The Gray Wolf is in Danger
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 11:57 AMThe Bush administration has used OUR tax dollars to already buy two planes for the purpose of aerial killing of wolves, making it possible to slaughter an entire wolf pack within minutes!
Even though the Gray Wolf is still on the Endangered Species list, the Bush administration has disregarded that fact and made it legal anyway to kill wolves. This is blatently illegal and disgusting.
The wolf is a beautiful creature with which I have shared a deep connection with my entire life. I would be greatly saddened if the only wolves my children ever get to see are on documentaries from decades ago, or caged up in zoos. The extinction of the gray wolf is emminent.
If you feel the urge to do so please do one or both of these options...
Call:
Please take a moment right now to call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at 1-800-344-WILD (9453) and deliver this simple message:
“My name is "-----" and I’m calling from "city, state". I understand that the federal government may remove wolves in the Greater Yellowstone and Central Idaho regions tomorrow from the list of federally protected threatened and endangered species. I want your department to know that I strongly oppose the weakening of protections for these wolves and expect you to fulfill your obligation to secure a lasting future in the Northern Rockies for these amazing animals.”

That's horrible, but so like the Bush Administration to do. Bush's entire Presidency has been a travesty of the largest kind. Thanks for alerting us to this information so that we might be able to make our voices heard.

Hope you don't mind I'm taking over your blog :)
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for everybody who called and emailed and complained and bitched! The Fish and Wildlife Service received over 20,000 calls opposing the wolf delisting!
One more link for everybody: secure.defenders.org/site/Advocacy This is to support a National Wolf Recovery Plan. It's basically a petition and they need 75,000 electronic "signatures". Defenders and Earthjustice have already filed to sue to get the delisting overturned, and this is the first step. Thanks again for everyone's help! Stef. |
