Who am I, am I Matt, Matthew or Conner, I don’t know any more. When I was very young I was only Matt, then one day my cousin told me my name was Matthew. I didn’t believe her so I went home and asked my mom and she said that’s was right. I didn’t what to be Matthew, I was Matt. Matthew was to much of a name for a 6-year-old to have. But I have learned to like Matthew, its form the bible. Although my parents didn’t chose it because of that, they just like the name.
My middle name is Lowell. When I found this out I hated it. It was an ugly name, an old name. I didn’t know any one named Lowell. I what’d a cool middle name, not Lowell. But then I leaned latter on that it was my dads fathers first name. I was given it just like my dad had been given his middle after his dads fathers first name. And after my dad died this mad me feel close to him, that he care enough to pass on his dads’ name to me.
So many people call me Conner now of days. I am not sure how this got started. When I was very young I didn’t know any one named Matt. But then I meet my cousin named Matt too. When we were together he was Matthew and I got to be Matt. In high school I meet other Matt’s. And that’s when people started to call me Conner. It was a name no one else had, so there was no way to mix me up with any one else. I like to be called Conner. We are a family that has been here since 1823, when the first Conner was born in America. You will find it all over Kentucky, on name of a school, a town and through out the history of the state. So being Conner is ok with me too.
