Off to nap, up at 4, clean the house, run a few errands, go to SFO, sit around for 2 hours, board a plane, sit around for 10 hours, get the Underground to King's Cross, ride a train for 2 hours, arrive in York utterly exhausted, call for the car to our Home for the next 3 days (http://www.middlethorpe.com/), check in, have tea, fall into a stupor. That's vacation day one <lol>.

Two full days to explore York/Jorvik, the up to Edinburgh. Hotel is RIGHT next to the Castle, with a view of it from the room's windows. Nice. Three days there...just enough to say Hi and see if we want to go back another time : ).

Then it's down to London for a week! Never tire of that town. Best shows ever, great places to have tea, fabulous day-trip possibilities. PLan to hit Camdentown for clothes, and Highgate Cemetary again, this time with a camera 'cause it's so beautiful. Maybe take a trip out to Cambridge, and another to Oxford (we ALWAYS go to Oxford for a day), maybe someplace else. I don't like to over plan. Just go and see were the whims take us.

So very much looking forward to those first three days at the National Trust property in York. I can pretend that it's my own stately home <sigh>. I love starting a vacation nice and slow and quiet, and this place is 1.5 miles out of town, so I think it will be ideal. We'll see.

Anyhow, I'm finally starting to look forward to it, which is really nice : ). Once the long travel day is over, I hope that it will all be fabulous : ). Expect mondo pictures and babbling about it all when I get back!

Have a great couple of weeks here while the cat's away!! I'll miss my daily dose of you guys, but I'm sure that you'll keep the home fires burning for rme : ). See you in 2 weeks!!

I went to a random site and pulled a random virtual tarot card and this was it <lol>.

"Temperance
Keywords: providing aid, healing, concentration, moderation.
Astrological Correspondence: Sagittarius
Description: The angel between heaven and earth blending different elements into a harmonious substance represents a bridge between polarities, like heaven and earth, masculine and feminine, beginning and end. The combining of varied substances serves as imagery for the merging of diverse forces to create a new whole for cooperation, coordination, a harmonious balance, looking for a middle ground, achieving healing, and recovery. Temperance signifies that moderation is necessary to regulate passions and maintain harmony in relationships, and to build tolerance and cooperation in groups. In a negative situation, Temperance characteristics are indecision, inconstancy, excess, obsession, and lack of control."

I never seem to blog nowadays, since I started vlogging on YouTube. But hey, I can do a meme <g>. Sniped from Sean.

1. Who was the last person to call you baby?
I don't think anyone calls me that.

2. When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
Oh, yes. I'm kinda psycho about it, actually.

3. If you had to kiss the last person you kissed, would you?
Absolutely. Every chance I get.

4. Has someone ever sang a song to you?
Lots of people have sung FOR me, but I don't know if it was TO me.

5. Do you play Sudoku?
I used to, but got bored with it.

6. If abandoned alone in the wilderness would you survive?
I'd like to think so, but one of the best woodmen I know of died from pneumonia after surviving 10 days lost in the snow, so I dunno.

7. If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you would do?
Find my hubby, then throw the cats in their crate.

8. Who was the last person you shared a bed with?
My hubby.

9. Who do you text the most?
I'm not really a texter. Don't have a QWERTY on my phone, so it's too much hassle.

10. Who last said they loved you?
My hubby.

11. What color are your eyes?
Grey-blue, with orange in the middle.

12. How tall are you?
5'6. Used to be 5'6 1/2", but I've probably settled, and I have horrid posture.

13. Do you like your parents?
Some better than others.

14. Do you secretly like someone?
No...everyone knows how much I like them, I think. I'm pretty bold that way.

15. Why did your last relationship end?
Diverging life paths? We're still pals, so I don't really think I've actually *ended* a relationship since 1987.

16. Who was the last person you said you loved on the phone?
My hubby.

17. Favorite ex-Beatle?
Never was a big fan, though I know the lyrics to everything.

18. Where was the furthest place you traveled?
What's farther from SF, London or Paris?

19. Do you like mustard?
If it's good mustard. Not a fan of the yellow stuff, except of crappy hot dogs, which just scream for it.

20. Do you prefer to sleep or eat?
Sleep, oh blessed sleep. Though I'm a big fan of both.

21. Do you look like your mom or dad?
I look most like my paternal grandfather. Parentally, I have the bone structure of my mother and the coloring of my father.

22. How long does it take you in the shower?
5 minutes, unless I'm shaving or in pain.

23. Can you do splits?
I did it once on a wet, grassy hill. OUCH. Never on purpose, though.

24. What movie do you want to see right now?
I wanted to see 'Year One' yesterday, but didn't. Maybe on Tuesday. Or Transformers, for the CGI. Or Public Enemies for Johnny : ).

