i've created (or more appropriately "resurrected") a monster.
My former business associate "Alex" (not his real name, but we've all got our secrets) has been a little too giddy over the untimely passing of our old pal "J."
I may no longer have any fondness for J either, but Jesus wept, man the visceral hatred between Alex and J was off the chart and between that and the other little bit of candy coated sprinkles of info i've passed along, my once endlessly melancholy little friend has been in an almost triumphant mania of late.
I can't say i blame him, but i do wish he'd tone it down a notch or two.

Maybe i'm turning into a cranky old queen, but it's been bothering me lately.
If anybody is reading this, you can send me all of the hatemail you want to, i'll understand.
It's one thing to want to go flat-out apeshit and throw a titanic debauched party, it's another thing to ask for social acceptance.
I understand the implications and ramifications of Pride Week and all of that, but seriously, with what it has become over the years can we just be honest and re-name the day of the big parade next year to "Dia De Los Flame-jobs"
Half of these fucking stereotypical queens that come prancing along to bad techno and low-grade Village People costumes haven't the first goddamn clue about Stonewall
And no, this isn't self loathing, i just think it's kind of ridiculous that some of the same people who will so stridenly call for social acceptance of the GLBT community by whatever the hell is supposed to be the mainstream in America are the same people who will willingly and publicly show off the cheesiest most off-putting stereotypes people have of us in front of millions of people.
Between the nonsense that goes on at the big parades every year and the small army of equally stereotypical and simpering little flamejobs that they stick on shows like MTV's "NEXT!" i think it's no wonder i've stayed in the closet this long

I brough up Paul Atreides "Litany against fear" because i saw a tribe here that uses it as their "catch" paragraph
You know, the usual bunch of "i'm not religious, but i'm spiritual" new-age, bay-area stereorypes.
I tried living in the bay area for a few months years ago, and though i quite enjoyed a lot of it, the faux-zen bullshit started rubbing me the wrong way. I swore before i left that if one more space-cadet suburbanite wanna-be fashion-Buddhist started lecturing me, i was gonna poke out their third eye and piss in the socket.

i bought the special edition DVD the other day.
I had to laugh when I heard Paul's Litany against Fear as the Reverend Mother had the needle against his neck.
Before I became the naughty little monkey that, to some degree, i still am i was a HUUUUGE science fiction fan.
I had read most of the stuff Crichton had published at that time before i was 12, and unweildy though it can be for ANY reader, i absolutely Adored the book DUNE.
And even though it is a disjointed mess, i love the movie too.

about me
I am the embodiment of all of the bad Karma that my mother and father racked up for being tight-assed Republicans... Yes...that's right, i'm a flaming queen with a mean streak a mile wide (just like my dad, heh-heh-heh)
So, if i qualify it by saying that i'm "only joking"
