I learned something yesterday at the Harmony Center. The Band did Across the Universe, and
Daniel spoke on 4 blessings of the Buddhist faith. Somehow everything came together nicely, in
my opinion, and John Lennon's song is about feeling "One" with all creation.
The 4 blessings in the Buddhist faith are: Love, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity.

I figured most of us out there don't know the meaning of "equanimity" so here it is. Everyone has a grip on
the other terms. Love can mean many things as for the other terms. Please take a minute and think about what
these words mean to you. Love - Compassion - Joy - then read on. No cheating. Now take a minute....

Okay. What I thought was interesting, and what I learned was the Buddhist definition of these terms are as follows:

Love - Wanting others to be happy.
Compassion - wanting others to be free from suffering
Joy - Being happy with someone's good fortune or happiness
Equanimity - not to distinguish among friend, enemy or stranger.

I thought these were very interesting. Just think if our World Leaders felt this way. Would there be world peace - or what?

Have you seen Gomer lately?

Has anyone out there heard or seen Gomer? Last heard he went on a ski trip and hasn't come home. There was a headless torso that showed up in the ER out in the styx somewhere. No ID has been made, but a torso showing up at an ER is considered "a Gomer" in hospital terms.

Medical term for a person (or body) that is unwelcome in the Emergency Room is known as a Gomer. FYI.