25. What did you do for New Year's Eve?
Stayed in bed with the hubby.

26. Do you think The Grudge was crappy?
Yes. But I watched it anyhow, for Sarah Michelle Gellar.

27. Was your mom a cheerleader?
Not even.

28. What's the last letter of your middle name?
N

29. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
3 or 4, usually. I thrive on 7 or 8, but can't remember the last time that happened.

30. Do you like care bears?
I'm a bit old for those...I think I was 17 or so when they came out.

31. What do you buy at the Movies?
Nachos! My friend Betty got me on the movie nacho kick years ago...it's all her fault. Everything else, I bring with me.

32. Do you know how to play poker?
Yes, and I even cleaned house the last time I played : ). I'm better at Black Jack, though, 'cause I used to deal it.

33. Do you wear your seatbelt?
Every time I'm in a car, since I was 18.

34. What do you wear to sleep?
Whatever I want. Usually nothing, but sometimes just whatever shirt I have on at the time.

35. Anything big ever happen in your town?
It's Oakland...the list would be long.

36. Is your hair straight or curly?
Straight, with a couple of bizarre waves just to make things annoying <g>.

37. Is your tongue pierced?
No, but I thought about it. My dentist on convinced me not to.

38. Do you like Liver and Onions?
WHLEAH! Haven't had it since I was a kid, but I remember it being awful.

39. Do you like funny or serious people better?
I like smart people with a sense of humor. Serious is great at times, but I like a person who isn't afraid to be silly.

40. Ever been to L.A.?
Lots. Need to go again soon.

41. Who or what is on your mind right now?
Fleas. And what I need to do today.

42. Any plans for tonight?
Maybe dragging my hubby to a movie? We don't make a lot of firm plans on work days (or really, ever). We just go where our whim takes us.

43. What's your favorite song at the moment?
Too many options, but 'I'm on a Boat' by The Lonely Island has come up a lot lately.

44. Do you hate chocolate?
Does anyone? Really?

45. Are you in college?
Not at the moment, but I'm prone to going back every now and again.

46. Do you need a boyfriend/girlfriend to be happy?
I'd say that my husband is a HUGE part of my happiness, but I don't actually know if I *need* someone. Before I was married, I was always with someone, but it was more a matter of enjoying having someone to do things with, not really a need.

47. If you could have any job what would it be?
Dominar of a vast estate ; ).

48. Are you easy to get along with?
Usually. When I'm not, I generally try to keep to myself.

49. What is your favorite time of day?
Morning, if I accomplish a lot. Bed time, if I think I'm going to actually sleep.

50. Are you a generally happy person?
I would say so. I have a lot to be happy about. I'm kind of a grumpy person, but I'm still *happy*.

It's the weekend, finally, after a 40-day work week!! Woo-Frakin'-Hoo!!

I worked hard, had a fun show, saw TONS of my friends and made some new ones, pocketed a bit of change, did some networking, and am SO happy it's over <g>.

And I made "Meat People" of two more Tribers (three, really, and a lovely sister, too!!), so now I actually KNOW more that 50% of my Tribe Friends, which rocks : ). I love meeting you guys. I aim to meet you all before this is over <lol>.

Let's see if this works. I put my vlog into a "group", so I can have it be private and still have more than 25 people see it. So, if you want to see it, the channel is: http://www.youtube.com/group/GrrrArgh2.

I invited everyone who was already on the list, plus the people who sent me email addresses yesterday. Let me know if you can see it? It doesn't tell me who has joined at this point, so I'm not sure if the invites got out. And if you want to be invited, PM me your email address.

Thanks : ). Just wanna keep this to my friends and not the YouTube world at large : ).

Just spoke with the frame company, and they're going to send out new ones...hopefully SOON. She said she'd try to rush it, but we'll see. Just hope these ones don't arrive broken, too <lol>. The good thing is that she said I could donate the broken ones (or hell, maybe I'll try to repair them AFTER the show, when I have time), so I don't even have to worry about shipping them back. All very good, as long as I get replacements in time : ). Yay!

It's Official...there's a new GrrrAnimal in the house.

Didn't wanna say anything until we saw the vet this morning. All clear except for a little runny eye issue, and an adult cat at the breeder's house was sneezing, so I'm thinking it will clear up on it's own now that he's away from there.

So, this is Churchill : ). He's going to be my scapegoat for all typos and bizarre computer things for a while, since he loves to walk on the keyboard. Silly thing. I've always wanted a blue male....ever since I first saw the breed in 1989, in the movie Pet Sematary. We named him after the adorable blue male zombie cat in that movie <lol>. Hopefully, he won't eat anyone's brain.

