her at RISD where we were both slaves at the campus coffee shop. Oh, how we loved it there before it was taken over by the fascist administration (which I am, by the way, now a part of)....but I digress. Holly is an awesome friend and always there in a pinch if you need her. She loves to have fun...and walk around naked.

Fusion Bellydance Drills & Basics explores the rhythm, isolations, and nuances of Tribal Fusion bellydance. Every class starts with a warm-up session of stretching and conditioning, followed by drills and breakdowns of moves and transitions. While the focus will be on technical stuff, there will be dancing at the end of every class for musicality and rhythm training--and for fun, of course!

I had the extreme pleasure of performing as part of the Boiler Bar scene at the Maker Faire this past weekend, and took the opportunity to try out my brand new costume! I call it the Pretty Pink Princess costume, and yes that is a cabaret bra and belt set bought at Rakassah. Pants made by Katherine Summer, of course. It needs some adjustments, but I dig it so far...I have no idea what jewelry to wear with a cab outfit, but I'm thinking feathers and pearls, maybe...suggestions?

Last Friday I found myself once again cursing the fact that I didn't have a little packet of tissues with me while riding BART, since for the third time in the last year or so I found myself near someone crying on the train. The first time was actually outside of BART as I was walking to my car, when I realized that the woman walking a little ahead of me was almost sobbing. I finally got my hummingbird...and I am so in love with it. The second bird (which will be facing the first one a bit lower on the arm) is set to be done in about a month. That's the top of my right arm, in case you're wondering...and the redness around the lines will go away as it heals. The design is from a sketch/watercolor from National Geographic that came out last year, and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted it for a tattoo.

I got a random email about a different dog from Rocket Dog and then clicked on her picture too...and she's just so what I would look for: small, female, 2 years old, likes a quiet house, already housebroken, calm but likes to play, a good companion.
