So take a break from Britney and OJ news, and have a look at what our crazy revolutionary fore bearers had to say back in 1776! In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776. The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. (Note: the original hand-written text ended on the phrase "the pursuit of property" rather than |the pursuit of Happiness" but the phrase was changed in subsequent copies in part because it was broader. The latter phrase is used today). That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Our doggie opthamologist—ouch, you can imagine how expensive that is—told us it needs to be removed and fast or she could go totally blind and even worse, it could spread into cancer. Once we were able to stop sobbing about how sick our beloved doggie was, we realised that things being as tight as they are financially, there was just no way we were going to be able to afford her operation and outpatient care. The total bill is going to push around 1600 bucks, with 1200 going just to the operation. You know folks, in general we try not to double dip and have fund raisers or rent parties to keep our theater open, but just this once we implore you to attend this show—featuring Tom Jonesing (Unplugged!), Single Entendre, Sunshine Fortress, and a whole lot more. No worries though, because it is on the same night, and I am open to double casting Yes I am also looking for a few good actors to play a part in my upcoming staged rendition of the Twilight Zone classic Five Characters in search of an exit.