But, YAY! New kitten!!!!

The only bad thing is that Ophelia, who NEVER hissed at nor smacked Titus, immediately got all hackles up and pissy about the little cat. So I'm keeping them separated when I'm not in the room, and expect the transition to take a few weeks. Wish me luck on that. Just have to make sure everyone's claws are kept short <g>.

But, still, new kitten!! CUTE!!

Okay, so I was out getting stocking stuffers and came across the magazine pictured above. I knew it existed (c'mon, you guys know me <lol>), but I'd NEVER seen it on a newsstand before. Of *course* I had to buy it <g>. Haven't perused it yet, but I'm sure it will be awesome. Perhaps I shouldn't have dinner at the same time. Tamales with a nice chunky red salsa, so no problem, right? Right?

(Hey! I just looked at the site, and this was LAST month's issue. I feel wronged <snort>.)

5 un-wrappable things that I want for Christmas.

1. Perfect health, or at least the drive to make the health that I can control the best that it can be.

2. Sex. More sex. Lots of sex. I only had it twice this year!! TWICE!

3. Space dust to fall on everyone in the world to teach them compassion. For themselves and for others.

4. More time with the people in my life. Friends, family, acquaintances, loved ones. I value going places and sharing experience MUCH more than a gift under the tree.

5. To be able to put a down payment on our eventual retirement property. Dunno if Santa deals in Real Estate, but it sure would be nice.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Paper. Whether it's brown paper, rice paper, handmade paper, or whathaveyou, it's going to be color coordinated and over the top <lol>.

2. Real tree or Artificial?
Real, 'cause I love the smell.

3. When do you put up the tree?
If I do it (about every other year), as early as I can and still have it green on Xmas.

4. When do you take the tree down?
Usually by New Year's Day.

5. Do you like eggnog?
I never did, until I had Bud's Eggnog, and OMG, that stuff is gooooooooood.

6. Favorite gift received as a child:
My first gun, from my stepfather, which my mother promptly took away <lol>.

7. Hardest person to buy for?
I used to love finding the perfect thing, but now everyone HAS everything, so everyone.

8. Easiest person to buy for?
My BFF. I see things all year that I think "she'd LOVE this".

9. Do you have a nativity scene?
Nope. I'm a godless heathen.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Cards! Though I have done ecards for people that I don't have snail addresses for, you can't put those on the mantel, so meh.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
A freakin' Christmas sweater, from the ex-MIL. Hello? Me? Rudolph? I think not.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
White Christmas

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Nowish? Sometimes I find things during the year and save them, but I'm bad at that.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Not that I can recall.

15.Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Fresh gingerbread....yum.

16. Lights on the tree?
Absolutely. Most of my ornaments light up, so I have to have lights to plug them into. I must have 10 different sets of lights.

17. Favorite Christmas song?
Baby it's Cold Outside, as sung by Dean Martin. He makes a great perv.

18.Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Home. I hate holiday travel.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
What Mickey said. I mean, he could have others, besides the 9 we all know.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
Anything with a hole that the tree top will fit into is fair game (seriously...it can get scary). Sometimes I have a star, but it's a real dried starfish.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
One on Xmas eve, to tide everyone over until morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
The crowds, and the lack of "Christmas Spirit". Remember when people were nicer at this time of year?

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?
Nearly all of my ornaments are Star Trek ships. I like the look of a Victorian tree, too, though.

24. Favorite item of holiday wear?
As long as it's velvet and over-the-top, it's all good. I have a green velvet gown that I wear to office parties to combat the glut of Rudolph sweaters on all of the other women. I'm a bitch.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
A kitten, a heat gun, and a human skull.

26. On a scale of 1 to 10, how many lights (like the Griswalds) do you have outside?
Zip. I used to want the big house lights, like my grandparents had, but I'm fundamentally lazy.

29. Favorite Christmas tradition?
Munching cinnamon doughnuts and mulled cider while my hubby and my "platonic life partner" crack up over their wacky stocking stuffers : ).

30. Non-stop Christmas music radio station?
I have an iPod playlist of the holiday music that I actually like.

31. Stockings or not?
Absolutely. Best part of the whole gift thing.

32. Pie or Cake?
Pie just seems more holidayish.

33. Do gift cards make good gifts?
Nope. I prefer something that someone picked for me...cards are just like exchanging money.

34. What is your preferred spelling for the Jewish Festival of Lights?
I like it with a 'C'. Just feels better in the mouth.
