Outside of the fact that telemarketers seem to call you just at that moment when you just got that 17th plate spinning on a pencil, it's the bull-headed persistences that can make you hold the receiver from your face and look at it in amazement. (Did you really just say that?) What's worse is how you have stand being truncheoned by a shitty sales push when you are a captive audience, like when you attempt to cancel a magazine subscription, or when you call your credit card company for custome... read more

Today C-Note took me to Yerba Buena go see the Listening Post installation which is part of the Dark Matters exhibit which runs through November 11. I am really glad I got a chance to go and absorb it- it was one of the most profound works of art I have seen in a long time. If you are not familiar with it, the installation is a series of digital displays coupled with some text-to-speech technology where some rather fascinating language algorithms are applied to what is probably an enormous fe... read more

I saw a bump for this film and I was immediately intrigued and could feel that there could be a lot of heart and truth here:

What seems scary is that realization of how when we "go along" with things that we set ourselves up for some interesting learning quite by accident- I love movies like that! Humor can come forth in the most unexpected ways.

The new Radiohead 'In Rainbows' is downloadable today and in case you haven't heard, you can pay what you want for it. It's only a 160kb bitrate so it is not like they are giving away the store, but it is a statement on its own to allow the listener to pay or not pay. Of course the boxed edition is a meaty 40 quid. (And by quid I mean pounds.)

Sidestepping any hype, the album is so good it tears at my heart. Strangely, like every other album they have released before it, I always get that ... read more

After a month hiatus from tribe you might think I would be back with tales of Burning Man, but no, that would be way too predictable.

Instead, I must first speak of my collision with destiny in the form of a flying baked good... er.. bad. I went with Balke and C to see Rich and the rest of Palace Family Steak House play at the Bottom of the Hill last Wednesday since we were told it would be epic and attendance was mandatory. It was in fact "all that", however after their song giving props ... read more

I just wanted to send a shout out to Matt for being a great guy that I've gotten to know over the past year. He combines insane, yes insane, creativity with a love for people, good times, crazy gizmos, and new perspectives. He hangs with his awesome wife Cathy and they bring their incredible vibe wherever they go. Everybody likes Matt, because he's other-regarding and really enjoys meeting new folks and expanding his community. Matt shares and doesn't expect much in return, but it's just for that reason that everyone wants to reach out to Matt and support him for the great guy he is...

I love this F^#^#$g guy !!!!!

What else is there to say ?

You got a problem with him ... come see me .

How can one adequately expound upon the enormity of the qualities that coalesce to inform all that is Matt? To let the grandeur and grandiloquence of Matt enchant you is to experience undulating waves of nirvanistic bliss. His cunning, guile, and wit will guide you to higher and more esoteric realms. The polyfaceted set of interests that emanate from his ubercerebral mind will dazzle, amaze, and intoxicate. To forego an opportunity to bask in the luminity of his presence would be a travesty of enlightened social pizazzlement.

P.S. My wife thinks he's hot!

The awesomeness of Matt seems, to a first time observer, to be nearly impossible. "How," one might ponder, perhaps aloud, "does one of such a preptastic upbringing become so terribly awesome?" One's mind may reel. One may become dizzy. One should first meet Matt whilst seated so as to avoid the injuries that one would surly sustain in the fall that may happen when first encountering Matt's awesomeness. Truly, though, it's when one realizes the depth of Matt's awesomeness that one gets to the good stuff...and one can move past the fear of head injury or permanent awe and dance one's pants off with this fantastically fun n' freaky dude.

This visage, no mere veneer of vanity...
( miscellaneous » products ) "Interesting to see where this Guy Fawks stuff has gone" First I heard about the real story from the 17th century was in the B movie "Complex World" which was all about the art of the foiled plot. Worth a look, even if the flick is kinda low brow. It is pretty much the antithesis to "V for Vendetta".
