Daniel spoke on 4 blessings of the Buddhist faith. Somehow everything came together nicely, in
my opinion, and John Lennon's song is about feeling "One" with all creation.
The 4 blessings in the Buddhist faith are: Love, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity.
equanimity |ˌēkwəˈnimitē; ˌekwə-|
mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, esp. in a difficult situation : she accepted both the good and the bad with equanimity.
equanimous |iˈkwänəməs| |iˈkwɑnəməs| |əˈkwɑnəməs| |ɪˈkwanɪməs| |iː-| adjective
ORIGIN early 17th cent. (also in the sense ‘fairness, impartiality’ ): from Latin aequanimitas, from aequus ‘equal’ + animus ‘mind.’
I figured most of us out there don't know the meaning of "equanimity" so here it is. Everyone has a grip on
the other terms. Love can mean many things as for the other terms. Please take a minute and think about what
these words mean to you. Love - Compassion - Joy - then read on. No cheating. Now take a minute....
Okay. What I thought was interesting, and what I learned was the Buddhist definition of these terms are as follows:
Love - Wanting others to be happy.
Compassion - wanting others to be free from suffering
Joy - Being happy with someone's good fortune or happiness
Equanimity - not to distinguish among friend, enemy or stranger.
I thought these were very interesting. Just think if our World Leaders felt this way. Would there be world peace - or what?
p.s. Each Sunday the Joyful Harmony Band does about 10 songs from 11 AM to Noon at the
Veteran's Hall on the corner of Grand and Harrison in Oakland, CA

I believe it's still better. And what's with all those annoying
applications of facefuck? I tried the family tree thing and it's
so lame I'm sorry I did. This thread will go unnoticed....
my 2 cents
Medical term for a person (or body) that is unwelcome in the Emergency Room is known as a Gomer. FYI.
Well, let me know if you hear anything. I'll be using his studio for now. CD number 5 "Guitar Hero" out soon.
