Well I was not laid off, only "demoted" to being a Psychologist, which pays less than a Supervising Administrative Analyst. Does that make sense to you? Me neither.

I'm really disturbed by supporters of Prop 8. Right wing christian haters. How do you defend marriage by stopping people from getting married? I see supporters here in Chico when I go to the supermarket. They have signs that say that Prop 8 = free speech. What? How? They also claim it is religious freedom. How is it freedom to tell other people what they can do? I hope it goes down to defeat.

No this isn't a race and the situations I'm talking about are nothing like what your talking about. In the situations you describe yeah it wouldn't be a good idea.

But if letting them do that gets them into the clinic, it might be a good strategy. Of course I'm talking about mental health not AIDS, but in either case it would be more important to get them into treatment than to deny their crazy religion.

That does totally suck.
OTOH I think it is a good idea for mental heath providers to include shaman and animist rituals in their care. The reason is that it gets people in the door so they can get real treatment. So it is a difficult trade off. ... read more discussion post on Sat, November 7, 2009 - 7:10 AM
