cell phone usage analysis...

   Mon, January 21, 2008 - 5:25 PM
I'm not really a phone talker, and so I was wondering if maybe I could save money by dropping down to a per minute cell phone plan.

I graphed my minute usage and noticed spikes - mostly around my dating life - which have now probably leveled off.

For the period graphed, if I had been at a lower service rate plan (200 anytime minuutes, with $.45 per minute over) I'd have saved $81.75 since October 2004.

Anyone know a good per minute service? appearantly Sprint does not offer per minute plans...

That's a savings of $2 per month. Not worth the time it takes to worry about it, IMNSHO. Eat one less nice dinner out every 2 years and you'll save about the same amount.

I thought the same thing
so I switched my service plan down to 250 minutes a month with no roll over (I have AT&T).
Well what they didn't tell me is that at the 250 rate I pay for all calls including mobile to mobile (which was free previously), all text messages, and day time minutes (when I use the phone the most) were more expensive than evening minutes. My first bill on my "discount" plan was $95! (it's usually $60)

It's not worth it really to save a few dollars per month for the lack of features and services.
