People I meet along the way..

I am a big fan of R. Bach’s. Although I haven’t read all his books, I have read a couple. And in my favorite one, “Illusions” he writes about people meet for a reason…things happen for a reason, we are responsible for our own feelings etc. Good book indeed :-)

I was at a local craft fair on Saturday and the lady vending next to me does Mission work in Nicaragua. Her and her family goes twice a year to help out. She sells personalized journals (notebooks with art paper glued on) to raise money for her trips. I looked through her Photos and listened to her stories as she shared with passerby’s…Fascinating and some sad experiences she has had or has seen. You know they have many orphaned children, but the government will not allow foreign adoption …so many kids die. The reason the government doesn’t allow it (so she told me, haven’t researched it yet) is that they don’t want to lose their future “work force”… how lovely (insert very sarcastic tone).

It is a Christian based Mission organization www.amigosforchrist.org however, a monotheistic religiondoesn’t seem to be the focus… they just say “developing their spirituality” , or something like that. And I suppose, since its easier to get funding for Christian based religions they might as well go with it.

I want to go… I don’t know if I can do it this year but next fall or summer 2009 I want to go . it’s a Saturday to Sunday trip, but if I go I will spend a week in Nicaragua then make a slight jaunt down to Costa Rica..G. will come with…I think it would be good for him to realize that there is a whole other world out there outside the Midwest. And to go with people who have gone many times…know the ropes, what to do etc..is a plus! (Costa Rica , would be for me/fun.. but it is close by and were down there anyway).

So I am writing it down...

Ever notice thing you write down tend to happen?

So…

Burning man 2008: Me ( & Ro Maybe Fred...hes thinking about it) and ????
Tall ship adventure summer: G& Me...before G hits highschool forsure.
Nicaragua mission/Costa Rica (probally 2009): G & Me &??? (I may be dating by that time... in the same state...LOL)

Other thoughts: Support your local crafter small biz.

Also for Yule/Christmas I am not patronizing any corp stores… all my gift that I will be giving out will be from the crafters I have vended with. The big time stores don’t need my money.. I got the coolest hand blown & stained glass hummingbird feeder for my dad, similar one for my mom.. Some cool stuff for my nephews & friends. A personalized journal for G. This weekend is the last one I have for the year…so I will be finishing up all yule/xmas shopping. I have to get it done before I leave for Iowa...just in case...ya never know… ( I read the surgery disclaimer & consent. form….I am scared)….

And with the above statement of writing things down:

I will live and have fabulous results/recovery, be ecstatically happy (see writing it down… it happens… ) And the surgeon will reduce my fees so they can show off my before & after ass/ legs on their website… (ok had to write that down… just in case LOL)

-- Tall Ship Adventure... you mean, like a cruise? They can be a blast and/or relaxing

PS I've seen some pix on Websites... I suspect your "before pix" are far more attractive than many of those "after pix!"
