I have always been moved when I find a quote that says something that is especially moving or especially touches something that is important to me at a given time.
It seems that today so much of the eloquence of the English Language has been lost when we try to express our thoughts and feelings, our ambitions, our loves or hates, our wants and needs, our views of life and deaths, how we see that world and what we see in the world. Now it is difficult to find someone who can even say/write a complete sentence not to mention one that makes sense.
Finding quotes that say something, or move you, or just make you think have become treasured items that I need to stash away so they won't be lost. You may enjoy them - knowing this group, a lot will probably be familiar (there will be a challenge to find that which is not hackneyed or trite). There is no order or sequence to these, they come as they come to me.

Hope has two beautiful daughters: their names are anger and courage. Anger that things are the way they are. Courage to make them the way they ought to be.” Saint Augustine
