Frustration

   Tue, April 1, 2008 - 11:43 AM
He broke my barn door (damn it to hell! )

He tweaked a stall

He put ridges in his horns because of slamming his head against cattle panels all afternoon

He pisses all over himself and tries to get scratches and kisses (god luv him)

He bent a panel (going to buy a rubber mallet and fix it today)

I have put of craigs list adds for a free goat to good home... nothing
I just emailed a friend to see about donating him to her brush control company.
I'm ready to drop him off in someones horse field but I can't bring myself to do that, they need their hooves trimmed and that would be animal cruelty in about three months.

GGGGAAAAAHHHHH!
Demon Goat!!!!!

retained testicle, can't get it removed for less than 600.00, already had it ultra sound, its way back inside his innards.

Yeah, he kind of looks like a bad seed. Billy Goat Gruff or something.

I don't think that's a good "starter goat" for me...pretty buff color though. And I do like beards!

Maybe you could 'donate' him to a local petting zoo?

I wish!!!

He has horns so they won't take him, not many people like horned goats

thanks for the idea tho

Yeah - I was going to say, that's a youtube flick ready to happen - little kids getting butted down by a goat.

once I was thinking of keeping a shelter dog I was fostering who had behavior issues. she was fine when I was there, destructive when I was gone. the shelter vet checked her out and recommended a light dose of doggie meds to calm her down and ease the separation anxiety. maybe your vet has something for goats?

or would fixing the testi calm his behavior? ($600 in damages can add up fast so it might be worth the trade off)
Unsu...

But...but...
he looks so innocent! Except for those glowing blue eyes....

Cover him in christmas lights and put him in the yard of someone who keeps their holiday decor up all year. They'll just think one of the reindeer came to life.

I was going to say what Liz said. Maybe if you fixed him, he'd calm down? I was (half) joking about the petting zoo. Any local goat farms? Geeze, I see your problem. If he was a kitten it'd be alot easier.

Well its really a money issue with me, his behavior is completely unacceptable to a point I don't like him, but still love him. The vets I've talked to really couldn't give me an honest answer on the money, only over 600.00 and no guarantee that it won't exceed 2,000.00. I have tried to find him a home probably for a whole year now. No one wants him. I can not bring myself to pay that kind of money for a goat that I don't even like.

Hard to explain but for me, thats a LOT of money for one goat that is completely worthless here.

I'm not going to stop looking for a home, just hoping something will pop up soon, just got finished fixing the door, its going to need to be wired shut until I can find another solution.

OMGOSH!!!! LMAO dress him in xmas lights and put him out as decoration... LOL!!!!! IF ONLY!!!

My dad had an incorrigible goat named "Bluff" back in the 50's. We retroactively diagnosed his ill-tempter from being a solitary buck who didn't have the company of other goats.

Bucks can be really mean sometimes. It's just how they are.

The meanest goat I ever saw was on the banks of the Ganges river in Varanasi, India. This thing was satan himself. Black, gnarly, ugly as sin, a hostile low bleat... and he'd try and butt whoever would walk by. Charge 'em like a bull.

I don't know what to do about your baaaaaaad acting goat but I wish you luck!

Maybe instead of fixing him, try fixing him up. You know?

It works for boys. ;)

What's this bastard's name?
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 5:05 PM
prozac? for the goat i mean, but you could take it too if you want.

Nip his lil boys down there and surround him with all males or really mean she goats that wont tolerate his crap....hhhmmm,,,,wait a second...better yet,,,put him in with a real bull...trhat'll settle him right down and quick...His head isnt harder than a real bulls head..LOL maybe a swift concussion from a peeved bull would change his perspective on life.:)

We have a local humane society that places all kinds of animals. Do you have something like that? Or you can call them and say you "found a goat"- (heehee) - pretend he's someone elses! Maybe they'll come take him away! Poor guy. I think he looks kind of cute but I'm up to my limit with animals. Sorry!

They train dogs... can you train a goat? Is there such a thing as a "Goat Whisperer"?
