Fire, Flood, Earthquakes..... Economy..... What's the difference!!??

What is with the complaints of services to help these victims of each tragedy? In the first place... what happened to..... "Preparedness"!!?? The over 1 million recent fire victims have obviously been VERY quickly located in shelters - while thousands of Katrina victims (many still scattered throughout the country) are still displaced! Provisions and facilities have been available all along, and meanwhile the Katrina victims have been just waiting in line for.........(!???) Current disaster victims expect assistance, with a promise of cutting corners with insurance companies, FEMA, etc., but WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE SO MUCH MORE PRIVILEGED THAN ANY OTHER CITIZEN SURVIVING HOMELESSNESS!!??

The REALITY of "EQUALITY" shows when a homeless citizen dies at night from the elements, is beaten, or set on fire, etc..... the news may mention it, briefly, then a quick closure! Compare the equality to folks in Malibu with a Katrina survivor still buying into similar false promises other homeless citizens have dealt with for years... the waiting in lines, the persecutions, discriminations, and even hate crimes!! Homeless or houseless, with or without the drama, it all results in identical stress, distress and depression... It Doesn't take a Disaster, to be a Catastrophe in anyone's life! While thousands attempting to live within their means, hopeful for a change with promised assistance that never happens - (except that which skips over to selected and current "crisis victims"). When was a meager existence during a failing economy not a crisis!!?? Being displaced from housing, losing life's worth, property, enduring any array of tragedy that causes hardship to one's life (such as neglected medical needs that perpetuates problems - (regardless of each circumstance) - still results in devastation, degradation, and then the depression. Sure, a fire gives drama and causes trauma (and becomes newsworthy), more than when just quietly passing that point of being "one-paycheck-away" from losing your place, your savings..... your "stuff" (but - losing your "stuff" is still losing your "stuff"). Although losing property economically is not a "made for t.v. drama", (unless it's your stuff), but often during the preceding months have a simmering building-up, a slow burn that embeds the depression and puts ones survival ability beyond just a pressure test!? While former citizens of New Orleans have had to fend for themselves, are now in addition to the already existing over 3 million citizens who have been homeless for YEARS!

After the Dust Settles... the only attention towards the homeless citizen is negative, a typical result from the subsequent increase of homeless traffic. This inevitability always results in an increase of "anonymous" complaints to police using "just don't want them here" (as though that area is somehow exclusive and magically they'll disappear), but diverts from the cause of the problem, and all the previous discussions of compassionately helping others in need during a crisis are moot. The expectation seemingly is if I don't see, then it doesn't exist...(??) - WRONG !!?!... and doesn't justify abusing the use of authorities to harass someone. If the accumulated volume is tiring, then help solve that problem!! Only while linked to a disaster... are any concerns expressed for the homeless. Those able to recuperate, have no clue what happens to some of their "friends" and neighbors who couldn't. While striving to recover from a series of accumulating misfortunes, with obstacles unnecessary to add to the experience, many have learned to exist with resourceful means but with the closest experience to compassion is when a cop gives a warning - instead of a charge.

There is a difference between doing something about the homeless and doing something for the homeless. While already striving to recover from a series of accumulating misfortunes, with unnecessary obstacles added to the experience, many have learned to exist with resourceful means. Economic imbalances between housing costs and lack of jobs with affordable wages previously perpetuated accumulative hardships affording housing. Now, finding non-existing housing with less income than that becomes irrelevant. The new laws that skirt around the abolishment of former vagrancy laws have been so counterproductive, with no positive accomplishments, and are violating Civil Rights!! (Despite the U.S. 9th District Court ruling, some communities still believe they are above the Federal Law.) This has only resulted in an illusion of (very brief) absence during attempts to keep a low profile until the increasing volume can no longer stay hidden. This ... "game" of Musical Chairs has been played" while the number of "players" have increased, and the "chairs" removed!? Sooo..... Malibu, San Diego, New Orleans, Georgia..... (and of course all those facing the housing "bubble")... WELCOME TO THE PARTY!!?!

It started without you...
- (or your help)...
and if you did help
- enjoy!?.....
Drop in Centers have become thriving businesses all over the
country and will help refer you to find clothes, blankets,
canned foods (and "stuff"). Of course, you'll have to arrange
to carry it around somehow (shopping carts are illegal), but
if you're quick, you'll get to USE most of it - before
losing it in the next police raid!? Of course, centers have
lists of shelters (when space is available), so if you want
to be warehoused, fight over bed space hoping no-one
steals any of your "stuff", there's usually a waiting list.
The point is - nothing offered even begins to help towards
correcting the problem of the growth of the homeless population!

Coming soon now, you can count on this new game (if you don't like the one played so far)!! It's already begun, with many veteran players who have been in training!!? The rules are: In a democracy, (even in this hypocrisy), the majority will rule!! Also, recently estimated that 25% of the homeless population are military veterans - and counting (our players have been increasing), and by the war's end will provide an increased ("surge") volume of "re-enforcements" who have expressed more anger and even if not already resentful, the rules will again change along with the scoring. Either the majority will rule..... or the mobs will. Soooo... we're not playing chess... but, it's your move... or do nothing and someone else will!!??

What are being grossly overlooked are the over 3 million citizens who have been homeless, for YEARS, with no consideration to the gravity of their circumstances. 2 million of those - were not homeless 5 years ago... so who are they, where did they come from, and moreover ... who will the next 2 million be!!??

There are many of you... who will show up at centers like so many of the new faces. Many of you don't yet know who you are.... but, typically will have the same look on your face (and I see them all when they show up at the centers). I'll be there to let you know who you are, and how you could have done something before becoming just another one of "them"!!?! Some of you, who have been kicking homeless people to the curb (and those of you do know who you are).

