RELIGION VS. PROGRESS

RELIGION VS. PROGRESS

Its funny to me how some people can truly believe that they are making large steps forward in life while they still hold so many boundaries for them selves through their religious beliefs.A closed mind is a closed mind no matter what you want to label it.
I do not pretend to know all the answers nor do I want to put my self on a pedestal and rant my own beliefs, that is not my place.Everyone needs to have there own grasp on what reality is and who they are but you will never know who you are if you dont let go of those preprogrammed ideas on what is real.
Yes write and wrong and life and death is all part of this grey area that is our existence, to think that you know anymore than someone els no mater of age ,color ,creed ,sex ,or lifestyle etc. is a closed minded move.
Respect and acceptance of one another is the glue that hold it all together when these start to break down so dose community.
What hard core religious groups do is tear away at this glue that hold us together and segregates those who do not conform to their beliefs and looks down from there high horse of imaginary power to intimidate the masses into believing.
They teach non acceptance and hatred in a way that makes them truly believe that they are doing it for the right reasons witch makes it not only right but righteous and you will be rewarded for these actions in death.
Be aware of the surrounding you put your selves in and pay close attention to any groups of people who want to make you conform to their beliefs or lifestyle in order to be part of the community.
But I do believe these people can learn to live in reality and keep the ideas that the religions were based off of only then will " I " truly believe that we as a species will be able to Have real Progress.

Much love and respect to all

Hmmm
You've been around religious groups your whole life and have never been worried about them trying to conform you. Why the sudden change of heart? Some of those colorado crazies coming after you?

anyone that uses the bible as a weapon is completely off 'the path'. i believe a true 'christian' would have the being of compassion and understanding and would have love for all people, no matter what they are doing.

" RELIGION VS. PROGRESS "
....looking at the results of history I'd say these are opposing forces....

"to think that you know anymore than someone else no matter of age ,color ,creed ,sex ,or lifestyle etc. is a closed minded move. "
...indeed.

nicely said nate, hope you both are well. thinking of movin back to oregons freedoms that so many of your friends are about?

my general reference to much of that is people who are of "misplaced self-righteousness", those who attempt controlling decisions, behavior, or others and so forth....

love is the real basis of humanitys' efforts, and standing against abuse, no?

lol

This reminds me of how a certain group of people really wanted to dance and enjoy a party without being told that there needed to be an intentional altar or other basis for the enjoyment and fun.

The forced concept of "opening up" and "we accept individuality as long as it is like us" is rampant everywhere.

It's best to not think about it too much.

GyPsy is not worried about religious freaks converting him, but tainting the community.
This is a NW person, not Colorado...ironic no?

"This is a NW person, not Colorado...ironic no?"

Sounds like a typical NW person to me.

I hear ya, conforming to a religion or cult or whatever you want to call it totally strips away your power. A year ago I finally was able to let go of some people that got me going on their trip for awhile. Now that I look back at it, I can't believe I got so involved with that stuff, and how I treated people and how I acted towards everyone was not at all like myself. I let go of my own power to follow one persons ideals. In away it does break down close community, but at the same time, if you all come out of it alive, you are stronger than you were before....

"if you all come out of it alive, you are stronger than you were before.... "

Which is exactly why all things lead to a better tomorrow.
:)

It just takes reflection and understanding!

Yes it is true...
It was a NW person who brought all this up for me but it is not an isolated thing, it is a global problem and has to be dealt with gently...
To be able to have been in the full grasp of this energy and to break loose and reflect and grow on it is a beautiful thing.I am happy that you have been able to feel this moonica.I was raised in a Spanish catholic family and went to sunday school , babtised and the whole deel ,but I had no other point of reference in life everyone in my family seemed to have went through it so I did it with out question just like they like.
But to learn from this and apply what I needed in my life was my true lesson.

The wolf still watches and weights to attack.
