Halima is cooler then little bunnies with fairy wands blessing people with neverending supplies of dark chocolate. She's an awesome dancer and her husband is really neato. Heh. Love ya honey. :)

Halima, oh gosh where could I ever start? Known her since about 1998, maybe even 1997. One of the big heartedest, craftiest, free spiritedest, people to come down the 'pike. She'll always have a good story to tell and good food to feed you. And if you ask nicely I bet she'd belly dance for you too!

Halima is a lot of fun and I've known her for a couple years now. She is a good dancer, and loves to dance with others. She is absolutely fiber obsessed and makes the most amazingly little felt thingies. I can't even begin to imagine how those are created. She and beledigirl dance very well together, and are very insync when they dance. They also sew some great costumes, something I really stink at.

I have known Halima for about 5 years; she is a good friend and my SCA 'sister.' Halima is a woman of many talents--you name an art or craft and she has probably tried it and done so successfully! Not only that, but she is willing to teach what she's learned to others. Halima likes a good party and is my dance partner in crime.

Becoming Halima
I grew up a farm kid from a very crafty family. My mother's mother was a creative seamstress who had sewn for years in a baby clothes factory and in her early retirement had made a small mint of money on the craft show circuit selling cabbage patch kid clothes during the big cabbage patch kid fad. My father's mother crocheted fine doilies with tiny thread and crochet hooks. She qu...

I'm watching two angora rabbits for one of the folks in the barony while she is on a trip for a month. They are so cute and fuzzy! Like a cotton ball with a head and leggs. Those of you that live in my area should come and see them.

I finished reading this book while at Lilies War. It is a seriously good book even for those who don't have Mongol personas, or even those who aren't SCA geeks like me. The book won't tell you a damn thing about how to make your Mongol garb, but it will give you a completely rounded picture of the Mongolian mind, and what everyone else who came contact with them must have been thinking. This book starts out in the childhood of Genghis Khan, a poor orphaned outcast who somehow concoured mos...

Well, its May and you know what that means, the warm weather has infected my brain and all I can think about is camping and dancing outdoors. As always but really right now I'm making felt like crazy. I'm getting ready for Baron Wars and Lilies War out in Missouri. Here is one of my latest pieces. The design comes off of a bronze age celtic sword scabbard. Its not functional its just "art".

I've been sick all day and felt like it was a good day to just sit in front of the computer and update my website. Check it out and let me know if something doesn't work or if it doesn't make sense or is spelled wrong or what have you. Oh and sign my guest book! www.wanderingsheep.com
