I've Been Tagged and So Have You. Not Like That, Though.....

RULES - Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

awww......Mine's all long.

1. I hate Los Angeles, but I'm enjoying myself here. I'm frontwoman of local punk (?) band, Bull Lee, dancer in DMT, fire dancer, Captain of Squad A in the LAFC, belly dancer (2 upcoming gigs!), founder of a used art supply store, Redrawn Arts, in the planning stages of my real, and one of the lead art handlers at LA's most notable art handling company. I've got an entirely flantastic, sweetest best boyfriend ever, a wholly flantastic roomie, and live in an allright area. But I still feel like I'm wasting my time and spinning my wheels until I get out of LA.

2. I played guitar in a punk band in high school. Our first fan had a huge crush on me, and wanted very badly to chill us. He was extremely annoying and we felt we needed to "take care" of things. So we invited him to go out with us on one of our tagging sprees that involved scaling buildings as well. The climb on our main building was treacherous, the guy was chubby and needed alot of help. My boyfriend, Stacy, went up with him while me and Megan stayed down. We heard Stacy "think" he heard a cop car, tell Rob (the guy) to get down, and next thing we knew, Stacy careened off the roof, and landed running. Me and Megan were allready running towards the car. We all hopped in, sped off for about 15 minutes before we felt guilty for leaving Rob of the roof (I still had his jacket). We went back and he wasn't there. After 2 hours of looking, we found him red from crying a block from his house. In exchange for his jacket, we all got death threats from him. After 2 weeks of lying low and being nice, everything blew over and he was back to being the bands' ..1 fan.

3. I moved to NYC when I was 18. I got a job 3 days later as a bike messenger. Our base was on 12th St, my first run was to 33rd St, and I asked someone how to get there. (which is funny). I messengered for 8 months, grew up about 8 years, and left because I decided I wanted to work at an ice cream shop before I turned 20. I worked at Ben and Jerry's and served vanilla ice cream to Balki Bartakamous.

4. What I want, more than anything right now, is for the days to be 48 hours long and you still only have to work 8 hours.

5. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a glamourous actress with wavy deep brown hair in a classy red dress by day and a spy by night. Then I just wanted to be a spy. Now I want to be a 1920s-era German caberet lounge singer. I also still want to run away and be a carny, as I have since I was 7. But a 1930s Dust Bowl carny. I also want to live in a Nick Cave song.

6. I wish I could feel things as deeply as I could when I lived on the East Coast. Which is most of the reason I need to return to NYC. I want to be able to cry from being overwhelmed by tragic beauty again. I want to physically shake from entering the depths of my mind again. I want to self-induce states I can't describe again. I've lived in Berkeley, and it never happened there either. I was told the land out west was the most spiritual land in the US. I believe for me, the land is too new. I like living among dark spiritual crowds and clouds of history. That's my home.

7. I had an older brother, grew up in a neighborhood of guys who let me play war games with them, was the only girl in my high school punk band; the jobs I've had are mainly working with guys, am in another all guy band now. I get along well with other fine ladies, but often see that as a jaunt into the sisterhood world, where I still feel only a visitor. I don't know what femininity is and think exalting women just because they're women is bullshit. Call me a goddess and Ill bitch slap you like a drag queen.

8. I'm terrified that I'm not doing enough to accomplish all my goals and that I'll spend my life wandering. I'm also overwhelmed by the enormous meaning my goals have to me. So much so that I still can't look back on my original brainstorming notes for my business when I first had the idea without letting a few tears go, and I haven't started a new session of brainstorming yet because I'm scared my emotions will overtake my business sense allready. But it's nearly all I think about.

I hereby tag Mr. Octavio Lopez; my playa brotha from anotha motha, Ernest; Alayah, Juniper, Sioux, and Chip the Cowboy.

Press Release for My Band, Bull Lee. Hells Yes, Mofos, Hells Yes.

Classic cars and Punk Rock to Invade South Bay Catholic Elementary School

(Long Beach, CA) Hollywoods female-fronted, combustible quartet BULL LEE will rock the 3rd Annual Long Beach Car Show for the second year in a row at 5PM on Saturday, May 6th at St. Anthonys Elementary School in Long Beach.

If you like your rock delivered loud, hard and fast, with hooks, no fat, and a healthy dose of sex appeal; this band is for you. U.K. journalist Sarah Dobbs called their music shout-along stuff, sleazy rock for playing loud, in darkened rooms and they take no exception.

The BLs come a long way since last years LBCS performance at which time they had only been performing together for 3 months. They rocked the show with the last of a handful of boring singers that were passed over in the first half of 2005.

The following month, guitarist John Dissed and BC (bass) -- the co-writers and masterminds behind the band along with drummer Kevin Pope, discovered NY transplant, Trisha Hanudel at a karaoke bar spitting out sexy versions of 80s covers. One week later she was in the band and their first gig took place soon after at the Burning Man Decompression festival in downtown L.A. They had no idea what they had until they watched video footage of the show and were blown away by her performance. Trishas the real deal says Dissed, no one can touch her on the stage; not Love, Jett, Harry, and certainly no one out there today.

This years performance promises to be a completely different experience. With almost a year of continuous gigs under their belt, Bull Lee, with Hanudels Tourettes-like spasms out in front, provides an exciting, kick-in-the-ass alternative to the understated indie disco that has taken over the airwaves of late.

It is time for your wake-up call.

BULL LEE can also be seen Wednesday, May 3 at the Blue Café in Long Beach (www.thebluecafe.com); and on campus at Cerritos College in Norwalk on Tuesday, May 9 at 12 noon. Their self-released 3-song Fairfax Ave EP can be purchased online through their web-site. The EP is a pre-cursor to a 10-song release due in June.
