The picture of the young boys looking up at Obama really caught my eye, along with the caption that said that their Grandmother had brought them to meet Obama because he was proof that Dr. King's words could be true for her grandsons, too. There are SO many people who have grown up with the assumption that there is no place or space for them in "America", and when I think of the influence someone like this can have-- to demonstrate that it's NOT a lie-- I realize that's a big piece of the hope that I have. "America" is not what the politicians tell us it is, it's what WE make it. And there are so many of us that assume that we can't have a role-- I so fervently hope that will change. It's not the change we're looking for, it's the change we NEED. (I guess this could all be paraphrased as "Go-bama!!") |

Obama is my President.. I've listened closely to what he has to say, and have always been impressed.
