"Of all the worn, smudged, dog-eared words in our vocabulary, "love" is surely the grubbiest, smelliest, slimiest. Bawled from a million pulpits, lavisciously crooned through hundreds of millions of loud speakers, it has become an outrage to good taste and decent feeling, an obscenity which one hesitates to pronounce. And yet, it has to be pronounced, for, after all, love is the last word."
My friend Diana had to create a website for part of a history course so she decided to do it on me and corsetry. Coupled with some history on corsets, we took a bunch of ridiculous photos, the majority of which weren't quite suited for her class, and I wrote a little blurb for it while taking a ferry. Nostradamas (1503-1566) shares your birthday today. You're highly original. Not only do you think out of the box, you live out of the box! In your daring way, you often provoke others -- and you love it. Privately, you're serious and philosophical. You'll do anything on a dare. In the year ahead, you will wrap up something you've been involved with for the last nine years.

Parity and beyond How high will the loonie go? Last Updated September 20, 2007 CBC News Ever since the Canadian dollar bottomed out at 61.79 cents US on Jan. 21, 2002, it has been on a seemingly unstoppable charge higher. Since then, the loonie's value has risen by 62 per cent, driven by surging commodity prices, a healthy economy and rising interest rates. Then, on Sept. 20, 2007, the dollar finally hit a le... read more

Friday night I was packing, getting ready for the trip to Osoyoos this weekend, when I wandered into the office and smelt smoke. For a moment I thought it was my landlady upstairs burning dinner, however - I thought to myself - the pizza woman had gone upstairs about half an hour before... So, maybe in time I'll be more enthusiastic to regail with the dramatic tale (it could be a good one - I'm well known for my hyperbole!), but wearily just now a note to ... read more
