I had the most unexpected sensation today at the tattoo parlor. Not the burning pain- that I pretty much anticipated.

It happened when I looked at Dan, who was bandaged and flushed with endorphins and blood sugar. I felt awed... almost overcome.

I already knew that Dan and I were in love, partnered, life mates. But all of the sudden it became tangibly, externally permanent. This man's life is bound to mine- I must keep him happy and well and cared-for. I feel responsible. How amazing! We're family.