I am A. John Doe Homeless

Help Decriminalize Homelessness!!?!

Sonoma County among others are either stupid, or so arrogant as to continue violating constitutional rights (8th amendment according to the U.S. 9th District Court of appeals) of those just trying to live within their means!
I am an activist, not by title or declaration, but by the activities during my last 20 years… I fit the definition in its entirety, completely, and exactly! Sometimes I’m told I talk too much, my response is that if more people would talk more about correcting wrongs, I wouldn’t have to say so much by myself.
After being put out of business from, new law changes, I opposed the economical trend that has resulted in our current conditions. At 60+, employment isn't plentiful, & I live in a RV. If you can relate to the conditions that I have dealt since 1990, then you know how the very causes of our problems, handicap our ability to communicate reliably, make effective contacts (timely) for employment, seeking potential help IE: progress in improving at all.
After the experiences of a lifetime, it occurred to me that the experiences of many others were mostly similar. The only variation or differences would be the cause, time, or location of the experiences one has had, not yet had, or about to have. The one thing in common, attention isn’t paid to us folks now that we are less important somehow… so those who have still not yet falling into the streets, vehicles & bushes need to speak up while they may still be listened to.

The 9th District Federal Court of Appeals Ruled that making homelessness a crime is an 8th Amendment violation of Civil Rights!!... But...
What must not be overlooked, ignored, or left unchecked before more damage is done about some of the "powers-to-be" that are either STUPID or ARROGANT, but just still don't get it!!... Or maybe they just think they are above the Federal Law, and our Civil Rights!? Sonoma County (for one) still charged (recently) 7 folks apparently at the Bohemian Grove protest this summer with "camping in public", a crime for $500 and 6 months in jail!!?! This has to stop! It is counterproductive and compounds the problem!!
I’m seeking assistance to pursue a restraining order and/or lawsuit for civil rights violations on behalf of all the John & Jane Doe Homelesses who have been charged illegally with the crime and who have had to pay with frustration, stress let alone finance & time. A little legal experience can be of great help here. Finances recovered can help provide assistance to needy programs. Moreover give a reason to discourage the powers-to-be from ever being so STUPID again with Gestapo type brash attempts in the future!! The only effective way to give them a reason to check themselves is remind them of consequences… call it a stupidity charge!

THE... X - TERMINATOR!!?!

and The X Governor ... either way... "California Dreamer " will be the title of his NEXT DAY JOB!!
Arnold, Schwartz, 'n Naiger..... sounds like a bad comedy team...... or law firm! What he's done to the state of California, his buddy Bush has been doing to the whole country. (At least Clinton confined it to under his desk at the oval office.)
And WHO'S economy has all the growth been good for?! THAT'S NOT THE QUESTION THOUGH!! The question that SHOULD BE ASKED is... at WHO'S EXPENSE has that good economy costed ( or accosted).

(Can you say homeless, unemployment, health & education workers, rising fuel & housing costs, and unemployement?? all in one sentence!!!??!) Arnold can't...............but somehow buddy Bush still can... AND include terrorists, homeland security, and freedom protection all in one word to the mix (somehow). You decide which is more dangerous!

The unemployment figures DON'T INCLUDE the small owner/operator businesses that folded, who never collected unemployment, folks who haven't been able to work during the last 2 - 15 years, or over 3 MILLION HOMELESS victims of economic imbalance AND all of thoise who haven't been in the system during that time. The improvement is only the lose of those who are no longer kept track of. The concept is typically...If we don't see it, it doesn't exist!!
(But I thought that was the philosophy of the communists!?)!

I am On Strike against Unfair Housing Costs!!

YOU THINK YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!!?! I have a problem with our elected representatives who make decisions affecting everyone’s life and well being, while the economically challenged strive to live within their means and attempt to better their situation under the already existing extreme hardships …to think a solution would be to CREATE A LAW making BEING HOMELESS a criminal behavior, and in doing so violate Civil Liberties and Constitutional Rights. (The same mentality is to fire a shotgun into a crowd to make sure they hit the target!!?!) Not only is that restoring vagrancy laws that were abolished, it prompts the police to use Gestapo type tactics to enforce a CREATED CRIME taking “Homeland Security” to the extreme level we are all concerned with. Homeland Security has become abused!!?!
I can relate to most experiences that homeless folks have had to deal with. During the last 10 years I have observed "newcomers" to the homeless population, showing up at homeless facilities who are obviously disoriented, stunned, bewildered and not comprehending how they could have gotten into this situation, and not understanding why nothing is being done correct things. Losing mini-storage, housing, then no longer able to maintain (much less) increase their income only begins a depressing result. Eventually, there is a loss of expectation that these ambitions are even viable and concession to accept only short term goals are practical, until there are no more goals at all... only survival skill development. These skills vary in all the ways that have often become complaints.
After years of falling behind the inflationary increases, lessening expenses is a more effective alternative. I have been opposing the economic trend that has resulted in our increased numbers and the shameful current conditions. I have tried to raise public awareness (before many of you became homeless however it was caused), while some of which were still kicking homeless folks to the curb!!... (and those of you... know who you are!)... and that perpetuates the problems.
The one thing in common, is being ignored which is the first step in ignorance of those who look the other way (as if... "if it’s not seen it doesn’t exist"). But, for those who have still not yet fallen to the streets, vehicles & bushes need to speak up while they may still be listened to. Attention isn’t paid to homeless as we are now "less than important" (even avoided understandably) by others... but that also perpetuates the problems.

We need to focus more on doing something to help at least slow down the increase of folks falling into the "can't afford rent catagory", I.E. at least try narrowing the difference between wage earnings and housing costs.
