I had no idea when i added christabel that she would be such an inspiration as all i had known before was bellydance. Taking up hooping was the best thing I coulda done this past year. I've lost weight, I've had fun, and I've made new friends and this is only the beginning. Thank you christabel!

Christabel... Channeler, philosopher, friend! Thank you for being a catalyst for the deepest transformations in my life, even from afar. Thank you for continuing to model the most extreme integrity, wisdom and strength. You are fearless. You are inspired. You are guided divinely! Thoroughly unreasonable rivers of love, always..

I allowed someone I was working with in a business consulting capacity to advise me. It was suggested that I purchase up every domain possible which had any relation with hooping. He suggested that I buy domains that I personally was thinking of using in the future, and also any domains that "competing" companies may have an interest in acquiring which were on the market. He was very directed about the impo... read more

What is it about change? When BIG changes walk into my life, my ego moves into overdrive to try to maintain, control, and hold everything together in some way which is familiar. Tonight we had Julie Wentz audition and gain membership in the HoopGirl Allstars! Wow! Julie is a phenomenal hooper with an obvious devotion to her personal practice, especially hooping"in the Buff". She radiated with her smiles, hip sways, and complex dance moves in a glittering costume while performing with dynamism and grace. It was truly an honor to have her audition and I am so excited she will be transmitting positivity and bliss with us on stage! Congratulations Julie!

Interested in getting to know me outside of the realm of HoopGirl? Join me at a new social group I have just organized about angels. As many of you have read in my past blogs, hooping activates all the body's energy centers and floods the human organism with endorphins, oxygen, awareness and presence. I sincerely feel that hooping has provided me with a sense of connection and "waking up" to the multidimensional nature of reality...this has recently ignited a passionate interest in angels and...

Today I am including a practice in my blog from a book called, "The 15 Minute Miracle". Hooping is part of whole life practice of wellbeing and joy ... but there are other important aspects as well! One big part of my life is choosing to consciously create positive thoughts. When I combine hooping with these consciousness building activities, the benefits of both are amplified! Enjoy...

For the past week I have been dealing with my grandma's approaching death. I got the news during a break halfway through last night's Hoop Path workshop that she had completed her journey out of her body and on to the next phase of her life. After a teary release (one of many over last couple days) I was sitting there feeling numb and after calling family I decided I really should just get right back into my hoop.

I decided to come up and spend some quality time with close friends in Bend and Portland for the Hoop Path workshops. I guess you can say I'm a junkie! Studying with Baxter and Ann last year really changed the course of my development as a hooper and teacher... development, which at that time was somewhat plateauing. They opened my eyes to practicing hooping as a LIFE PRACTICE. Before I was a "lifetime" hooper, loving it, doing it all the time, having fun, empowering myself and others. But af...

I'm a bit blurry after working pretty much non-stop for 3 weeks. Somehow I went directly from preparing for the Level 2 Teacher certification to re-organzing my entire company form the ground up. Not sure what I was thinking. Perhaps it was my dear friend Ashley... her astrological reading for me this year said it would be my most introverted year ever... that I would be going deep inside to rebuild my foundations. Well, I have to say that's the truth!

Woke up at 5:15 and my mind was racing. An aftereffect of overwork... sometimes this happens when I haven't taken a day off in too long. Decided today to break the cycle, so I picked up my hoop and began quietly hooping the livingroom to silence. My long flannel jammies started to get quite hot after a bit... since my husband was asleep in the bedroom where most of my movement clothing was, grabbed some burning man bootie shorts and stuff from the hall closet. Fun! As the sky has been getting...

All I've had for the last week has been excuses about why I haven't put in the private time, so this morning's 40 minutes were sweet! I had fun freestyling to the music, exploring Dolphin variations, all kinds of vertical twirls through the hoop in all directions, lots of outflow, some Swans. My buff was on my head and I impulsivly pulled it down over my eyes -- I never hoop in the buff at home since my practice space is about 4x5 with a big tv and other breakables on all sides... but suddenl...

It may be completely idealistic, but I really feel within myself in a cellular way a craving for peace. A wish that we all could sincerely understand eachother. A deep caring for people around me at times, even when they aren't exactly intending the same feelings towards me. Don't get me wrong, it is not as if I'm some saint. I don't always feel this way. I get angry, insecure and fearful too! But there are these moments when I can so connect with what is really important and I just feel floo...

Thank you for the medicine of personal practice... it's funny that I always tell my students to make it feel good and sometimes I get so militant with my own personal practice... forcing myself to go for a full hour which feels soooo long... feeling the impulse to glance at the clock interrupt my flow. I start every day with meditation in an outside area, on the earth in a special grove which I have created as a sacred sanctuary. I begin with my laughter practice~ warming up my abdomen with breathing and sounding exercises. I move into gentle sounds, then giggles, then full blown laughter. I ride waves of heart-warming chuckles for about thirty minutes, cresting, falling, surfing, rolling onto my back and kicking my legs with glee! I am feeling quite sparkly.
